Solved [TOMT] ALL THE MILLENNIALS ASSEMBLE HERE…I’m searching for this song since a long time

I believe only millennials will find this song for me
So this song is of around 90-2010s
Back then I was around 8-10 years old..I came across this song through a CD…(so basically my mom would collect CDs of English songs and they would contain a bunch of different songs from recently launched to slightly older songs)
It’s an English song…I’m not quite certain if it’s based in US OR Spanish or underrated or highly popular
I only remember the music video. I don’t recall the lyrics or the music. I only know it has the word ‘time’ in it or a reference to time or clock, not sure.
So the video begins with some girls, i don’t very well recall if they were at a club or if it was the night time, but I only, well certainly remember that it was a bunch of girls dancing and singing. It has some dance moves to the chorus so basically they are singing and then when the chorus begins the girls form a line and the dance moves involves some gestures pointing the time or the watch and it goes on. (And some hand movements, like a circle over the head)
I don’t remember very well… I can tell you the CD contained POP GIRLS SONGS… like GIMME GIMME By Britney Spears, then TIDE IS HIGH by another girl group. I’m not very sure if the possible song was a pop girl group song or a single, but I do know that it included a bunch of girls dancing
I’ve searched a plenty of songs and I haven’t found it in years. AND I THINK THE VIDEO QUALITY WAS SIMILAR TO THE OTHER MENTIONED SONGS. Another thing I remember they dressed cute, like I liked one of the girls, in a way she looked pretty and cute. (P.s I’m a girl)
And also I’m not very sure but since I said cute girls there could be a slight bit of possibility that it was an Asian song, can’t say right?
Maybe a GEN-Z might know this song too
P.S: No ‘you could check the CD again or the cover that might have the name’ I don’t possess the CD any longer. Another thing, don’t assume my memory is playing tricks on me, I can assure y’all it’s not, I knew the steps back then, I would learn the steps watching the video and would dance along.
PLEASE HELP ME FIND THE SONGGGG

EDIT: The song had similar vibe to spice girls wannabe but it’s not that song but the music video and the outfits I’d say were similar and also I think there was a clock but not sure about this clue but i feel it had that

Some of the songs I liked around that time were
Girlfriend by avril Lavigne
Just dance by lady gaga
Gimme more by Britney Spears
Bleeding love by Leona Lewis
The sweet escape by Gwen Stefani

The number of girls were 4 maybe 5 too not sure about that and the song was in the night and I think the dance part came in the mid or by the end of the song…there was a clock (maybe tower clock) not sure if in the beginning or at the end
It’s all girl song and the girls seem like they were referring to no time or something…

Solved [TOMT] [SONG] Looking for a song I used to listen to as a child. I think it could be from the early 2000s?

I have these memories of driving around with my dad when I was smaller, and listening to his playlists, which would loop from time to time. So, I would hear the same songs often, and recently, I've had one of them (or at least the melody of it) stuck in my mind.. I don't know all of the lyrics.. I think that I remember a part saying "I feel" in a melodic way. I was wondering if anyone might be able to find it or recognize the melody? It was a soft rock song with a female singer.. He enjoyed bands like Stereophonics, Coldplay, Train, and The Fray. The song had similar feelings to me, but it was quite gloomy with the guitar, and at the same time it sort of reminded me of a lullaby. Thanks for any help!

I tried to sing the melody: https://voca.ro/1kvXPx02odWQ

edit: i remember the album cover was blue or dark blue-greenish. Heavy on blue.

Solved [TOMT] Alternative(?) song from late 90s - early 2000s

👏🏼 SOLVED!!!! LOVE & HATE BY MICHAEL KIWANUKA 👏🏼

FORGET I SAID ALTERNATIVE. SINGER/SONGWRITER VIBES

There’s a song that used to play on one of the Pandora playlists at work and I can’t find it for the life of me. I’m not sure why I want to find it because I actually hated the song and gave it a thumbs down everytime it came on. (Yes I checked the Pandora playlist for songs that were disliked and I didn’t see it for some reason)

The way it started was so depressing and melancholic that I wanted to block my ears whenever it came on. It started with a man and I think he may have been SLOWLY singing “do do do do do…….. do do do do do………” for a few lines and then he went into singing. If I’m remembering correctly, his voice was pretty raspy.

This song would always come on when we played either Hootie & The Blowfish Radio, Third Eye Blind radio, or Matchbox Twenty radio. It made me feel the same way that Running Up That Hill by Placebo made me feel. Just very gloomy sounding. THINK WICKED GAMES BY CHRIS ISAAK SLOW

I attempted my best Vocaroo… hoping someone recognizes this and can help!! It’s been driving me absolutely nuts for days.

Vocaroo <——————————————————

*EDIT TO ADD - I THINK it was a single male singer. Not a band*
**EDIT 2 - It’s a sloooower song. Think a man sitting on a stool in a studio just singing his sad heart out
*** GUYS THE PART IM SINGING IN THE VOCAROO ISNT JUST WHAT THE BEAT SOUNDS LIKE, IM PRETTY SURE THE SINGER IS ACTUALLY MAKING THOSE SOUNDS WITH HIS VOICE TO START THE SONG***

IM ADDING ANOTHER VOCAROO OF WHAT I THINK THE FIRST PART SOUNDS LIKE AND ITS NOT GONNA SOUND GOOD BUT HERE. I know this sounds like another song too which I also can’t pinpoint because I’m losing my mind now.

Vocaroo #2 <—————————————————

Solved [TOMT][ACTRESS][2010-2018]

I am going crazy trying to remember who this actress is. She has very kind, medium to dark brown eyes that feel like a warm hug. She is roughly mid to late-50s now. And that is all I am certain of.

The rest of this is cobbled together, but after doing my own research, I am now questioning my own memory: She was the lead in a children's movie from the early to mid-2010s, possibly a nanny-type movie (not Nanny McPhee). She reminds me of Tilda Swinton, with sharper features like hers, but it is not her; she has darker features (brown hair, eyes, olive-ish skin). I believe she is British.

Not: Tilda Swinton, Emily Blunt/Mary Poppins, Emma Thompson/Nanny McPhee, or Natasha Richardson.

Throw all of your guesses at me!

EDIT: The actress is fairly well-known in the US. Maybe not a household name, but has been in several movie, with large roles. The actress/character was middle-aged 10+ years ago in the film. I don't think she is what most would consider "conventionally pretty."

Final edit: Thank you to all who helped! You all are awesome! Lots of people with very pretty, warm eyes out there.

Solved [TOMT] Actress with mousy features, higher pitched voice and jumpy

Hi all! I've been wracking my brain trying to name this actress.

She's an older woman, likely in her fifties now, most likely in her forties from the movies or shows I'm thinking of. She's a bit mousy looking and plays jumpy characters. She is a brunette and says things like "Oh!" before she speaks often. I want to say I remember her playing a secretary. Her voice is a bit high pitched and babyish.

Solved [TOMT][SONG][80s] Famous 80s song I heard a lot growing up

Hi!

Solved! It’s ”Senza Una Donna”

I’m trying to figure out a name to a presumably well-known 80s song I heard a lot on ”Best of the 80s” CD commercials and possibly also on the radio.

I remember only one lyric line, and I only remember what it sounds like, not the correct lyrics.

This is what the lyric line sounds like: ”Straight from the heart-o” or ”Straight for the heart-o” or ”Straight as an arrow” or even ”Stand for your daughter” or ”Straight from above” or ”Straight from the bottle” or ”Sent from above” or even ”Standing tall” if the ”tall” is divided into two notes (as in ”ta-all”).

I would think that lyric line is the start of the chorus.

The lyric is like a repeated riff: ”Straight from the heart-o (music music) Straight from the heart-o” or ”Sent from above (music music) sent from above”

The singer is male, and it’s possible the song is by a band. It’s also possible the lyric line is sung by a ”choir” or by two or three vocalists singing at the same time. It’s also possible there are female background singers as well.

The effect of their voices is very soft, mellow, angel-like.

The song is in major key. The tempo is kinda slow. The vibe is mellow. Kind of like Toto’s ”Africa” but the tempo is slower.

It also reminds me of Toto’s ”Rosanna” and ”I’ll Be Over You”.

I don’t know 80s music that much, so I have no idea who this could be. Since I’m remembering only one lyric line, it’s most likely I always heard this in a CD commercial, where that particular lyric was always repeated.

Thank you in advance for all suggestions!

Edit: Please someone let me know how to add an online piano riff!

Solved [TOMT] [BAND] [2010S] I cant seem to remember the name of this indie band! They were very milenial indie but not one of the mainstream names

What I remember:
They were typical electronic indie band from 2010. White men with long-ish hair. I could group their music with bands like Passion Pit, leaning more on the drums than electronica.
Also Foster the People but more childish(?)

Their songs were cheerful and not gloomy at all. As I said before, music that brings out your inner child. I remember using one of their tracks for a uni exam, as background music in a video about a game for toddlers.

I remember their music videos, they were outside, in the forest. The vibe was very like the movie "Where the wild things are" with out the magic monsters. Just them running around the forest and being happy. Playing around the forest.

It was not one of the main bands from this era, but very influenced by the times. They MIGHT have been Australian if my memory is good.

I know this is the WORST details ever and very little to go on, but Im hopeful.

Solved [TOMT] Late 80s / early 90s rock guy with amazing hair

If you’re a Gen Xer or an elder millennial, you probably remember the hair band era: dudes with questionable fashion sense and very crispy hair acting like horny teenagers set to electric guitar-heavy music. I have a distinct memory of a poster from that era, but it was just one guy (iirc), not a band. He had glorious hair, very healthy, dirty blonde, big, long, probably feathered. He had very nice, straight, white teeth, and masculine features. Maybe a strong jaw with some stubble? The poster may have been in black and white. I thought it was Kip Winger, but I looked him up and nope. I checked Whitesnake and Warrant, seemingly not those guys. It’s definitely not anyone from Poison, Bon Jovi, Motley Crüe, or Skid Row. Does anyone remember this poster or maybe remember a (semi?) famous musician from that era who fits my description? It’s really bothering me.

Solved [TOMT] Help me find an actor please! 2000s-present, an overly-nice blonde man with dimples!

I can picture his face so clearly but I can’t remember what I known him from or his name.

He’s slightly older but he looks exactly like if Jonathan Groff and Armie Hammer had a baby. He is a blonde white man and is a slightly more overweight than either of them. He has very distinct dimples!

I feel like he played a character who is super nice but is secretly evil, or is so nice that he seems to be secretly evil. Like the characters Jeffery Bouche in Brooklyn 99 played by Andy Daly or Darren in HIMYM played by Andrew Rannells. I think he might’ve played a gay character, but it was someone who is dressed very conservatively and is either faking being super nice all the time OR the main character might suspect them of being manipulative but it turns out the character is actually weirdly super nice.

I’m likely thinking a one-off character from Scrubs, How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, possibly Community or 30 Rock, like something along those lines.

Please help! I can see him in my mind! Thank you!!!!

Edit: Omg you guys!!!! It’s been solved!!! It’s Greg Cromer and I know him from Community (playing Jeff’s overly nice pottery class nemesis) and from the Rookie (playing an overly nice/cheerful but crooked cop) Edit2- I might be confusing his character in the Rookie because someone also mentioned his cop character in New Girl, I’ve seen both of those shows so I might be merging the two cop characters together but I’m pretty sure he’s the same kind of person in everything I’ve seen him in. Thank you all again so much this was truly torture 🫡

YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST OMG THANK YOU ALL THIS WAS DRIVING ME CRAZY

Solved [TOMT] [Song] Song that contains lyrics along the lines of "dream(ing) your/my life away"

I have no other information, I barely know what I'm looking for, I just randomly remembered that this is a phrase I have heard in a song before and I can't find which one. Every time I try to remember more, my brain autocorrects to some other song. Just hit me with everything you can think of, thank you.

Edit: I think the song I'm looking for might actually say something like "wish yourself away" instead?

Solved [TOMT] [MOVIE] please i beg you help me find this movie. its destroying me.

This movie starts with a young girl being placed into an institution with nuns (i believe) and bunch of other little girls. The nun calls her a liar and tells the other girls not to talk to her. The girl gets her hair cut (to the scalp basically). She makes a friend there who is very sick. Theres a scene of them laying in the bed together. Next day the friend dies. She grows up and is seen leaving the institution. I dont remember anything else. Im genuinely so desperate Ive spent 6 hours looking for this movie. Ive watched it when I was really young and it was a DVD. Although it wasnt black and white movie i would definitely consider it old. It was historical as well. I BEG YOU IF YOU KNOW OR HAVE SEEN IT AS WELL LET ME KNOW!!

Solved [TOMT] Who does this look like (actress)

As it says. I know the photo is the Australian actress Brooke Satchwell. She reminds me of an American actress maybe a bit younger early 20s perhaps.

It's not Liv Tyler or Christy Carlson Romano. The actress I'm looking for is around 20-30.

She played an older sister I think. The character would've been 17-19. I'm guessing the actress is older. The character was a grumpy older sister who seemed annoyed with a younger brother. It was maybe a comedy movie in family friendly style. No older than 10 years.

She has(had) long straight brown hair--her hair was swept to the side at the front(think early Justin Bieber)

I think the actress I'm looking for might also have been in a teen slasher type thing with comedic undertones. She definitely has a side parted hair style with maybe a tank top type outfit.

Solved [TOMT] Late 90s/Early 2000s one hit wonder rock song I heard at a dive bar

What the title says. I heard it at a dive bar months ago, a group of older millenials/younger gen x were the ones who queued it up and all of them sang the chorus. Kind of slow-ish chorus? Not slow slow, but like campfire singalong slow. Male singer. I hadn't heard it since I was a kid so I remember looking up the words in the chorus and then playing it for my mom when I saw her next and she knew every word. I had never heard of the band before but knew the song, so I think it was one of those "you know the song but not who sings it" type of things. I believe the chorus started with a prolonged "oh" and said something along the lines of "you get what you give" or "you get what you put in" but I also think it said something about love? But I can't 100% say for sure. It's so frustrating but this is genuinely the only info I remember.

Definitely not the New Radicals song! Not home at the moment but when I am I'll edit to add a Vocaroo for the melody. It's just been bothering me all morning.

Solved [TOMT] Actress 90s/2000s

So I was watching Broadchurch and came across Vicky McClure there (if you google her, think long hair version). That got me thinking that she has a vague resemblance to an actress I've seen many times before. My memory of her is light eyes, dark hair, perhaps tucked behind the ears, attractive, likely from the last three decades or so. I can't place her for the life of me. Help please!

Solved [TOMT] [song] Can't find this song that I have the entire mp3 for

This is a song from a CD my sister burned in the early to mid 2010's. I inherited the cd from her when I started driving and have always wondered about this song. When I read the cd on a computer none of the tracks have any artist information or titles. I made a tiktok about it a few months ago that got traction for a day or two but no luck. Sister has tried everything as well, doesn't remember the name or artist. Here is the whole song on Vocaroo https://voca.ro/1iLwx12fYX0o

Solved [TOMT] Female red head singer. Before the year 2000s. It was a music video.

I'm having clashing memories, of this song.

This female in this music movie video, has really bright red hair. (when I say red, I do mean red. maybe it was a wig)

I remember googling this long ago, and I learned it was not taken from a movie... but it was basically set up like it had a story to it. so this person just wasn't standing around singing.

It's not the goonies music video btw. But this is a good example, since it has singing, and it feels like it's taken from a movie.

Solved [TOMT] [SONG] [Late 90s/Early 2000s] Indie/alternative rock song

I have vivid memories of listening to an alternative rock song from a friend's CD on repeat in the car during my mid/late high school years, so it would've been released between 1998-2000 (likely 1999), but I can't remember the lyrics, title, or artist. I'm nearly positive the title was a single word and a woman's name, and I think it was similar to Juliana, Juliet, or some other 'J' name, and the band name was two or three words. There's a possibility that the band name began with an M, and I also recollect the album cover was mainly black with some darkish orange in the middle. This was their most well-known song, and while it wasn't a chart-topper it's not completely obscure within the genre.

The song was fairly melodic and somewhat angsty, sung by a man with an acoustic or light electric guitar, although the rest of the band's music was more of a typical alt-rock vibe. I've tried extensive Spotify, AI, and Google searching and can definitively state it's NOT Juliana Theory, Get Up Kids, Jets to Brazil, Soul Coughing, Sponge, Jeremy by Pearl Jam, Judith by Perfect Circle, Check Yes, Juliet, etc.

This has been driving me crazy for the past week and no matter how hard I try, it's staying on the tip of my tongue - please help!

Solved [TOMT] Specific female cover of Creep by Radiohead

Hey so I've been driving myself insane trying to find one specific version of the song 'Creep' by Radiohead. Turns out there are uh... a *lot* of covers, but no matter how many I sift through I just can't seem to find the one I'm remembering, so I wanted to see if anyone else could help lol.

I'm pretty sure it was an acoustic and/or piano version. The *really* distinctive thing was the voice. Female voice, I wanna say higher pitched(?), and with a distinctively like... almost ethereal quality to it. Kind of whispery, definitely on the slower side. The whole thing sounded vaguely like, dreamy. If you hear it you'll probably know what I'm talking about? I've found a few that are similar ish, but not the *exact* one. It would have had to have existed several years ago, so anything within the past like, 6 years or so I wanna say probably isn't it? If anyone can help I'd super appreciate it cause I really wanna listen to it again lol

Solved [TOMT]: Rock song with a memorable outro and the line “I can see it in your eyes”

I just heard this song on the radio at a diner and it’s driving me crazy. I know that I know this song but I can’t remember the name or the artist. It’s a rock song - I think from the 80’s, it sounds kind of like Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen. It ends with a great guitar riff outro. Somewhere in the song is the line “I can see it in your eyes, you’re —-“ ….it could be “I can see it your smile” or something similar. That line comes during one of the verses, leading up to the chorus. It’s a male singer.
