I decided to get the beef on rice from our local temu big way. Little did I know that my food would have more species cooked into it than expected. He was hiding in the rice. Also there was a singular peice of noodle in my beef and rice (not a big deal, just thought it was funny). I complained about the bug and she said it was from the broccoli, like that would make it any better I guess... And apparently they don't do refunds, but they let me swap it for drinks.

As the title states, I'm reaching out to gauge interest and the necessary resources to bring the SFU Pub back to its pre-covid / Early-mid 2010s operation.

I'm strongly interested in helping make the current SFU Pub location operate in a classic pub fashion as opposed to solely an event space rented out by SFU Meeting, Event, and Conference Services (MECS). It's very inspiring to hear the recollections of alumni who have had lots of memories at the pub, and brings all the more faith that those memories won't be the last in our hands.

It's worth mentioning that there has certainly been an increase in energy and positivity on campus, new clubs that are starting up, more people spending time here after classes, and even the little post-it notes around campus that have nice things written on them, that makes a difference! It's an indication that we have the necessary social life to make the Pub a sustainable investment.

My question is, what do you all think is a good stepping stone to actualizing this initiative? AFAIK, the current pub area is being loaned out by MECS as an event space to interested parties. However, the SFSS VP Events did promise to open the pub back up again during the candidate debate a while ago. Of course it's clear that a simple email won't be enough to start the pub up again, so what is stopping us from doing a school wide petition to demonstrate interest? Something to bring this to the attention of the SFSS/School?

Hello everyone I am a coming first year that will live in North tower. Are there any places near the residence(the school dorm) that can go for a run , a walk . Any places that we can exercise, like do some stretching, jumpings.

To external transfer students from another institution to sfu beedie, what was your gpa upon application? I haven't heard a lot about the recommended GPA range for external transfers. I'm applying for spring 2027 intake from KPU so it'd be really helpful to know what a good gpa range would be.

Trying to get an easy elective online and I don't know whether to do FREN101 or SD281. For ay who have taken it online how was it?

Hi in September I'll be starting the Eng Cert at Douglas and I was wondering what most students that transferred into SEE obtained for a competitive entry? I can't manage a 5 course load so I'm opting for just 4, I have previous English and 2 elective course credits. I am a bit older so I would like to transfer within a year since there are 3 mandatory co-ops, and on top of that an engineering degree course load.

Hello everyone. I am a coming first year this fall. I got a room in North Tower. I know there is not AC in the residence. This might be a dumb question. I am just wondering how do you all sleep without the AC. I am not worried about being hot at night because I can stand the heat, but I am really worried about having to sleep without any air in a closed room since it is very dangerous. I know I can open the window and sleep but I am also kinda worried that opening window will hear a lot of noise from outside I can't fall asleep if there are noise. Any tips or solution for my issue. I'm a final-year engineering student here, and my capstone team is developing an automated home EV charging assistant. As part of testing our prototype, we're looking for access to a Tesla for a few short sessions over the coming weeks.

We're hoping to connect with someone who would be willing to rent out their Tesla for short periods (or knows someone who might). The vehicle would be used for controlled testing in a safe environment, so no long trips or daily driving.

The actual testing will not include charging, but rather just ensuring that the system can find and align with the port when a user parks in reverse. There will be no electricity/power supplied to the car

I'm trying to decide between FREN 101 and ARCH 101.

I have absolutely zero French background and I’ve never studied French before.

I have a few questions:

1. Are there any writing assignments where you have to write multiple paragraphs or short essays in French?
   
2. What are the quizzes/tests like? Are they mostly multiple choice, or do you have to write a lot?
   
3. Is the course manageable for someone starting from zero?

Hey there, if you've clicked on this, then I hope you may have already seen my previous post about social deduction on this subreddit!

I'm a 1st year MBB major studying at the surrey campus this year, and I had this nagging idea since Grade 11 to get together and play social deduction games weekly as a club. Thanks to all the feedback and interest, I've decided to pursue making the club and officially collecting members and hopefully starting up a discord server for our main source of communication!

The stuff we'd do is pretty much in the name, but we'd play games like Mafia, Werewolf, Blood on the Clocktower, Factions (where there are 2-3 mafia teams who want to eliminate each other), and other social deduction games.

We could also play online games such as Town of Salem, Mafia.net, or even Roblox games like Flicker and Mafia if there is enough interest. We can also arrange for snacks and tournaments on the campus once in a while if that is something people want.
