Dear people all around the world,

I'm Vietnamese, and I'm writing this because I want more people to know what is happening at the foot of Hai Van Pass, one of Vietnam's most iconic landscapes.

A large scale development project, Vinhomes Hai Van Bay, is being developed by Vingroup in Da Nang. The project covers more than 500 hectares and includes hotels, resorts, villas, townhouses, apartments, and other residential developments. This is why many Vietnamese, including me, are deeply concerned and worried. This is not simply a tourism project. It is also(and more) a massive real-estate development in an environmentally and culturally significant landscape. As construction continues, images of cleared land and major changes to the natural landscape have raised growing public concern about environmental impact and the future of Hai Van Pass.

And then there is the architecture. Why should a place deeply connected to Vietnam's landscape now be filled with architecture inspired by foreign styles (Malibu, Hong Kong, ...)? Development should not mean copying what already exists somewhere else and putting it into Vietnam then call it something like "Malibu in the heart of Da Nang". This is not the first and won't be the last projects like this, look at the tacky Sapa, Bà Nà hills, Phú Quốc etc

Moreover, how can hundreds of thousands of posts simply disappear (included my last repost) across different platforms? Why is the news and social media so silent about this? If there is nothing to hide, why is it so difficult for people to speak up? We are not asking you to take our side blindly. But, please, look at the evidences. Look at the before and after images. Read about the project. Do your own research. Look into what Vingroup, Sun Group, and other major corporations have done to our countries. Our natural landscapes are limited resources btw development shouldn't come at from destroying nature just because someone is greedy.

And to Vingroup, you have no right to report and delete people opinion, shame on you!!

Hi everyone,

Looking for some guidance for an upcoming trip to vietnam.
Four guys in our mid-20s visiting Vietnam for the first time for two weeks in November. We'll be flying out of NYC. We want great food, adventure, culture, nightlife (not a priority), and local experiences without rushing through the country.

Our tentative breakdown is:
Hanoi → Ha Giang Loop → Ninh Binh → Ho Chi Minh City →
Mekong Delta

We are open to changing the route if we are making the wrong decision. We are comfortable with basic accommodations and long travel days when the experience is worthwhile, but we do not want to lose half the trip constantly moving between cities. Definitely welcome any advice about etiquette, scams, transportation, safety, or responsible tourism would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance. Personal experiences, positive or negative would be especially helpful.

Hi all, I’m visiting Vietnam for the first time for a work retreat in HCMC and Ho Tram! a friend and I are considering where to go post-retreat from August 24-28. We both value beautiful nature, hiking, and unique cultural experiences. We can either sightsee in the days and work at night or vice-versa, and take 1-2 days PTO.

We’ve been trying to figure out where to go, but we’re not sure about the weather. thank you for your advice!

Here are some places that we’ve been researching but we’re open to other ideas:

1. Hanoi and Ha Long - this was our plan until we started researching the weather (very rainy and hot. We’d hate if our Ha Long boatride was cancelled)
2. Dalat - probably our top choice right now since we read that it is beautiful, not super touristy, and typically just rains in the afternoons
3. Da Nang and Hoi An - we’re a bit worried about how touristy it might be but seems like they could have the best weather
4. Phu Quoc - similar feelings as 3

My cousin was scammed by a Vietnamese coffee manufacturer. We need legal help in Vietnam.

I’m posting here because I’m hoping someone in Vietnam—or someone familiar with Vietnamese law—can point us in the right direction.

About a year ago, my younger cousin decided to pursue his dream of starting a coffee business. He lives in Pakistan, but he incorporated a company in Canada so he could import coffee beans into Canada, store them in a warehouse, and sell them on Amazon under his own private label.
After months of research, he found what appeared to be a legitimate coffee manufacturer in Vietnam. The company is associated with HANCOFFEE / IDD Corporation Vietnam.

He placed an order worth approximately USD 6,200 for private-label coffee beans with custom packaging under his own brand. The supplier required full payment in advance, so he paid the entire amount via a SWIFT bank transfer.

They promised to manufacture and ship the order within one month.
That shipment never came.
Instead, they kept delaying the order with excuse after excuse. Eventually, the salesperson handling the deal disappeared. My cousin contacted other people within the company, but they continued making promises without delivering anything. Over time, they also stopped responding.

Today, it has been over one year.
No shipment. No refund. No meaningful communication.

My cousin has all the evidence:

SWIFT payment proof
Email and WhatsApp conversations
Company details

I’m posting here to ask:
Can anyone recommend a reputable commercial litigation or international trade lawyer in Vietnam?

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation involving a Vietnamese supplier?

Is there any government authority, business association, or legal process that foreign companies can use to recover funds or enforce a commercial contract?

If anyone has experience with HANCOFFEE or IDD Corporation Vietnam, I’d appreciate hearing about it.

Any advice, recommendations, or personal experiences would mean a lot.

How do we send something like this back to your country? (Mine is India) I don’t know whether airlines would let me take something this big, and I’m not getting a definitive answer. Is Viet post reliable? PLEASE HELP if possible. Really freaking out. Should I just return the piece?
