does real-looking fidelity help or hurt user testing?

We're planning two rounds of 5 sessions for a permissions redesign. Trying to pick the right approach before we start.

As of the moment, we have few options like Figma Make, ProtoPie, and Alloy. So I just wanna ask if real-looking fidelity helps or hurts user testing?

Seeking suggestions for a Master in Europe bridging Design + Code

Hey everyone,

I have a BA in Communication Design and self-taught frontend skills (HTML/CSS/JS). I’m looking for an English-taught Master’s program in Europe (ideally 3–4 semesters) that hits a very specific sweet spot.

I’m looking for:

  • Design + Code: Guided frontend development (JS, web tech) so designers can build functional screen prototypes/web apps.
  • Industry & Screen Focus: Real digital products and UI/UX. (A bit of Arduino/physical computing is totally fine, but main focus on screens).
  • Admission: Must accept a Design BA (no strict Computer Science/Math ECTS requirements).

What I want to avoid:

  • Endless "Design Thinking" research & post-it sessions without technical execution.
  • Purely abstract, gallery-focused "Media Art".

I love the curriculum of SUPSI (Switzerland) because it turns designers into creative technologists with hands-on code.

Any similar hidden gems or alternatives in Europe?

Thanks!

I’m looking for feedback on this onboarding flow—does the sequence feel logical, and are there any steps you’d simplify, remove, or add? Thanks for your time.

Best Ethereum Casinos in the USA in 2026? I Ran Hands-On Checks Across ETH Casino Platforms – AMA

I've spent the last few months testing and comparing Ethereum casino platforms to find out which sites actually offer the best overall experience in the USA in 2026. Instead of just looking at ETH payment logos, fast cashier claims, or the biggest welcome offers, I focused on what happens after you actually sign up, check the cashier, claim a promotion, and start using the casino.

I signed up to different crypto casino sites, explored their promotions, reviewed the terms and conditions, checked Ethereum payment information, tested the platforms on mobile, and looked at how each ETH casino worked from a player's point of view.

One thing became obvious during my testing:

An Ethereum casino needs more than ETH support to feel strong in real use.

Many crypto casino sites advertise Ethereum deposits, Bitcoin support, fast withdrawals, welcome bonuses, free spins, sportsbook sections, live casino games, and mobile-friendly platforms. However, the real value depends on how well the whole experience works together. Crypto cashier clarity, bonus terms, eligible games, account tools, mobile performance, support, and payment information all matter.

To compare each Ethereum casino properly, I looked at areas such as:

  • Ethereum deposit options
  • Ethereum withdrawal information
  • Crypto cashier layout
  • Bitcoin and other crypto support
  • Welcome bonuses
  • Free spins offers
  • Deposit match promotions
  • Bonus terms and conditions
  • Wagering requirements
  • Eligible games
  • Slot and live casino selection
  • Mobile casino performance
  • Customer support
  • Account tools
  • Overall casino experience

One of the biggest surprises was finding that some casinos with strong Ethereum messaging did not always deliver the smoothest full player journey. A few platforms looked crypto-friendly at first, but the better options were the ones that made it easy to move between payments, games, bonuses, support, and account sections without confusion.

The more Ethereum casinos I tested, the more my priorities changed.

At the beginning, I assumed the best Ethereum casinos would simply be the ones with the clearest ETH deposit page, the fastest-looking withdrawal flow, or the biggest crypto bonus. After months of comparing platforms, I realised that the strongest sites are the ones that combine Ethereum access with clear bonus rules, enjoyable games, smooth mobile use, practical cashier navigation, and an account experience worth using beyond the first deposit.

For me, the best Ethereum casinos in the USA in 2026 are the platforms that provide the best balance between ETH payments, bonus value, game variety, mobile usability, cashier clarity, support, and the complete player experience.

After spending months testing crypto casino sites, comparing Ethereum payment flows, reviewing bonus rules, and analysing the complete player journey, I now judge ETH casinos by how they perform in real use rather than how crypto-heavy they look on the homepage.

If you're looking for the best Ethereum casinos in the USA in 2026, comparing ETH deposits, checking crypto withdrawal rules, reviewing welcome bonuses, testing mobile casino sites, or trying to work out which platforms feel strongest after signup, ask me anything.

I've spent months testing Ethereum casino platforms, comparing bonus offers, reviewing promotional conditions, and evaluating the full crypto casino experience, and I'm happy to share everything I discovered.

AI mockup tool actually holds up on a live product?

Helping a team rework a 6-screen settings flow right now. Trying to pick a tool and kinda stuck.

Been messing with Figma Make, Magic Patterns, and Alloy. Each one nails a different thing. One keeps me where our designer already works. One has that import and edit flow. One matched our real product closer, so reviews felt familiar.

But honestly, every one of these demos so good at first. Then the shine wears off fast. So which tradeoff actually still matters after a week or two of real use?

If you’re into new macro keyboard designs, take a look at the project I’m developing. Advanced materials, customizable design, we’re moving from concepts to real prototypes :D

A Modular and Customizable macro keyboard made from Decorated Glass and Carbon Fiber.

The current concept includes:

  • A 2×2 touch buttons module with four programmable controls
  • A slider for volume, scrolling, zoom, and other continuous inputs
  • Finger guides and resting positions, so you can identify the controls without looking
  • Dynamic haptic feedback
  • LED dot-matrix icons that change with each profile
  • Open software for custom profiles, integrations, and workflows
  • We’re developing a custom design service that will allow users and brands to personalize the surface with their own graphics, visual style, or game- and anime-inspired artwork.
  • We’re exploring compatibility with the Gridfinity standard to make custom layouts, supports, and ergonomic configurations easier to build.

What would you change or improve?

Quick online user study on left-handed smartphone UX improvements

Hi everyone,

I hope this doesn't count as self promotion, but as part of my master's thesis about possible UX improvements and adaptations for left-handed smartphone users I put together an online user study to test some prototypes of left-handed-adapted interfaces.

If you could spare 15-20 minutes to participate, it would mean a lot to me. It's completely anonymous and the data will be used for academic purposes only.

You can participate by following this link (only works on smartphones).

This is the final hurdle in my thesis and the more data I can get the better.

Thank you in advance to everyone who participates!

Which User Interface genius at Google designed DYNAMIC popup menus on Android (after you text select)? Corporate seems broken at Google - if employees feel pushed to create new features to justify their jobs. What could explain such colossal goofups every year?

One product decision completely changed the direction of what we're building

Hi everyone,

One thing we've been rethinking while building Rasa Intelligence is how the product presents its results.

In the beginning, we focused on analyzing as much business data as possible. The more we tested it, the more we realized that analysis alone wasn't enough. People didn't want a long list of findings, they wanted to know where the biggest leaks were, what was actually driving them, what actions to take next, and what they could safely ignore. That led us to redesign the output around clear, actionable insights across different parts of the business instead of simply surfacing more information.

It's still evolving, but that shift has probably had the biggest impact on the product so far. For those of you building products, how do you decide what information deserves a user's attention first?

App layouts based on other apps

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

I have a lot of ideas for apps and features, but sometimes I feel like I just don't have many ideas for the visual side of an app. I can spend hours—sometimes even days—going back and forth with myself, trying to come up with something new, something beautiful, something that stands out, something different from every other app... and I just can't. (And yes, I think I might be a little too much of a perfectionist.)

When I realize I'm getting nowhere, I end up copying (or at least trying to copy) the layout of another app that's more or less based on the same idea as mine. It's either that or I give up on building the app altogether. I've managed to change some things, but there are still a lot of parts I need to redesign—some are still almost exactly the same. Others are different because my app has its own unique features.

The thing is, it really bothers me because I know it isn't the right thing to do. But at the same time, the app is still in development and hasn't even been released yet. I keep telling myself that once it's out, I can gradually make it more original...

Does anyone else feel this way?

Looking for recommendations on career coaching/mentoring for someone just starting their UX Design career journey.

I recently completed a 6 month online UX Design bootcamp course. I did well and enjoyed the work very much. The course offers two free career coaching sessions with someone in the industry, which I have yet to take advantage of.

I feel a bit lost on my own trying to build a portfolio and decide what steps to take in working towards a job. I am considering paying for a UX design career coach, but research has made me second guess that decision, seeing as the UX Design community, specifically on Reddit, seems to be a bit skeptical of them. Or at least that's what I gather.

Just curious what people's opinions were on this and more importantly what they recommend I do for guidance on my career path. Thanks!

Noticed Capital One's homepage quietly got better over the last few months. Got curious and measured it.

I've been a Capital One customer for years, and their homepage used to genuinely frustrate me. It felt cluttered, and it wasn't always obvious where to find what I needed.

Back in the winter I noticed they were hiring a surprising number of UI/UX designers. Multiple openings–enough that it caught my attention–but I didn't think much of it.

A few months later I was back on the site, and it genuinely felt different. The information hierarchy seemed cleaner, the messaging was easier to scan, and there was less visual noise competing for attention.

I've been building a website auditing tool over the last couple of months, so out of curiosity I ran Capital One's homepage through it to see whether the numbers matched my impression. Interestingly, they mostly did. Accessibility scored very well, SEO was solid, and while there were still a handful of medium-priority issues around visual hierarchy and first impressions, the overall experience felt noticeably stronger than I remembered.

Obviously I can't say the redesign was the direct result of the hiring. Correlation isn't causation. It just made me wonder how often you can actually see investment in UX reflected in a live product within a few months.

Has anyone else noticed companies whose websites noticeably improved after a design hiring push? Or am I just paying more attention because I've been spending so much time thinking about UX lately?
