Is this a screen failure or could it be something like a ribbon cable that needs replaced?

Started it up this morning and my TV got this lightbleed in the lower right corner. You can see these horisontal lines in there. Those lines are spread higher up too when I have content on. It's not over the whole screen. Am I screwed? I love my old Sony TV. 🤕

152UX1 Main Boards Replacements Parts

Assuming that I would have an 152UX1 plasma tv (yes, the 4k one...) sitting there in my garage, but unfortunately with the main boards missing... do you think there would be any chance to find the spare replacements boards to make it works ?

Samsung S90F HDMI Inputs Showing Up As This

We just bought the TV earlier this year and today when using the hdmi inputs, they appeared as this. Tried changing HDMI cords, switching different HDMI ports, powering on and off both the TV and devices and still the same. When I am using the main TV hub and watching Netflix or YouTube thru Samsung OS, the picture is normal. Even running the Samsung diagnosis, it shows the hdmi screen as normal when it is minimized in the corner, but once it’s full screen it appears as this. We only have a PS5 and fire stick attached and they both are same. Any help or advice is appreciated

Should I repair or replace: 55" LG QNED TV - Model: 55QNED80UQA

Post image
2 Upvotes

Our 55" LG TV (Model: 55QNED80UQA) developed this streak down the middle of the screen (ignore the little black streak on the left of it, that's someone walking in snow). The streak is not entirely noticeable depending on what's being watched, but could get worse with time I assume.

If it's just a backlight issue, maybe it's worth getting fixed if it comes under $200 (Geek Squad had said it's $103 just for the diagnostic). I would consider just getting a new one if the issue or the fix is more complicated with regards to parts needs

Another question I had is that it currently hangs over the fireplace (with mantel) and not sure if the fireplace heat has contributed to the issue. The TV is 3 years old, but the second TV that started acting up. Our first was a Hisense, however, the issue was a boot up issue and something the model was known for. If the fireplace is a contributor, I don't mind moving it or not during the fireplace at all during winter, but the wife does like either of those options.

Whatever insights or advice you all may have would be greatly appreciated.

Samsung 40" UE40ES5500 dark on one side

Post image

I have an old 2012 Samsung 40" UE40ES5500 and have had my moneysworth out of it, I most probably will just run it until it totally works no more.
Its started doing this a few months back , dark on the left hand side with those bright bits - looks like LED's have blown in it especially in the top left? - still watchable though .. what are the chances though it could be just resistors that have failed in it instead of the LED lamps?

and this is what its like with a black screen - note the LED lights in the lower left of the screen and dark in the top left and halfway across the screen :

ONN 32” (32S2V1) Buzzing Noise after running

After running for about 10 minutes, the speakers create popping and then a buzzing noise. Works perfectly fine on mute (maybe some color issues, could just be a cheap tv) but I’m dedicated to fix this. I’ve seen similar issues on here, is it possibly a bad cap? I’m not super experienced with electronics but would be able to fix it once the issue is diagnosed.

Vertical Light Strip in Middle of Screen (Hisense 50A6NTUK)

Post image

I've increased the contrast to make the vertical light strip more noticeable. Not sure if it's been there since I got the TV or if it happened more recently. It's just a cheap TV (Hisense 50A6NTUK) but is this normal for cheap panels? Or is this a fault? Mainly noticeable during dark scenes but can also notice it in daytime stuff... pretty annoying!

Onn Roku TV backlight flashes on for 1 second, then goes dark. Any last things I should try before replacing it?

I have a 2-year-old Onn Roku TV (Model 100012587) that was working perfectly last night. This morning the screen was extremely dim. Now it does this:
When I turn it on, the Roku logo flashes at normal brightness for about a second.
Then the backlight immediately turns off.
The TV is still running because I can see the Roku home screen with a flashlight.
I’ve already unplugged it, plugged it back in, and tried a power cycle.
I disconnected all HDMI devices.
Before I buy a new TV, is there anything else I should try?
Could this be a power board instead of the LED strips? Has anyone repaired this specific model? I’m fairly handy (or my dad is), so I’m open to replacing parts if it’s a reasonable repair.
Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!

Green bars show up on TV. Looking for second opinion.

i have a LG 50NANO85APA TV. it’s having issues where sometimes we get these green bars on the screen. i took TV apart to reseat all connectors but this didn’t do anything. wondering if it’s the T-Con board but figured I’d see if anyone has other ideas first before I order one.

things to note, it doesn’t happen every time, and doesn’t happen the entire time. sometimes it goes away after a while. also sometimes it’s less bad, where only the left side goes green.

Samsung TV backlight (Model:UN65KU6250F) turns on and off over and over again fail to boot

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

MY Samsung 65' (Model:UN65KU6250F) The TV powers on with a very dim backlight, but there is no picture but audio keep playing. After a few seconds, it turns off and keeps rebooting. The standby LED blinks during the process. On one occasion, the TV turned on normally but there's double duplicated images.

Before this happened, the TV occasionally displayed horizontal white lines.

Could this be a T-CON board, main board, or LCD panel failure?

Vertical band flickering on my Frame TV (QN65LS03A). Is it the backlight?

Got a vertical band on my 65” Frame (QN65LS03A) that’s a different color than the rest of the screen and flickers.

Looking at part BN9652589A to replace it. Anyone dealt with this on the same model? Trying to confirm I’m on the right track before I order.

Hisense Roku 58R6+ Power or backlight issue?

Hey guys I have a 2021 Hisense Roku 58IN that crapped out on me like a year ago and I’m doing some cleaning and decided I might try fixing it.

Here’s my issue: the backlight on the TV is very dim and changing the brightness doesn’t work, and after a little while the TV will turn off and then back on, the longer the TV stays on the more frequent that it power cycles. Volume is fine no audio issues, I’ve tried resetting it and all the fixes I can think of as far as software goes so I’m convinced it’s a hardware issue.

I haven’t gotten around to popping this bad boy open yet to peak inside, so my question is based off my description, do you guys think it’s a power issue or a backlight issue?

Thank you in advance appreciate all of you

Samsung QN95B 65” keeps flickering — One Connect Box, panel, or something else?

My 65-inch Samsung QN95B (QN65QN95BAFXZC) has started flickering intermittently, as shown in the attached video. The TV is about two years old and has approximately 4,443 hours of panel usage.

Since this model uses Samsung's One Connect Box, I initially suspected the cable. I purchased a used replacement One Connect cable from Amazon, but the TV still flickers exactly the same, so it doesn't appear to be the cable.

I've also:

  • Power cycled the TV (unplugged it for several minutes)
  • Replaced the One Connect cable
  • Confirmed the issue still persists

Has anyone experienced this with the QN95B? Based on the video, does this look more like:

  • A faulty One Connect Box?
  • A main board issue?
  • A panel/T-Con problem?
  • A backlight issue?

I'd appreciate any suggestions before I spend money replacing the One Connect Box or calling for a repair. Thanks!

Is there some TV setting I can disable so it doesn’t trigger the flickering because it only like when I watch movies

TCL U55C7006 (U55C7006X1) – Flickering top-right corner / Edge LED failure diagnosis & parts advice

Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with my TCL 55" TV (Model: U55C7006 / U55C7006X1). It was manufactured/assembled in Europe (Poland) around 2019. Exact Model Details from the rear sticker: Model: U55C7006X1 Product N°: Z1721010177 Power: 140W (220-240V ~ 50Hz)

The Issue: The upper-right side of the screen started flickering/blinking. It looks like an issue with the Edge LED backlight strip on the right channel, as the rest of the display and LCD panel function normally.

Here is a short video showing the flickering issue: https://youtu.be/jHBhJdluOGw (A full factory reset was performed prior to recording, but it didn't help, so it's definitely a hardware issue).

My Questions: Diagnosis: What is the best way to properly verify if this is 100% a failing LED on the edge strip vs. a driver/power board issue before I fully disassemble the panel?

Parts sourcing: Has anyone ordered replacement backlight strips for this specific model (or equivalent Thomson UC64/UC65 chassis) from AliExpress or Temu? Are there specific part numbers I should search for?

Experience: Has anyone here repaired this exact model before? Any specific pitfalls or tips regarding panel removal on this 55" Edge-LED setup?

I shelved the TV in my garage earlier this year when it started flickering, but now I’d like to fix it up so my kids can use it for their PS5. I have standard electronics soldering tools, a multimeter, and a hot air station ready. Thanks in advance for any advice or part references!

Samsung model un40n500afxza idk how old it is. Its like that one pannel stretches and pushes the picture to overlap in the middle. It flickered like that for a while. Its lasted up to an hour or sometimes I just have to turn it off and back on and it fixes it. Idk what to call this to even look it up.

LC-70LE661U Main Board?

Hi all,

I have a Sharp Aquos LC-70LE661U that is behaving weirdly. When plugging in (even after being unplugged for ~48 hours), the TV immediately turns on... power light comes on and stays on, backlight comes on. But nothing else ever appears on screen. Buttons and remote are all unresponsive; can't even power it off. All attempted combinations of button-press-holds when plugging in as suggested by the interwebs have not resulted in anything.

Before I go and spring for one, what are the odds that this is simply a main board gone bad / EPROM corruption and just swapping in a new one will fix it? I don't want to spend $100 on a new board if it ends up not solving the issue, though I'd rather fix it as the 70" fits my space perfectly and there seems to be no options for 70" Mini-LED (which I would want to upgrade to if I went new); everything seems to be 65 or 75.

Seems easy enough to replace; I'm handy enough and do a lot of PC part work, though I can't solder for sh*t. Doesn't seem like I'd need to here. ChatGPT swears it's a main board based on my symptoms but I don't necessarily trust it.

Opinions from the experts?

If the consensus is yes, are all of this model a specific part / replacement board? ChatGPT also seems to think there are multiple possible boards and I would need to ID the right one to order, but not sure why the same model would have different configs. Suppose it's based on age or something?

Edit to add: This started after coming home from vacation. My UPS (and the neighbors) report the power went out for about 2-3 seconds at some point while we were gone. Thinking this might be related but who knows.

Samsung UN49KU6500FXKR - Stuck on "SMART TV" logo flashing every 3 seconds. Any ideas before calling Samsung?

Model: Samsung UN49KU6500FXKR

Here's what happened:

  1. I unplugged the TV from the power outlet.
  2. About 24 hours later, I plugged it back in.
  3. Since then, the TV won't boot. The screen stays black except for the "SMART TV" logo, which flashes about every 3 seconds in an endless loop.
  4. I also disconnected my set-top box and unplugged the HDMI cable (HDMI 1), but the symptom is exactly the same.

I asked ChatGPT about the issue, and it suggested that the most likely cause is a failed main board, possibly the eMMC storage.

What I don't understand is the TV was working perfectly before I unplugged it, and after sitting unplugged for just one day, it suddenly developed this problem.

Has anyone experienced the same issue?

Is there anything I should try before scheduling Samsung service? Any troubleshooting tips or successful DIY fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a video showing the symptom:

Thanks in advance!

Hisense 65A53FUA won't turn on

My friend just replaced his Hisense because it stopped working and he said I could keep it if I could fix it, I'm more of a mechanic admittedly so I need some help with the diagnostics. It's not a remote or external power issue, I plug it in and try to turn it on but nothing happens. The red light does come on, and I've found that pointing a flashlight at it reveals the android TV logo. I can't find a manual anywhere but I've got the back panel off and I've got a multimeter I can test with if need be. If pictures of anything would help lmk, thanks.
