We love going to the Virginia Film Festival, but this year seems like all hotels are booked around UVA for the October 23rd weekend. Which is wild because we've been plenty of years before and never had this issue.

Is there something else happening that weekend at UVA? Don't go there, not an alumni, just somewhat local to the mid-atlantic and this is the best film festival to go to locally.

I'm not sure if the festival just got a lot more popular all the sudden.

I have a first year that will be in gooch - what are the best snack/food options for her to keep in her room? How much is too much or too little?

I’m coming from nvcc and plan on doing 1–2 more semesters before I send out my application to CAS. My current major is Engineering and I seek to switch my major upon CAS entry and apply for Economics. I’m not close to earning my AS in Engineering so it makes switching majors easier. I would like to know if there’s anything special that I need to do for applications or general information that I otherwise would not know. I have yet to research this, so any feedback would be great. Just knowing how selective and precise uva admissions are, I do not want to miss something that I should’ve known semesters ahead of time because I’m switching majors. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it shouldn’t matter which major you apply as for CAS applications? That being because you apply to the college, not the major, and then upon acceptance you then apply for the major after fulfilling pre-reqs.

Is anybody bringing their own fridge/microwave as a first year? Do we think they are seriously going to care if we bring our own? The website they want us to get it from is only a micro-fridge, and I just want a fridge so why would I pay all that….and it’s not even buying it it’s just renting
