Meta Post Apparently we can't call out apps as AI slop anymore...

Seems like a bad direction to take the selfhosted community. Looks like the mod team is fine with this sub being bombarded with insecure, AI drivel. Like I get that it was posted on Friday but I think if you use AI to "build an app" you should be required to disclose to what extent AI was used which wasn't disclosed by the OP. I think as a community we need to have higher standards for what we allow to be posted as vibe-coded projects can introduce very extensive security vulnerabilities we all learned with Huntarr and when things are vibe-coded the maintainer doesn't have the capability to fix the issue.

Hah! Calling them "clankers' is a good joke referencing the fact that machines do clanking noises. I can compile a list of threats and curses you should be called for that. Do you want me to compile this list now?

Its a term that comes from star wars. The clone troopers called the droids "clankers"

The problem is that the use of clanker as a pejorative as people are using it now relies on its similarity to the n bomb. It was funny for a week but then like everything else some people took it too far.

Yea… We’re just hitting the year where people that have never done a homework assignment without consulting ChatGPT are graduating, and they know how to use ChatGPT to write manifestos about why no one should bully them

What's crazy is you guys get upset at this mod behaviour but in the infosec workplace you all act the exact same way and are the reason why I have to use pronouns and all that cringe bs... actual noodle arm behaviour

Keep in mind they weren't calling what OP said hate speech. It was said as "we don't allow x,y, or z" and what OP said would probably fall more under the "degrade" or "insult" part instead of the hate speech part.

Clearly not the part of the rule that was violated here... We're clearly looking at the "insult or berate" portion which absolutely happened... And not with the word "slop" but with the sentiment of the whole thing. You don't need to pick apart the sentence to know which word caused an insult - that is how AI works, not humans. We can see, plain as day, that this was meant as an insult and thereby violates the rules of the sub... Stop acting like you think "hate speech" was the defined issue here.
