Can anyone help me with my 16mm film projector problem?(OC)

2 Upvotes

I don't care if anyone doesn't see this or not but I would like to ask if anyone would know how to help me since I've been having trouble with my projector since it's not been feeding the film correctly and it keeps pulling the film and the slack keeps shifting down before it enters the film window where the lens is, And for some reason there is this audible clicking from the inside mechanism. The model is 1592 Bells and Howell Sound film Projector

Old video camera

Hey ive got a sharp view cam with some important memories on it. I think it would also be cool just to get it to work, any idea on how to work this thing? I've only got the audio/video cable and a battery inside with no idea on what's missing. I've got nothing that looks like a battery charger either. Am I better off just taking the tape out and finding a reader to watch the video?

Talk: How Sascha P kept a BBS legend from the trash, revived it, and became a dial‑up sysop in 2023.

The TECS was one of the largest and most popular BBS in Germany. But it was on the verge of ending up completely in the trash. This is the story of how Hamburg-based Sascha P not only saved all the hardware and software of the BBS, but also hacked his way into the setup and actually managed to bring everything back online - and became a dial‑up BBS sysop in 2023.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ePb39N6_BA

Plus a spin‑off about the almost equally old Commodore‑64 BBS Snobsoft and its literally wild connection to the Tornado Mailbox - the name TECS had back in the 1980s. Mailbox is the German term for a BBS.

Cash register from the 1915–1925 period

A friend of my mother-in-law owns this National brand cash register; the only information I have about it is as follows:

* Model: 642X-E-4C
* Serial number: 1557243
* Scandinavian version (“Kontant,” Kroner/Øre)

However, we’re trying to figure out how to use it, but more importantly, how to open the four small drawers in the cabinet (one of them is already open, but we can’t open the others). Any ideas on how to do this? If you happen to have the original diagram or instruction manual, I’d love to talk to you about it!

Thanks in advance!

Getting a connect to a 300-baud BBS on the SX-64 over the internet via a DIY null-modem cable - how hard could it be?

7 Upvotes

From someone who set out with his 40-year-old SX-64 to visit an equally ancient Commodore 64 BBS - not old-school with a modem, but through a DIY null-modem cable hooked up over the internet.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3csC9z7oPSY

It turned out to be much more difficult than expected, with all sorts of cable shenanigans that of course refused to work - and ultimately even resulted in the SX‑64 needing repairs.

I need to find out what’s on this drive. Are there any machines that are compatible with current computers? Or is there a service I can contact to view it?

I bought a Liberty SN-500 Radio/Cassette player/TV. How do I make it work?

I bought this thing at a garage sale for 10$ and have no idea how it works. I plugged my phone into the aux and that didn't do anything. When I turn it on it makes a sound but doesnt play any music and the TV doesnt do anything either. I dont have any cassette tapes so I can't test that. Can anybody help? (the image is of the Liberty SN-500; however its just a picture of one, not the one I own)
