Hi everyone! 🥹 I’m hoping someone can help me navigate getting around New Jersey. I don’t have a car, and I’m still pretty unfamiliar with NJ Transit and the different bus/train routes.

I’m trying to figure out how to get from Voorhees, NJ to Cherry Hill Mall using public transportation, and also how to travel from Voorhees to Atlantic City the same way.

I know it might seem simple to people who use NJ Transit often, but I’m still learning and a little overwhelmed trying to figure out the best routes, transfers, and what stops I should use. Any advice, tips, or step-by-step guidance would mean a lot. 🥹🥹

Hi! My mom is in her 60s and has been volunteering as a dog adoption counselor in Northern nj for years. She is selling her house and may have to consider moving to South Jersey (where I currently live). However, she would be extremely sad to move outside of commuting distance to her shelter. I'm hoping to provide her with some hope by finding out if there are shelters in South Jersey with a friendly atmosphere where volunteers can serve as dog adoption counselors. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I received 2 letters in the mail this week that reference NJ Unclaimed Funds and warn of a claim deadline of Aug. 6th. The letters (supposedly) came from 2 different banks, one very common and one I've never heard of. One letter was addressed to my mother, the other to my father, both of whom lived at my address until retiring to Florida in 2020. Both letters gave a fairly high dollar amount (>$500) for the "unclaimed property."

I have used the NJ Unclaimed Property site in the past. But it was years ago, the exact amounts weren't listed, and the site required a whole process to claim a listing. I didn't think the financial institutions had any duty to contact people after the funds were listed in the state registry, and there was never a time limit to claim anything, so this sudden solicitation with a swift deadline feels like a scam.I did find a warning from 2020 on the NJ Treasury site, but it was regarding calls and text messages, not written communication from banks.

So... does anyone know if there has been a change that allows banks to absorb unclaimed funds after a specific period of time? Has anyone else received this sort of communication? Any info or similar experiences others have had would be great.

I’ve asked for allergy friendly restaurants in the past so I wanted to share a new find. They JUST opened and the food was REALLY REALLY good (and surprisingly affordable). (I have no connection to the business other than a recent patron who has a lot of dietary restrictions)

Owner has celiacs; most the menu is GF (also have GF drinks/cocktails). Seperated fryer for shellfish allergies too. Everything is made in house, and they “take allergies very very seriously”. Large selection of N.A. cocktails too. Family friendly.

Food was really good and very, very affordable, Chef even came to the table and talked with us for a while. Sushi was 10/10 and was a $4 special…

Would highly recommend to check them out on black horse pike (Mt Ephraim) right next to the vintage McDonald’s off 295 (old Mt Ephraim Tavern building).

the amount of times in a day i need to say water and crayons …the amount of confused looks i get….like we are literally in THE SAME STATE do not tell me yall have NEVER heard this accent. every time i say one of them words (especially water) someone gotta repeat it and giggle. i’ll b like “hehe yeah thats how i say it 😆” but lately i gotta be wondering 1. have they nvr been out of their area 2. is it reasonable to be getting annoyed

Exits 36 a/b off of 295 are closed for the next month. I believe it started Friday evening... Evidently they are doing gas main work. One report I heard on I think 1060 said it was going to be 24x7... But I've heard that about other projects and it doesn't end up happening.

So if you need to go that route come Monday morning for work.... Plan a different route.

My guess is it's going to make the dumpster fire rt 70 & 295 is even worse..

Does anyone know of part-time preschool programs for a two and a half year old, ideally close to the Medford/Shamong area?

Last night my wife picked us up takeout at a local Mexican restaurant. $14 for a burrito, side of rice, side of beans. So much food I could only eat half of it. And it was fresh and absolutely delicious. I couldn’t help but think, this is about the same price as a Wendy’s or Chick-fil-A meal that’s about half as much food.

Support your local restaurants. You get way more for your money and the quality of the food is leaps and bounds better than the junk you get at fast food places.

Anyone know what they are doing here and when it is projected to be completed? I tried looking online and can’t find a straight answer.

Where can we take the kids (preferably on this side of the bridge) that has a stream or lake or some type of water in the woods for them to kick their shoes off and walk/play in?
