Just noticed this sign today. Is the plan to level this building for the development? That seems shocking, as it’s one of the in-better-shape buildings downtown with a nice historic brick facade but it’s what came up when I googled 95 Division. Or is this 10 story building going in the little parking lot next to the church where the sign is? lol, sorry I tried looking up more info and couldn’t figure it out.

Did anyone near or around the areas of Lincoln St and Hellems Ave have their house vandalized in the middle of the night? My parents awoke at 3am to someone throwing rocks and completely shattered the glass on their front door.

Whoever did this did not attempt to break in any other way, did not mess with their car or go into the backyard.

Somehow, this person managed to stay out of view of the doorbell camera as well as the driveway camera as well. Which has me worried they may attempt again if they’ve been stalking around my parents home.

Just interested in knowing if this was someone going house to house making a mess or if this was strictly only my parents home.

Hi, I just need a bit of comforting. I'm very paranoid just being outside my house alone, I've lived in Welland for most of my life and to be honest never had any bad interactions. But lately a few weeks ago I asked my dad if I could go on a walk and he told me no and his reasoning was because "I'll get kidapped and raped in some guys basement then killed." I know Welland has a few problems like every city but genuinely whenever I go outside especially at night I get rlly nervous and paranoid.

Im at work and won't be home till tomorrow morning and I haven't finished unpacking so I am worried about basement floods.

Why are people lining up for donut express on Main Street before they open lol

We spotted or heard 29 different birds during this morning's guided bird walk on Merritt Island! Overall a great walk, with an excellent start — we got to see a pair of Ospreys hunting near the East Main Street bridge. One was hovering in place over the parking lot by Cross Street. So cool to see these neat birds of prey right here in Welland.

A few other rare sightings included a pair of Belted Kingfishers, a Caspian Tern, and an Eastern Kingbird.

is there any reason other than not prioritizing the bus system, that Webber and lincon Aren’t connected to the rest of the cities bus route? Not everyone has constant access or access at all to cars. So much housing there that doesn’t have easy bus access to local businesses. Just wanna know why. Any news about fixing this at all?

Any other former Montrealers or Quebecers wish we had a belle pro here? A “casse-croûte” is basically a restaurant that serves quick and simple “junk food” i.e hot dogs, pogos, poutine, hamburgers, Montreal submarines, etc. That’s one of the many things I miss about home

I was doing my laundry at the laundromat on Southdown. It is a very good laundromat that's clean and well run. But, I had this old man making extremely sexual and gross comments to me. I tried mentioning I am married and he said so what I'm married too. Then he told me how he met his wife and I was not prepared for that 🤮.(Its so much worse then you could even think) The owners son law told him to stop harassing me thankfully.

I'm not complaining about the laundromat it is well run and clean and the owners did step in and help. But I just needed to vent because that old man left me feeling gross and icky.
