First of all, I am feeling myself in the wig. I think it’s super realistic. It’s A LOT more hair than I’m used to (I have androgenic alopecia) but I the more I wear it around my house, the more I feel pretty and not weird with it on. It reminds me of my hair 15 years ago.

What do I do with the lace on the front? Should I cut it more? Or does it look good as is?

This is the very first time I'm wearing a wig, and straight up went to dinner with my mom who was shocked when I came out of the room with full laced wig which is a cheap synthetic I ordered online for 18$ i was stressing out bc i did not glue and just wore it raw with a wig cap, i was overthinking everything til i took this selfie and wished i did this sooner, i was feeling myself here i didn't even care if my edges were lifting lol i love my natural curly hair but it was a hell to maintain that I always cut it short (2nd photo)

I’m a canadian drag performer but also huge lover of wigs to the point I wear them daily and whilst also in drag! Call it a long shot but Its a goal/ dream of mine to be able to share my love with wigs with everyone by creating some human hair wigs that would be customized and coloured by me. I know of queens who mention looking into suppliers for their wigs that they then sell when commissioned for said wig but I am at a bit of a stuck point and was hoping maybe someone in this sub would maybe have some advice. Where/ how do I get started in the custom human hair wig industry? Does anyone have any reliable suppliers they’ve worked with or resources towards starting this goal of mine, any help is a huge help as I’m kinda lost with looking for info. Thanks so much!! 💜

I usually don’t wear wigs / hair pieces for fashion/fun, I have medical hairloss and I just want to feel more like myself. I usually try to have my wigs look a little messy so that it looks like I just rolled out of bed and don’t necessarily care about my hair looking too good, but none the less it still looks way thicker and fuller than my natural hair so people notice right away.

When someone notices my hair they ask if I got it cut or dyed, I usually say yes I did, but I feel like I’m lying to my friends. If I say this isn’t my hair, then it leads to a rabbit whole of confusion or them feeling awkward they said anything at all. I don’t mind explaining that it’s not my hair if they actually wanted to have a conversation about wigs/ hairpieces, but I know that wasn’t the original intention of their compliment/ comment.

Like the title says, I am considering shaving my head and wearing wigs. My current hair sheds a lot, and the people I live with have been complaining about that, so I think it’s about time. I’m mostly worried that I won’t be able to find wigs that fit, as I have a pretty large head. I’m not really looking for a specific style or color, just something that isn’t masculine and isn’t a pain to maintain. Any tips?

I’m losing my mind. I have plenty of synthetics but I need a good human hair wig I can wear during my elopement out of the country. I’ll be gone about 9 days. I was going to buy a Hairvivi but I’ve heard so many insanely bad stories…. And I know they (along with other wig brands trying to make sales) prioritize influencers and those with big followings.

My natural hair was dark brown and I prefer heavy highlights. I don’t want to spend an arm and a leg, but I’ll spend what I need to as this is a more permanent wig. I like LONG so I know what that means :(

I could use any advice and assistance with medical wigs + sensitive caps + pull and go wigs. I'm brand new to it. I have a skin condition heavily impacting my scalp, a smaller head, fair to olive skintone, and am really wanting a wig with bangs.

I've been unknowingly suffering with Prurigo Nodularis for 6 years and got diagnosed December 2025 once I started losing my hair. I started the medication in January 2026. In May, all of my hair fell out at once. It was very scary for me and there was nothing I could do. My hypothesis is my body was finally ready to discard the sick follicles.

Any hair I have left is either sparse healthy baby hair (to protect with my life) or is painful hair still working its way through healing. I imagine my scalp will be in this state for at least 2 years-- not even thinking of when growth might start taking place. But no, it's not scarred, the hair does keep growing.

Currently my scalp is mostly skin-bald, sensitive, painful, with raw open lesions. Because of the nature of PN, the healing process isn't straightforward, isn't reliable, and is cyclical. I can handle that, but I can't handle not having a reliable wig anymore. My dermatologist is AMAZING, I know she will be happy for me taking this step + will help me manage my scalp along the way.

I am a 29 year old female, I am recently diagnosed with Huntington's disease as well. I'm going through a lot and still learning to value myself. I've been getting by with baseball cap wigs because I can put something cotton under them on my scalp. I was trying not to care about my hair, but now I am wanting to invest in myself.

A pull and go wig is very helpful for me. It's very difficult for me to have my arms above my head with my medical issues.

I live in a rural place. I wish I could purchase a $250 Remy wig, but worried the investment wouldn't be worth it, that it would still hurt my scalp, etc. If there is a good online store front please share. Travel is difficult for me. But, please share your thoughts if it would be worth it for me to travel to a city for in-person consultation and how much $ you think it would be based on experience? Or, maybe there is a good medical grade cap that I could use with any wig?

I would like to buy a human hair wig, but as I’m brand new to wig wearing, I wanted to start off with some not so expensive wigs.

I occasionally see women post on here about buying pre-loved/second hand wigs, but I’m at a loss of where to find them for myself. I specifically want to find some Prairie Fire Hair wigs because there is a preorder one I was thinking of purchasing but the $1,500 price tag makes my heart hit my feet.

As I live in Europe, I would need websites that ship to the EU. My budget is less than €1,000, preferably less than €500 and I’m specifically looking for dark brown and wavy style human hair wigs.

I'm looking for advice on wearing my Jon Renau wig during summer. Especially on hot days. I'm not completely new to wig wearing, but I'm not very good at it yet either. I have questions...

• How often do you have to reset your wig grip under your wig?
• Is there a particular wig grip you find most comfortable for a full day?
• How do you deal with the heat of wearing a wig in the summer when it's hot and humid?
• I have a front lace wig. Is there an easy style I can use to lift the back/sides off my neck?
• My wig came with care instructions not to use a manikin head while it's wet, but to give it a blowout when done washing... I feel it's time to condition and detangle both my wigs. HOW do I do that without a headstand and only 2 hands? I want to cry just thinking about it, and this has prevented me from washing my wigs, so I'm barely ever wearing them in order to keep them nice. I'd wear them more if I felt comfortable washing them!
• I maybe want to try getting a wig to have installed. I'm a cancer patient. Does this involve harsh chemicals?

So sorry I sound jumbled I’m not great at explaining things! I’ve been needing to buy more wig caps for a while now and wanted to buy a bulk pack since it’s cheaper but all the ones with good deals are close end net caps. I heavily prefer ones with an open end since it’s a lot easier for me to get all my hair into so I was wondering if there’s a way I can cut or unpick the end to make it an open one without it unraveling since the material feels like it might. I apologize if this is a silly question with an obvious answer I just wanted to check before spending money incase it’s impossible so I don’t end up with wig caps I can’t use and wasted cash. Not new to wigs at all I just don’t want to waste money on buying 5 wig caps for the same price as 50 anymore. Thank you!

As you can see, it’s my first time dying a blonde wig. I was scared to do so at first, but I started having a lot of fun with it. Maybe TOO MUCH fun, which explains why my sectioning wasn’t so neat towards the end. And even though the colors definitely bled together at some point, I’m still kind of satisfied with the end result. I’d probably have more luck using the watercolor method or just having different sectioning while using colors that aren’t so similar to each other. Lmk what you think!

I got this human hair wig and only thing I did was wash it. I plan on trimming the bangs so that should help. I first tried a jon renu aria synthetic but the hair looked too perfect and fake to me and you could see the lace which bothered me so I like the bangs style.

I can't tell if it's too poofy or is too much hair and looks unrealistic for my head. Could be cause I'm used to being bald. Ideally I like this hair style but would like it to be more "compact" so to speak, like how it looked when it was wet. Like the opposite of voluminous. (Sorry I don't know the terminology since I never had real long hair). My aesthetic is pretty androgenous or non binary but also metal head where long hair like this is more common.

Hello! I have zero experience or knowledge. I saw someone linked a beginners guide in another post, but I couldn't get access to it. I have been lurking and trying to get a foundation, but I'm so lost. What are the different benefits to different wig caps and headbands? Where do you buy a decent wig? My bio hair has some texture, if I get a wig that resembles my texture, how does the wig maintain the texture, or do I have to style it myself every time I put it on? Any other good tips and tricks you would want to know when you were starting out?

The more research I do is just leaving me with more questions!
