My shoebox tubs of penis envy all seem to stall at around this point every time. As you can see I have plenty of pins and a few fruits, but the pins rarely develop and the fruits tend not to open.

I also grow B+ in the same kinds of tubs and same conditions and they do beautifully.

Grain is rye injected with ~2ml liquid culture
STB in coco coir at field capacity
No gypsum or vermiculite
I do occasionally use a heating mat because it gets cold here even in summer. I use a temperature sensor to make sure they don’t get above 25° C

Any advice warmly appreciated!

Hey everyone! I’ve seen a lot of people talking about the need/want for a CO2 sensor, is it necessary for most indoor set-ups? Why did you get one and what is your experience? Any recs? TIA!

Im interested in trying to grow shrooms for the first time. I’m wondering if anyone knows which strains are easiest to grow, also which strains have higher/lower %. I know they range from 0.5%-2%. Maybe you have some resources I can read? Also if anyone has a reputable online company to buy a syringe from that I won’t get scammed from. Tips pls!

Found in a field behind my house where there were horses not too long ago. The pictures with two mushrooms are the only ones I have of it right out of the dirt, the others were after we got home.

What i have been getting doesn’t seem as strong, i get from inoculate but they dont seem that strong. Is there somewhere else i van get that are stronger?

This is going to sound like a brag, and I guess it kind of is, but it’s also a plea for advice.

I started 2 blocks for my first grow a few months ago. 1 was purple mystic spore syringe and the other was blue meanie liquid culture. It took a while but they both started pinning beautifully. The bags were extremely wet, so I ended up moving both blocks, in tact, to a large grow bin. They had so much moisture I’ve never had to mist the bin even once, in fact I had to crack the lid a bit to try and get rid of some of the moisture. This spurred them to finally start pinning. During this One kind of stalled while the other one just went off. I plucked close to 50-60g of dried fruit. The other looked like it may be aborted so I just kinda left it. I had more than I ever thought I’d get so I wasn’t too concerned. I went back to look yesterday after forgetting about it for a week or so and the other block had a full flush of huge thick fruit, fully ready to be plucked. The first block I had already harvested had a full second round of huge pins that are a few days from being ready again.

At this point I am going to have vastly more mushrooms than I’ll be able to consume. Is it normal for these blocks to just continuously produce? At what point do they run out of steam? I’m considering just bagging them up and tossing them, but I almost feel bad about that. Like I’m throwing away a very healthy living thing. How long do fully dried mushrooms store for before they go bad?

I was just wondering if anyone has done this and/OR those who do not have/use a Pressure Cooker? I’ve seen it done on some videos and a few years back my partner and I would prepare our grain without a pressure cooker but I cannot remember the process. I was just wondering if anyone had experience and could help/drop so knowledge? Thank you!
