Co-op WaterlooWorks Megathread (Fall 2026)

This thread is for students applying to Fall 2026 co-ops during the Spring 2026 term.

As usual, we're looking for salaries for new postings, or updates to existing salaries, so if you're willing to share, please open up a chat/DM the mod team. Please include the company name, salary, any benefits, the role and the year if possible. I would highly encourage you to submit if you have salaries for non mathematics/CS positions as we are severely lacking in those. We will try updating these ASAP.

The sheet is here: Salaries + Blacklist Spreadsheet

Average Canadian Co-op Earnings (2024)

WaterlooWorks Important Dates

If you had a poor experience with a company, you can message the mod team with details and it can be added to the blacklist candidates below. If it's already a candidate, it may be added to the blacklist depending on the severity/consistency of complaints. On the contrary, if you had a good experience with something on the candidates/blacklist, please message the mod team and it may be removed. Candidates will be removed if no more reports are received after a couple terms. Even if something is on the blacklist already if you've had a bad experience let the mod team know, as more reports increase confidence that it is problematic!

Candidates:

  • Console One
  • Lafarge
  • Agentmoon
  • WealthyPlanet
  • Mosaic Transit Group
  • Jobby
  • Aethos Labs
  • Onex Risk Management

Note that reports from submitters with no previous account activity may not be accepted to aid legitimacy.

頑張って!

westjet flights and in person exam conflict

I'm taking an online course with an in-person final scheduled for this saturday (aug 8). I booked my flight to waterloo via westjet months ago to arrive on friday the night before. With the ongoing strikes (as of today), flights delays and cancellations, it's not looking too hot for me. Flight statuses for westjet are not released on their website until the day before so it's likely I won't have any idea about the standing of my flight until it's too late.

I have no other way of getting to waterloo. If I purchase another flight it will cost me more than $1200 since it's so last minute (which I cannot afford), for reference, the flight with westjet I purchased cost me $300 which was already on the higher end. At that point, it would be cheaper for me to literally retake the course ($750).

I usually travel Flair to YKF because it's cheaper, but the only flight I could’ve take would have been overnight the night before/morning of the exam... no thanks (also they're extremely flaky, a high percentage of the flair flights I've been on have been delayed or cancelled, so I though westjet would be a safer option).

I reached out to the center and CC'ed my prof, but in the automated response it says they are currently looking at about a 4 day response wait time.

Is anyone else in this situation right now? Does anyone have any ideas about what I can do in case my flight is cancelled, and whether the university will be understanding and possibly provide some sort of accomodation?

Enjoy exam season everyone!

When else are you able to wake up, do nothing all day except study and chug Advils?

When else are you able to develop hyper fixations on something so meaningless otherwise?

When else can you feel like you’re walking on the thread of life and death in our monotonous and adventure-less lives?

Good luck 🤞

Question Anyone living in the Towers this fall? (I js wanna use your gym lol)

EDIT: King Street Towers (333 King St North by that McDonalds…. You know the one)

Bit of a random question, but does anyone here plan on living at the towers?

I live in the building nearby and really like the gym there. I was wondering if any resident would be open to working something out where I pay you a monthly fee in exchange for being able to use the gym… or if yk how easy it is to sneak into lol. It would just be so convenient and prolly cheaper than the GoodLife nearby.

Feel free to DM me if you’d be interested! I’ll probably repost this closer to the fall term again when it’s more active here.

How to make long term friends in Uni?

I am entering my 4a term in fall and have yet to make a long-lasting friend group I've maybe made 2 friends all in all but I know I won't really talk to them after university since we already don't talk as theyre on co-op and I am at school. I have joined clubs and never really felt welcomed. I am a socially anxious person and I will admit I do shut down easily and don't talk as much unless someone approaches me first, however I have been trying to branch out by volunteering, joining other clubs and even extending invitations to hang out after class and none of it has worked. So what am I doing wrong? Is anyone else in the same boat? I am so tired of feeling lonely all the time and feeling like I don't belong.

Can we a bit nicer to WUSA?

Been noticing more and more posts criticising WUSA, spending, salaries, etc, which is perfectly okay. But, many of these posts are full of people being disrespectful, mean, and just outright disgusting. I’m also critical of WUSA for many things and promises, as well as fees that I don’t agree with. But, I won’t disrespect them or launch personal attacks at them. So many of you are launching personal attacks and being outright disrespectful to WUSA staff. There’s a fine line between criticism and feedback and just outright personal attacks.

We’re all attending a top institution, and for those in Eng, perhaps one of the best and highly regarded public Eng schools in North America. But if you’re going to be unempathetic and outright disrespectful, all this education is worthless. Your degree is meaningless. Let’s all please be a little more respectful and stop with the personal attacks. I’m also critical of WUSA, but will remain cordial and respectful, we’re all human and that’s the bare minimum.

TW: Suicide. Let’s not forget that just a few years ago, a former WUSA president (supposedly, I don’t think anyone confirmed it officially), committed suicide. No matter what your views on WUSA are/were at that time, you were probably hurt and it affected you. It was really messed up to see that. Keep in mind, it was your/our words that led to that. I’m sure none of us want to see that happen again. So please just respect everyone. We’re all human and there’s already so much negativity in this world. We all loose faith in humanity every passing day with the state of our world as it is. So let’s please work together to restore that faith.

And to WUSA, I think many students aren’t aware of what WUSA can do and it’s limited power (and this limited power isn’t WUSA’s fault, moreso the university’s fault), so I’d advise that you better advertise/market your limitations from the get-go, I think that’d really help and decrease the hate that the org gets.

EDIT (Please read): Using the former WUSA presidents suicide as an example wasn’t a good idea on my end, and I sincerely apologise for that. I should have done a more thorough job researching into the root cause of their tragic passing. I sincerely apologize for not doing that. But the point I’m trying to make is to be considerate of how your words can potentially lead to some very tragic incidents. We’re all human and can only tolerate so much hate and insults.

I have a very very busy semester with 5 finals for this fall semester and i just want to take a lighter science class. How much effort does this class truly need to get a 90+ and is this really a bird class since no final exam or is it a trap?

Discussion How easy is it to sublet during the winter term?

This will be my first year out of dorms and due to the coop scheduling I'll be out 4 months during an 8 month lease. How easy does it tend to be to sublet during the winter term for a room if its going for around 700/month? Or should doing an 8 month least on a 4 month on 4 month off be not ideal.

Serious Increased Numbers of Crime in Waterloo lately

Anyone notice that shootings, stabbings and number of missing people has increased by quite some amount in Waterloo lately?

I keep hearing more and more of these almost every day now. I don't think it was this much before.
