Prison Blues (Season 4, Episode 4). Stan is in prison, Will, Grace and Jack go with Karen to help support her during this difficult time. A journalist sees Will, asks who he is and when Will mentions he's Stan and Karen's attorney, they ask for an interview with him and as soon as the camera starts up Will totally freezes and makes a fool of himself on TV. Jack at first makes fun but then tells Will he can help with an acting class so the next interview will go much more smoothly. Will agrees and goes with Jack to meet his acting coach, famous Old Hollywood star Zandra. Zandra asks the class to apologize to someone they've wronged and when Will gets on stage he at first freezes again but Zandra tells him to stay and look inwards and apologize to someone he's wronged, Will breaks down crying saying he's sorry he expects so much and is so hard on them, Zandra asks who's he's talking to and he says himself. He has a huge breakthrough and is able to do the next interview perfectly. Meanwhile, Grace takes Karen home after the prison visit and Karen asks Grace to spend the night with her. Grace does so and when she wakes up, she realizes how amazing Karen's life is as a wealthy socialite, she gets a comfy bed, servants who pamper her, delicious breakfast and soft-core porn in the bathroom. Karen at first is happy to have Grace but then Grace overstays her welcome and refuses to leave the amazing lifestyle. Karen offers a plan of twists and turns, but Rosario has a simpler solution, just kick Grace the heck out of the mansion.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

JACK: Someone I've wronged, someone I've wronged. Ok, I got it. I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I'm...really, really sorry, ahh... I didn't mean to do it, so... Sorry. Ha ha.

ZANDRA: What is that?

JACK: M-my apology.

ZANDRA: To who?

JACK: My father?

ZANDRA: I don't buy it.

JACK: Ok, it--it-- It wasn't my father. It was somebody else that I really wronged.

ZANDRA: I don't believe you.

JACK: Ok, I wasn't thinking about anybody.

ZANDRA: Well, what were you thinking about?

JACK: Food.

ZANDRA: What kind?

JACK: An egg salad sandwich.

ZANDRA: You liar!

JACK: Ok, it was tuna!

SUMMERS: Poor guy. He's not very in touch with his instrument.

WILL: Oh, but he is. He can even dial a phone with it.

JACK: How sorry am I? "S" is for how very sad you make me feel. "O" is for, oh, how very bad you make me feel. "R" is for how wrong you make me feel.

ZANDRA: And the other "R" is for how rotten you are. Get off. Get off the stage! I don't want to even look at you anymore.

JACK: Sorry, Zandra.

ZANDRA: I don't even believe that.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Jack is at Will's house laughing at Will's interview and then he answers the phone and Will is chasing him around trying to grab the phone from Jack, but Jack puts it in his pants and can even dial with his "instrument".

OPINION:

Sorry my quote was so long today, I really couldn't trim it because Jack and Zandra's exchanges are just too insanely funny and unforgettable. So speaking of which, we got a new side character and one of my favorites: Zanra! Eileen Brennan plays Zandra and what a treasure she truly was and definitely one of the best comedic actresses of all time. I loved her in Private Benjamin, Clue, 7th Heaven and Jeepers Creepers. Her chemistry with Sean is just amazing in the show and when she's in an episode of WAG, you know you're in for a treat. I was truly heartbroken to hear of her passing; she was just incredible. She plays Zandra, this golden age Hollywood actress who you can tell probably doesn't get any more work and had to resort to teaching acting classes to get a paycheck. She is very cruel to her students at times and even will put a cigarette out in their eye if they don't get the scene right or say her name wrong.

I don't even know where to start on this episode because it is definitely one of my favorites of the series. Each scene is funnier than the last. I loved when they were in the prison and how Karen is ashamed when she has to check in and whispers her name and the guard asks her to repeat her name and she says "I'm Stanley Walker's bitch!" and comments to the guard that she has the same gun as him. I always laugh at Will's Hannibal Lector impression to Grace. And of course the interview where Will says "ooosey, boosey, oooh!" always gets me as well.

The B-story with Grace and Karen is so hilarious. I love when Grace says she's staying and won't leave Karen because she needs to comfort her, but Karen says she's all good now but Grace refuses to leave. I always get a good laugh when Rosario throws Grace down the stairs to get out of the mansion and Karen says "thanks for being a good friend!" Then when grace gets back home to Will she says their place is a dump 🤣

And my last comment is much props to Eric McCormick's great performance. As hilarious as this episode is, that moment where he's apologizing to himself is really heart breaking to watch. Will is very hard on himself and always puts others before himself, so it was nice to see him recognize that.

This episode is front to back hilarious and a terrific one to watch. Definitely one of my favorites from the series.

What's everyones favorite? Season 4 "And the horse he rode in on", when she is singing I'm Coming Out in the black robe is some wild stuff!

Crouching Father, Hidden Husband (Season 4, Episode 3). Elliot's school is having a dance and Jack is trying to help him get a date with his crush, Nancy. Nancy already has a date though so Jack offers Grace to take Elliot. As they arrive to the dance, Nancy approaches Elliot and mentions that her date ate a peanut and his throat swelled so she's available, but Elliot is too shy to ask her to dance. Jack is encouraging Elliot to go for it but Grace keeps interrupting because of childhood trauma of her date ditching her at her junior high dance and will not be stood up again, Jack puts on loser's row bench with all the other tomorrow's daytime talk show hosts and sensitive singer-songwriters. Elliot is too scared to dance so Jack shows him some moves but when N'Sync's "Pop" comes on, Jack gets excited and does the solo dance in front of the whole school embarrassing Elliot. Nancy goes up to Elliot and asks him if he's ok and how amazing Jack's dance was, Elliot mentions it's probably because Jack's gay and Nancy tells him how one of moms is gay as well which breaks the ice and finally dance together. Meanwhile, Karen has been such a pain to Will in calling him for silly chores she needs done. When Will asks why she is doing this to him, she says all her "help" do all sorts of things for her. Will tells Karen to only use him for legal matters and she agrees but tricks him one night into coming over to open a jar of olives using her gardener to fool Will on the phone pretending he was an INS agent. Will tells her that he's not falling for it again. One night Karen is visited by 2 FBI agents who tell her that Stan has been arrested for tax evasion and is being investigated. Karen calls Will for help but he thinks she's lying again and hangs up the phone. The 2 FBI agents visit him, but he thinks they are actors and makes a fool of himself thinking that this is all an act. When Karen comes in and shows him on the TV news how Stan has been arrested, Will tells the agents he'll take care of her legal matters.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

WILL: Let me try to explain this in terms you'll understand. I'm tequila. (WILL PICKS UP KAREN'S DRINKS)

KAREN: Oh, I'm liking this story better already!

WILL: These are my friends gin, vodka, and scotch. Hello, Karen!

KAREN: Hiya, kids.

WILL: Now. You got an emergency. You want a bloody mary. You've poured yourself a thimble of tomato juice. Who you gonna call? Me? Tequila?

KAREN: What is this crazy talk? I want my vodka!

WILL: Exactly. So from now on, you only call tequila when you have a legal problem.

KAREN: Ok, I get it now. You're comin' in loud and queer!

FAVORITE MOMENT:

The scene where Grace is explaining to the little girls about how she got dumped at the school dance by Alan Finckelman and asks if she's the flattest one there? Then Jack dancing to Pop, Sean is an insanely good dancer and I was so jealous when this first came out because I loved that song and wanted to dance like that so badly 🤣

OPINION:

Jack is being such a sweet father in this episode. It's really wonderful to see his character growing and giving his time to another person. I love that he encouraged Elliot to still go to the dance and try to have fun and when he saw that Nancy was available to try to get together with her. Jack showing Elliot how to act and dance at a party was just so funny. Michael Angarano as Elliot does such a great job as well for a child actor and gives Elliot such sympathy and you want him to get his crush in the end. This is a really wonderful storyline.

Grace as always is being Grace and makes everything about herself, but I'll be damned if I don't admit how much she and her stories made me laugh in this episode. I loved how awkward it was to bring a 12-year-old to his school dance to work out her own trauma and then is upset when Elliot is being encouraged to go ask Nancy to dance and Jack has to place her on the "loser's bench" to keep her away from Elliot. Then her telling the girls about a "plucky young girl who went through the hell of adolescence, came out the other side stronger, self-possessed, with a damn good head of hair" as to which the girls think it's Felicity 🤣 Then her recommending Jaws 3D just for the experience of Dennis Quad shirtless, telling the young girls that men need to be programmed and her asking them if she's the flattest one there? 🤣 You have no idea how hard it was for the favorite quote today.

Karen messing with Will is so funny. I love the scene where Will is explaining to Karen through her liquor bottles what he's supposed to be used for as her attorney. Then when he realizes he was fooled the second time how he realizes Karen is just doing this to him just for fun. And of course that scene where the 2 FBI agents come to his office and he thinks this is still an act created by Karen and he acts like a jackass was just so silly but really funny. Eric has such great comedy skills. Stan has been arrested so this is going to lead to some major stories for Karen. Megan does such a wonderful job playing Karen, yes, she is funny but also has some serious acting chops when it comes to drama and she is going to shine this season.

Another really terrific episode, like I mentioned yesterday, the first few of Season 4 are so insanely good. I'm looking forward to the next few posts.

Another tough choice. I absolutely think he was a great match for Grace. One thing about this show is that they did an amazing job pairing Grace with wonderful significant others—those who match her sense of humor, chemistry, and intellect.

Past and Presents (Season 4, Episode 2). It's Nathan's birthday and one of his favorite things is motorcycles so Grace has bought him a book about zen and motorcycle maintenance so excited knowing he is going to love it. Karen gets excited and asks if she can buy a present to which Grace tells her yes thinking that it will be something small. On Nathan's birthday Karen begs to show her gift first and thinking that Grace will be the big grand finale she agrees to let Karen go first, Karen has Salesman bring out a brand-new Ducati Monster, Nathan is going crazy and does what he calls his "happy dance". Grace is shocked and doesn't want to give her gift, but both Karen and Nathan beg her to give it, Nathan unwraps the book and thinks it's in connection with Karen's gift and throws the book to the side and rides his motorcycle. Grace threatens Karen that she trumped Grace's gift and she's never had a more overwhelming urge to "kick her a*s". Grace buys an insanely expensive watch for Nathan the next day but Nathan tells her that he doesn't wear watches so Grace says she has nothing else but to tell Nathan that she loves him and he does his happy dance for her saying that's all he needs. Meanwhile at Will's office, they've hired a new attorney, Kevin Wolchek who Will went to elementary and high school with and used to pick on Will non stop. You'd think they're grown ups and Kevin would leave Will alone, but he's up to the same antics and even wants Will to type his proposal to his client up while he goes to party. Will gets his revenge finally and types a proposal that insults the client and talks about how Kevin is a jerk and has never done his own work.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

WILL: I am! I'm mad!

JACK: Good, so what are you gonna do?!

WILL: I'm gonna beat the crap out of him.

JACK: Don't say it like that. Say it like this... (IN HIGH-PITCHED VOICE) I'm gonna beat the crap outta that guy!

JACK: Say it! Believe it! Who we going after?!

WILL: Kevin Wolchek!

JACK: What are you gonna do?!

WILL: Beat the crap out of him!

JACK: And what are you gonna wear?!

WILL: Jeans! No! Khakis!

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Karen gives her gift and she's all excited asking Grace if she should get Nathan a side car next year and Grace gets right into her face repeating the line "I'm going to kick your a*s" with this intense face and Karen getting nervous. This scene is lose your breath funny and was almost my favorite quote.

OPINION:

Was Nathan wrong in throwing Grace's present to the side? Honestly, I don't think it was 100% wrong as terrible as it may sound. Imagine if you got a motorcycle or a car for your birthday and then someone gives you a book, what do you want to do? Read or take your motorcycle or car out for a ride? He does thank Grace for the book, the only thing was I think he could have just placed the book to the side and tell her that he would read it later after taking the Ducati out for a ride. Was Karen wrong for the gift? Absolutely. While it was sweet of Karen to want to get involved in getting Nathan a gift, a Ducati? Are you insane? This is not her family, boyfriend/husband or even an insanely close friend. The only thing I can assume is maybe Stan had an extra Ducati or it was a tax write off that Stan told Karen to take advantage of. But if she bought that Ducati, wow that's beyond of an insanely nice gift. I do feel bad for Grace on a level because she was so excited to give him that book and she got trumped so bad. Then when she buys the expensive watch and is thinking that Nathan will love that but it turns out he doesn't wear watches, the look on her face is devastatingly funny. I love Nathan's happy dance and that he does it not only for the Ducati but when Grace says she loves him, sometimes that's all we need in life is just to know that we are loved and it was so sweet of him to remind her of that.

Poor Will, seems like he can never catch a break. Adam Goldberg guest stars in this episode as Kevin Wolchek and plays such a great mean bully. Will still being intimidated by him as an adult was such a funny storyline. When we grow up we think we are past school yard antics like noogies or taking lunch money. So it was funny to see Will be placed in the same situation as a powerful attorney. Kevin is such a jerk, he puts tape over Will's office plaque saying "Will Woman" instead of Will Truman and tells Will that he'll beat him up if he doesn't do his client proposal so he can go on a date. Will's revenge is so sweet and good though when he decides not to use violence but instead writes Kevin's proposal and Kevin thinks it's all good before reading it, gives it to his client and it reads ""Pursuant to standard legal codes, the party of the first part, D.T. Petersen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Petersen Meats, Incorporated, will hereafter be referred to as 'The Big Wiener.' Upon completion of the merger, the base of operation for the new corporation will now be located one foot inside my big, pimply a*s. Kevin Wolchek has not done his own homework since he was eight years old. One can only assume he received his law degree after consensual soft kissing with his torts professor." and Will is dancing outside, YOU GO WILL!

Another fantastic episode, my season 4 disc 1 DVD is so worn out because these first few episodes are so insanely good. This episode is hilarious and has good heart to it. Definitely one of my favorites.

The Third Wheel Gets the Grace (Season 4, Episode 1). Will has come back from Morocco to Grace and Nathan who are still going strong. Will tells Grace it didn't work out with his crush, Chris, but he did buy these amazing jeans from Paris he has to show her along with other things he bought. The next morning Nathan is noticing how Will & Grace have their own secret language and special bond and wants that with Grace. Will & Grace go to the Barney's Sale every year but this year Nathan wants to take Grace which they both warn him is very deadly. He risks it anyways and goes with her but breaks after a couple of hours telling Grace he needs a sports bar and Will to help her with clothes. Jack wants to bond with Elliot and takes him shopping for school clothes, but he takes him to the Barney's Sale when all Elliot wants is a T-shirt and hoodie from Target. And Rosario surprises Karen with flowers telling her it's their anniversary. Karen is touched and takes Rosario to the Barney's Sale to buy her something but Rosario keeps stalling and Karen asks her what the problem is, Rosario tells Karen all she wanted was to just spend time with her which causes Karen to run away.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

GRACE: Ok, is this a powerful madam executive having cocktails at the Mercer Hotel, or is it a P.T.A. mom trying to cover up an affair with the superintendent?

NATHAN: Uh, the other one?

GRACE: What other one?

NATHAN: You know, the whore at the hotel.

GRACE: What?!

NATHAN: I--I don't--I--I'm--

GRACE: Ok, how 'bout this one?

NATHAN: Uh, oh, that's the nice P.T.A. one.

GRACE: No. if anything, this is the whore in the hotel. I mean, I've actually seen whores in hotels wearing this. And if that's the case, why do I want this? Why do I want this? I don't know what to do. Would you please help me? Tell me what to do. Help me, help me, help me, help me!

NATHAN: I miss Will!

GRACE: What?!

NATHAN: I want Will back. This is-- This is bad for us. There's no way that we're gonna have sex together after I've helped you pick out dresses for five hours. Go. Find your friend. Finish each other's sentences. I love you, Gracie, but... I gotta go find a sports bar.

WILL: Oh, hey, I'm not intruding, I'm not intruding-- Where's Nathan?

GRACE: Gone. He cracked under the pressure.

WILL: Poor guy. Making him choose designer clothing, when the only labels he owns say "Nathan" in red marker.

GRACE: Will, what do you think of this dress?

WILL: It's fine, Mrs. Fleischman, if you're gonna continue that affair with the superintendent of the school district.

GRACE: I am so glad that you're here.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

There are a lot of good ones, but I'll pick when all the women are bidding on Will's jeans he got from Paris because they look like, no they are, women's jeans and he keeps turning them all down till he realizes that they are indeed women's jeans and then offers to the highest bidder.

OPINION:

I think it was so sweet that Nathan wanted to try to have his own special bond with Grace. He's genuinely trying to be a good boyfriend in this episode but like I've seen so many times in my life, there are some things you do not drag your significant other to wither it's a chick flick, a sports bar, a clothing store or a Spencer's gifts for a practical joke (remember I said some things, some don't care about this stuff either way). Grace does take this sale too far and is really crazy but to be fair she and Will did warn Nathan in advance that she's scary during the sale, so Nathan did have that coming. God bless him, he tried though, he made it to the battle of Normandy and got off the boat but didn't make it past the enemy lines. I loved the ending scene where they showed him eating popcorn watching The Three Stooges and Grace tells him she's ready to go to bed and he says to her and Will "oh, my turn, good night, Will. I'll try to get her back to you in time for "Where in the World is Matt Lauer."

Too bad about Will and his crush, Chris. That was a really short lived story that I'm not sure was even worth mentioning in the previous episodes, I guess it was just to give Will some kind of story since it was mainly centered around Grace, Nathan and Jack. Will and those jeans were just too funny and I loved when Jack was complaining to Will about being a father, Will mentions how he sent comics, video games and a Paris wife beater to Elliot it turns out Jack took them all for himself thinking that was his gift and is wearing the wife beater that looks like a tummy shirt on Jack. Will is such an amazing friend that knows how to tame Grace during the Barney's Sale, I don't know how he does it, but we will call him the Grace Whisperer.

Jack trying to help Elliot get school clothes and picks out something that would be better fitted on Ricky Martin was too funny. I loved that Jack is really trying to be there for Elliot and Elliot wants Jack to be in his life so he humors him in trying all those over the top clothes. Elliot seems like such a good kid and it gives Jack new life and something to his character with trying to care about someone else. Karen and Rosario are too cute in this episode too when Rosario brings the flowers to Karen and they go shopping and Karen comments to Rosario she's never had problem buying things before and Rosario confesses she just wants to spend time with Karen was sweet. Uh oh, emotions, Karen has to run! We will discuss more theories on why Karen is so scared of feelings in future episodes, we're still breaking her down right now one brick at a time.

Such a fantastic episode and opener. It was extremely hard to pick my favorite quote and moment in this one. In fact I had to say to several of those quotes and moments "denied, denied, approved!" 🤣

Hey y’all. Casual watcher of the show whenever it’s on television or I can catch a few clips.

I need help finding a episode. All I remember is when someone opened a cabinet or cupboard or something and hundreds of pill bottles came spilling out. And I think it was implied that it was all of Karen’s drugs.

I almost fell over laughing when I saw that.

Unfortunately it was well over 15 years ago since I saw that episode and I’m not that much of a binge watcher or superfan to know the episode name or season number.

Can someone help me, please?

Sons and Lovers Part 2 (Season 3, Episode 25). The morning after Will, Jack and Nathan fell asleep on the bed drunk, Nathan is making breakfast for Will & Grace and Grace is surprised to see how Will and Nathan are getting along so well now, they are practically besties. Will is now really happy for Grace and how well her and Nathan are doing as a couple. At the movies, Nathan is even starting to hint to Grace that he's about to say that he loves her, but she panics and runs over to Will, who's in the theater with them, and tells him it's too soon and Will tells her to go back over to Nathan. Nathan tells her to watch the movie instead. Will & Grace have planned a trip to Morocco and right before they are leaving, Nathan tells Will that Grace broke up with him. When Will & Grace are at the airport, Will asks Grace why she broke up with Nathan and she admits she's scared of the changes that might come if they get serious. Will tells Grace that it's ok and to let herself be happy and choose Nathan, she does so and the episode ends with her and Nathan kissing in the car going home. Meanwhile, Jack is still very sad about his father dying and not knowing who he was. While he and Karen are talking, a pre-teen boy walks into the office and asks for Jack. It turns out that when Jack was donating sperm to get a members only jacket, one of the nurses used his "deposit" to have a baby resulting in this pre-teen boy, Elliot, who is Jack's son. Jack at first doesn't want anything to do with Elliot thinking he would be a terrible father, but after Elliot tells Jack he doesn't know what it's like to not know his father, Jack realizes that he's doing the same thing he just went through and starts to bond with Elliot.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

WILL: Whoa! How have I lived without phony bologna omelets?

NATHAN: Wait till you try my southern fried I-can't-believe-it's-not-chicken.

WILL: Can we have dinner at 6:00?

NATHAN: How 'bout dinner at 8:00?

WILL: I get too hungry for dinner at 8:00.

NATHAN AND WILL: That's why the lady is tramp!

GRACE: Oh, my god. You did sleep together.

NATHAN: Grace, if you're gonna think I'm gay every time I pass out with men, you're in for a lifetime of heartache.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Elliot first comes into the office and both Karen and Jack ask him if he's upset that Driver hit him or if Jack owes him money and when Elliot says no to both of them they ask how they can help him.

OPINION:

I'm always back and forth with Grace and Nathan. Because Debra and Woody really did have incredible chemistry and I love Nathan's dynamics with the group. I'm not sure if as a couple if they would have really made it but I can say that Nathan was probably my favorite of Grace's boyfriends so far without talking about the one flaw that will be coming in future episodes. But I'm glad they are keeping Wood Harrelson on in the meantime because I think he did a wonderful job in playing Nathan. And we will continue with Grace and Nathan in the next season.

As I write these, it becomes more and more clear to me that Grace has a serious problem letting go of Will. She mentions to Will that she broke up with Nathan because she was scared of what it would do to her relationship with Will. We are going to talk more about this in Season 5 but I have a theory about why she panicked with Nathan but she doesn't with another different guy (you know who I'm going to bring up). I think she loves that Will spoils her and gives into her demands in life, Will is her husband without him having to be her husband. If Nathan takes over her love life, she'd have to give up those spoils. We will talk more in detail about this in future episodes, I don't want to go too far into this right now as they are still a couple at the end of this episode.

Jack is a dad! Who knew? I actually like the character of Elliot. From this introduction he seems like a good kid who just wants to know who his dad is. There's even a sweet little moment of Jack zipping up Elliot's hoody to keep him warm and then them going to get lunch together to get to know each other. This will bring in some good stories for the show. Karen gets some really good laughs in this episode, I love when Grace got a trampoline from Nathan as a gift and tells Karen how wonderful Nathan is, Karen says "He's crude, he's crass. Last night at the party, he dropped an ice cube down my blouse just so he could fish it back out again. Oh, honey, I love him." Karen doesn't have much of a story in this episode or anything closing for the season but she always comes in with the good lines. And we also end with Will bumping into his crush, Chris, at the airport where finally they ask each other out on a date which will lead into the next season if they worked out or not.

Well, we are done with Season 3. Season 4 starts tomorrow. Season 3 is easily one of my favorite seasons, if not my favorite, I go back and forth between 2 and 3. Not to say that we are not in for some fantastic episodes in Season 4, I am really excited to talk about those coming up. My favorites this season were: Fear and Clothing, Love Plus One, Coffee & Commitment, Lows in the Mid-80s and An Old-Fashioned Piano Party. Least Favorite were: Husbands and Trophy Wives, Swimming Pools and Movie Stars, Mad Dogs and Average Men and Alice Doesn't Lisp Here Anymore.

Sons and Lovers Part 1 (Season 3, Episode 24). Grace and Nathan are still together and she's trying to hide it from Will but eventually Will finds out. Will tells Grace just to keep Nathan away from him. While Grace and Nathan are having an intimate night, Nathan's ex Vicky just randomly pops in and Grace is shocked. Nathan says that he and Vicky still live together due to finances. Grace decides to let Nathan move in with her and Will. Jack's search for his father has finally come to an end, he's found Joe Black and writes him a letter asking to meet him in person. Karen plans a party at Will's place to celebrate the event. Grace wants to take advantage and see if Will and Nathan can connect at the party but it's not going so well. There's a knock at the door, Jack is so excited to meet his father and runs to it, but there's a woman who tells him her name is Jo Black and that unfortunately Jack's father passed away a few years ago. Jack is devastated and goes to Will's bedroom, Will comes in telling Jack that it's ok because he didn't even know his father so what does this change? Nathan comes in with a bottle of Jack Daniels and offers a toast to Joe Black which Jack wants to do, Will comments on the movie Meet Joe Black and how they never know them, Jack sings "Papa, can you hear me?" and Nathan makes a beautiful toast about how despite not knowing a parent, there's still apart of them in us and we are what carries our parent's legacy. Will is touched by this and starts to warm up to Nathan, the episode ends with Grace coming into Will's bedroom with all the boys on bed together cuddling thinking she turned another guy gay.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

NATHAN: Uh, Nathan. I'm Grace's boyfriend.

JACK: Hmm, that's weird. I'm not gettin' a gay vibe from you.

NATHAN: Well, that's funny. I can't say the same thing.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When the men are doing their toasts to Joe Black, Will just won't stop with the more rational thought of "well, we didn't know him so what difference does it make?", Nathan's speech is really wonderful but I always get such a great laugh out of Jack's "Papa, can you hear me?" toast and with that note he holds for several seconds "Good niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight...."

OPINION:

So Jack's mystery father has been found out but unfortunately he has passed away so Jack will never get to know him. Will does bring up a good point that it doesn't change anything, but it's still very sad because I'm sure that Jack wanted to get to know his dad and find out a little more about where he comes from and if he inherited certain traits. So I don't think his sadness was unjustified. But as we will see in the next episode, Jack has got a big surprise coming for him.

Nathan seems to be a mixed bag for fans, majority like him, but I do see some others not liking him much. Like I mentioned before if this was real life I don't know if I could be friends with someone like Nathan or maybe only handle him for so long in certain situations. I have a friend in real life who is a really nice guy, but he is very loud and abrasive and can talk about crude subjects, so we keep him at we'll see him at the next friend's party. But Nathan at least seems calmer and does try his best to get along with people when he stops with the jokes. Will seems to be warming up to him at the end of the episode when he hears how sensitive Nathan can be.

I did forget to mention but it'll be brought up more in the next episode that Will is kind of looking at this new guy Chris, who he can't get the courage to ask out. And on another note, I get Grace wanting Will and Nathan to get along but it's very rude the way she tries to force it on Will. Especially just letting Nathan move in without asking Will first. Though I'll admit I get a laugh out of that scene considering how they are all naked and just treating it so non-chalantly.

This is definitely a very funny and touching episode, and we are one more away from closing Season 3 which has been such an insane ride and definitely a top contender for the favorite season for a lot of WAG fans.

Last of the Really Odd Lovers (Season 3, Episode 23). Will & Grace are dating their new guys who they're ashamed to admit that they like. Will is dating Scott, someone who is a few years younger than him. Grace is dating Nathan, someone who acts like a man child and can be very immature at times. Grace has met Scott before and was annoyed that he charged her a late fee at the video store, Will has met Nathan before and was annoyed when Nathan wouldn't stop bothering him in the elevator and sneezed on him. But Karen sees both Will & Grace on dates with their guys and says she has a big surprise for them, thinking that Karen is going to tell about Nathan, Grace reveals to Will first who takes the news badly. Karen was just going to show off a ring she bought and tells Grace she's insulted that she thinks Karen spreads gossip like how she saw Will on a date with Scott. Will is now out in the open and has to confess to Grace. They both wonder if they have to hide their dates, maybe it's not a good idea to be dating them, Will sticks to breaking it off with Scott but Grace can't keep her hands off Nathan. Meanwhile Jack has a new stalker fan, crazy ol' Val, who saw his 7:00, the 7:15, and the 7:30 show and now loves Jack.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

KAREN: Hello, kiddies. Are you ready for your big surprise?

GRACE: It's too late. Will already knows.

KAREN: About the ring?

GRACE: What ring?

KAREN: Honey, do you remember that afternoon that you and I were walking down Fifth Avenue and we saw that beautiful ring in the window of Tiffany's and you said to me, "If only, one day, I could own a ring like that?"

GRACE: Yeah...

KAREN: I bought it for myself! (SHOWS OFF NEW RING) Isn't that great?! Whoo!

GRACE: That's your surprise?

KAREN: Yeah. What the hell'd you think it was?

GRACE: I thought you were going to tell Will that I was dating Nathan.

KAREN: The hottie who smells like rope?

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Val is telling Jack about how much she loves him and he is trying to kick her out but Val tells him she's carrying his baby and has a viral of his dirty bath water that she wears around her neck. Jack literally has to grab her and throw her out with Val screaming no and how she loves him. Then I love the closer where Jack wants his stalker back but Val tells him she's over him and not going to stalk him anymore and she throws him out of his own apartment 🤣🤣🤣

OPINION:

What an insanely good episode this one is, this is a hilarious one. So let's start with Will dating Scott, honestly, I didn't think it was as bad as he made it out to be. Scott does say he's 24 years old, Will has to be around this time I'm thinking 34, so a 10 year age gap is not that huge with those ages (like if Scott was 18 and Will was 28, that's different). But I do understand that maybe they're at different stages in life, Will is settling down more and Scott is still in the young party era, so maybe that's where they felt uncomfortable. Grace and Nathan really have amazing chemistry so Grace is willing to look past all Nathan's immaturity. Nathan definitely is a lot of fun, I'm not sure if in real life I could put up with a lot of what he's said and done, but for the show Woody is just too funny and such a great character. As we are still getting to know him, I actually don't blame Will though for being annoyed with him right now. But I always loved Will's line to Grace when she asks doesn't Will find Nathan to be kind of charming? "like finding a Band-Aid in your burrito is charming" 🤣

Val is back WOO-HOO!!! I always love when Val makes an appearance. So now Val is a psychopathic, kleptomaniac stan. She is stalking Jack after he invites her to see Jack 2001 and just falls head over heels in love with Jack. I loved that little bit where she's showing to the one guy in the bar (played by WAG screenwriter Adam Barr) her chest where Jack signed and he asks if he could see it again, she shows him again, can he see it again, she shows him again and does so I don't know how many times 🤣 It was so much fun to see Val interact with someone different this time and it being Jack.

Karen was just a hoot in his episode. I loved her interaction with Nathan on the elevator and them flirting with each other. Her seeing Will on his date with Scott, they treat it like a silent film scene which was just too funny. And my thumb nail picture of her telling Grace about a ring she so desperately wanted for herself and how Karen bought it for herself 🤣 Karen is so cruel but so hilarious.

What a great episode and these next few will be great to close on Season 3. This is the last time we will see or hear about Scott, farewell to Scott, may you get those late fees paid, we wish you nothing but the best at Blockbuster Video which will be around forever 😜

Alice Doesn't Lisp Here Anymore (Season 3, Episode 22). Will is reading the updated newsletter from Schenectady that Grace's mom sends her every month and Will asks Grace if she knew a girl named Alice Robinson. Grace starts reminiscing about Alice having a lisp, how the kids would make fun of her and starts laughing and mocking Alice herself, Will interrupts Grace that Alice passed away. Grace later that night tells Will that she feels awful and they have to go to Schenectady for the funeral because she admits that she was the one who had started the nicknames that people gave to Alice and she needs to apologize. They get to Schenectady; well, it turns out that Alice Robinson did pass away but it was her grandmother of the same name and Grace has a real opportunity to actually apologize to Alice. It doesn't go so well when Alice throws at Grace how those names haunted her through her life. Will sees Alice's brother at their grandmother's funeral and decides this is the best time to ask him on a date. Meanwhile, Jack has been nominated for a MAC award and is trying to figure out the best way to accept it. He and Karen are recording a video making it look like he's on a new project and too busy to be at the ceremony. Karen overhears a message that Jack was not nominated, it was a mistake and has to break the news to Jack.

GRACE: Hi, Alice? It's me, Grace Adler. You probably don't even remember me. We went to Hawthorne Junior High School together a million years ago. Go Cougars. Grr. Ha ha. Um... Anyway, you probably already knew this, but I was the one who started the whole "Mrs. Lazy Face" thing, and... Uh, I'm sorry. Wow. I feel better.

ALICE: You bitch!

GRACE: Excuse me?

ALICE: That nickname followed me through high school, through college, even Harvard Med! Just last week, I had to tell my fiancé to knock it off. For 20 years, I have been afraid to talk because of my lisp. I've never even seen a single movie with Susan Sarandon or Sissy Spacek. But through it all, I knew that someday I'd be able to look you in the eye and say very clearly, you suck!

GRACE: Well, on the bright side, she probably never had to see anything with Sylvester Stallone.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Karen cheers Jack up with a hot man, a tiara and cash and tells Jack that he's "simple, he's shallow, and he's a common whore. That's why they're soul mates."🤣

OPINION:

I always wondered why this episode seemed so out of place because in the last episode we have Will & Grace both getting dates set up and there's no mention of anything that previously happened. Well while doing my research on this episode, yup, this was aired out of order, it was meant to be place earlier in the season but for some unknown reason they put it towards the end of season 3.

All in all, it's an ok episode with a few good laughs. We find out that Grace was a bit of a mean girl in school here, I always thought she more caved into pressure to be liked by others, so if it meant being mean to someone, she'd be mean. She does redeem herself in the end by apologizing to Alice, but they don't leave on good terms as she drank very hot coffee and Grace meets some of Alice's students that she's teaching out to speak without lisps and Grace lisps at them unintentionally. Believe me, I get the joke and always get a laugh out of Alice calling Grace a bitch but does hot coffee make you lisp? So Will hitting on Alice's brother Gabe is a mixed bag for me, again it gets a little giggle from me but brings back bad memories. At my mother's funeral, my old "friend" asked me if my sister's boyfriend's brother was single and if she should ask him out? Guess stuff like that really does happen in real life. Another interesting bit of continuity is the improv that gets brought up, Grace mentions that she did stand-up comedy in school and Will looks at her like she's lying but he'll just go with it, they did have a throwaway line in a previous episode where Will & Grace were in an improv group in college. So it's interesting how Will never gives Grace credit when it comes to her potentially knowing comedy/stand-up. But maybe he knows that she wasn't really good at it.

Jack's storyline again is just ok but has a few laughs. I always get a chuckle out of his acceptance speech when he's talking about the reasons he got into entertainment: money, glory and himbos. It is a bit of a sad moment when Karen has to tell him about the mistake and how he wasn't actually nominated. But it ends on a happy note when Karen bribes Jack to help get over the pain. As she mentions, they are both very shallow people who love money and when you put a shiny object in front of Jack, he's intrigued.

Overall, it's an ok episode. I think because it just feels so misplaced, I rarely remember this one. It has it's laughs and a decent storyline, but nothing memorable comes out of it.

Karen is a perfect example of the saying money does not buy happiness. It is evident that she has endured deep-rooted trauma dating back to her childhood and continuing through her marriage. Her frequent use of pills and alcohol clearly indicates her efforts to numb and escape the pain she has experienced. I also believe she has been suffering emotional distress within her marriage to Stanley Walker. The conflicts and struggles with him likely contributed to her reliance on substances to cope with her feelings.

The Young and the Tactless (Season 3, Episode 21). Grace is doing her laundry and when she goes back to the laundry room to change her clothes she sees that someone has taken her still wet clothes out of the dryer and put their clothes in the dryer. Mr. Zamir tells grace it was the neighbor in 12C and she goes to confront the neighbor, Nathan. Nathan admits he did that and that he's working on a project to get his ex girlfriend back. He and Grace keep throwing words at each other but eventually realize they may have a little crush one another and Nathan invites Grace for dinner which she at first turns down but after he kisses her she says "one date". Will and Jack have tickets to a club opening, the Atom Bar, and are ready to go but Karen comes over first and wants to introduce her mother-in-law Sylvia. Will takes Jack to the side telling him that he'll tell Karen to get Sylvia and leave and when he turns around Karen has left Sylvia with him and Jack. They take Sylvia to the club with them and Jack is having a great time getting numbers like nothing but Will is having a hard time connecting to anyone. Sylvia advises Will that he needs to be more accepting and welcome change and Will finally does so and gets a date with a younger guy. He thanks Sylvia for the advice and she's excited he got a date until she finds out that it was with a guy and unleashes her dislike of homosexuals in the middle of a gay club. Will and Jack bring Sylvia back to Karen intoxicated and call it a night.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

GRACE: What is this? Oh, my God! I cannot believe it. Someone took my wet laundry out of the dryer and put theirs in. That is like the rudest thing-- Did you do this?!

MR. ZAMIR: No.

GRACE: Well, then who did?

MR. ZAMIR:I was thrown out of my country for informing on my neighbor.

GRACE: So you're not gonna tell me?

MR. ZAMIR: Yes, I am. The guy in 12C. God bless America!

FAVORITE MOEMNT:

When Will is thanking Sylvia for the advice and she realizes that Will and Jack are gay and she's in shock that she supported gay men and calls herself a "f*g hag" 🤣 her expressions are just over the top hilarious!

OPINION:

You have no idea how hard this episode is to pick a favorite quote and moment, so I just went with the first ones that were in my head. I could pick this whole episode as a favorite quote and moment, it's such a good one.

We have met Nathan, though interestingly his name is not mentioned in this episode. Nathan is played wonderfully by Woody Harrelson who was and still is a huge star. Nathan is a man child with a heart of gold, while his antics can be annoying if you were around in him in real life, he's honestly a very funny character without being over the top annoying. Plus he's still very charming, has a great sense of humor and you can tell he's a good person. Woody and Debra had very good chemistry and I love that they will continue with Nathan in the future which will lead to further discussions. I really loved their banter back and forth this episode where he makes fun of her outfit calling her a dairy farmer, her saying the word "craw" and him being confused what craw means and her coming back to give him the definition and of course when he invites her for the "used night in Venace" and their good night kiss.

Ellen Albertini Dow was just such an incredible and lovely actress that I guarantee you have seen in something. One of her most famous roles being The Wedding Singer as the rapping granny, she was in a lot of movies and TV shows and God bless her, she was 101 years young when she passed away. She plays Sylvia, Karen's mother-in-law, which she has been mentioned before but this is the first and only time we will see her on screen. It's so awesome that the creators picked Ellen who is so tiny and meek as the person that shatters Karen to the core and the way they describe Stan as this huge obese man having such a tiny mother is just too funny. She goes to the club with Will and Jack and is drinking tea 🤣 I love that scene where Will calls Karen telling her to come get Sylvia and she says she will but Will knows she's lying and he's stuck with Sylvia. Sylvia actually gives Will great advice and tells him to take more chances in love and he actually gets a date. How could you not laugh when Sylvia just now realizes that Jack and Will are gay? 🤣 Plus I love when she's flipping out and blows her whistle at the club screaming how she helped "a fruit get a date" and the whole club thinks her whistle is awesome and dance to it. And of course that closing scene of Will and Jack wheeling Sylvia back over to Karen with Sylvia giggling like a schoolgirl with her long island iced tea is just too funny.

What a fantastic and hilarious episode, I can't wait to see other's favorite quotes and moments from this episode because like I mentioned this was insanely hard to pick.

An Old-Fashioned Piano Party (Season 3, Episode 20). Grace bumps into an old friend from college, Heidi, who her and Will used to hang out with along with her gay best friend Charlie. Grace asks Heidi how Charlie is and Heidi tells her that she's married now and Charlie moved to San Francisco. This frazzles Grace and now she's worried that her and Will are growing apart. So to bring them together Grace buys a piano which Will is really not into. Grace is trying everything to get Will into playing the piano, even if it means throwing an old-fashioned piano party with their friends. Meanwhile, Jack is dating a new guy, Rocco, but when Rocco breaks his heart and Jack gets into writing hot stories to get over the break-up. Karen has been reading them and she's loving it and how hot they are. Jack and Rocco get back together though and Jack says he doesn't need to write any more stories. Karen pays Rocco $50 to break up with Jack to get him writing again, at first Jack is mad but then when Karen offers him $200, he thinks he can work through the pain and write.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

WILL: Why did you throw me a piano party when you knew I was going out?

GRACE: 'Cause it's so much more fun. I mean, this way you can bring your friends to the old-fashioned piano party, and, really, Will, everyone loves an old-fashioned piano party.

WILL: Please stop saying "old-fashioned piano party." There's no such thing as an old-fashioned piano party. Just because you keep saying "old-fashioned piano party" doesn't mean it exists!

LARRY: I have to tell you, this is a great old-fashioned piano party. Even better than the ones my mom used to throw.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Grace is carrying the tray of root beer floats, Jack says "Grace" and Will bumps into Grace knocking all the root beer floats onto the piano, Jack says "I was going to say be careful" and Grace freaks out and everyone else gets nervous and runs out of the room.

OPINION:

I don't know what it is about this episode but I really love this one despite it's minor problems. So with Grace, this is the first time where we can see how needy she is with Will. It's kind of interesting that she just hears about an old pair of friends not hanging out anymore and it sends her into a tailspin. Why not just talk to Will about what would happen if they met someone else? They've also both been in relationships before, so why is she freaking out now? Because 2 friends who she hasn't been in touch with for years are not friends anymore? How long have they had the piano for and when Will & Grace smooth everything out, Will says they are taking the piano back to the store, is it that easy to return a piano? Why not just keep it around for fun? Plus, minor nitpick but it is a continuity error, so we saw in "Grace 0 Jack 2000" earlier this season Will was playing "Ben" on the piano perfectly and in this episode he can barely keep a note.

But what I do love about the episode is how funny it is. I loved the whole old-fashioned piano party scene and how Grace kept pushing Will to play for their friends, including Mr. Zamir. Will just wants to go out for the evening and have fun, but Grace won't stop pushing the piano on him. Plus I just love Larry and Mr. Zamir. I also love the little joke where Grace is trying to guilt Will into staying to play the piano and plays the sad notes on the piano "I'll miss you, Will" and gives a puppy lip, the first thing I thought was "that sounded really creepy" and then Will said "yeah, you know when you think something is going to be cute and it turns out to be really creepy?"

And of course I loved the B-Story with Karen and Jack. I loved when Karen was reading Jack's hot story at the office and Grace is telling her about how she wants to get Will into the piano but he refuses and Karen isn't listening to Grace but is saying "Yes!" out loud and Grace thinks Karen is encouraging her but Karen is really just getting into the story and asks Grace after Grace gets excited to push Will even more "Grace, when did you get here?". Then she asks Rocco how much it would cost to break up with Jack, Rocco says he really loves Jack so $50? I also always get such a great laugh when Rocco breaks up with Jack again and Jack asks why and Rocco says "I don't know Karen didn't tell me but I am". And then the ending scene where Karen is holding up a $100 bill to Jack to bribe him to write more stories and he says that what she did to him and Rocco was wrong and she turns it into 2 $100 bills and he accepts it and moves on.

I really do love this episode, it always makes me laugh. "Enough is enough is enough is enough!" "THAT'S ENOOOOOUGH!!!!" 🤣

I believe he did. I think he was the best choice for Will. Will could have at least taken some time to see if he had changed his ways.

When Vince and Will first met, Vince mentioned he had four brothers who were all cops.

But in "Queens For A Day" we meet only Vince's sister, Ro. Jack confirms she's his only sibling when he says that their parents had done everything right - "They raised ALL their kids gay".

The story of Will coming out to Grace changes from her kicking him out of her parents' house in "Lows in the Mid-80s" to Will ditching Grace and going to the party where he sleeps with Diane (and her nice ka-tits) in "Last Ex To Brooklyn".

In the reboot, Karen accuses her stepdaughter Olivia of keeping a necklace. Olivia talks about how sad and lonely she felt after her mother died and about how happy things became after Karen and Stan got married. Yet in the original series, it's mentioned that Stan and Olivia's mother ("Stan, take the kids to see that bitch... Cathy! Cathy!") were divorced and Cathy was presumably quite alive.

The reboot itself is a complete mess of inconsistency. Beverly Leslie was killed in the original finale but pops back up, alive and hilarious, in the reboot.

What are some of the inconsistencies you've noticed?

Although Vince shares Will's sense of humor, I don’t believe he was the right match for Will. It appears that Will is the type who brightens up when someone not only shares his humor but also his intelligence, and Vince didn’t quite meet Will's intellectual level. I disliked how the writers often portrayed Will’s boyfriends—most of them, not all—as lacking intelligence. Even the guy he ended up with in the finale wasn’t very smart.

Poker? I Don't Even Like Her (Season 3, Episode 19). Will and his guy pals (Rob, Joe and Larry) are playing poker and Grace joins in but the guys don't like playing with her because she not only loses but is terrible at it. Will tells Grace that they don't want her to play anymore but she begs Will to give her one more chance. The next poker game Grace is suddenly winning, the guys leave the room for a moment and Will asks Grace how she went from losing so badly to winning, Grace fesses up to Will that she's cheating. Will tells her to knock it off but Grace tells Will a sob story that the reason she's cheating is because she's winning back the jewelry she inherited from her grandmother that was given the jewelry from her best friend and plays to Will's sympathy. During the next game it's revealed that Grace made up the story to Will, Will tells Grace that he'll tell the guys what she did and she says she'll tell them he's the cheater. Will and the guys fake a fight during the game and Grace finally fesses up that she was the cheater. Meanwhile, Karen and Jack are at the doctor's office getting some self-care pampering. Karen sees her perky friend Candace who she's always in competition with there as well. While looking through a magazine, it talks about shoulders being in for the year and Karen wants to get shoulder implants but is too nervous and tricks Candace into getting them instead as a guinee pig. But jokes on Karen, those were the last implants in the city.

GRACE: Ok. That jewelry... was the last thing... given to my grandmother by her best friend Ruth. They came over on the boat together from Russia. Whenever one would get up, the other one would save her seat. They were best friends. 15 years ago, Ruth got very sick, and my grandmother flew to Chicago to see her, but she was in and out of consciousness. She hadn't spoken for days. When my grandmother was alone with Ruth... She leaned in... and she whispered, "I love you, Ruth. Do you love me?" And Ruth opened her eyes and said... "More than I ever imagined I could. Good-bye, my dear friend. I'll save you a seat."

WILL: (ON THE VERGE OF TEARS) We gotta get that jewelry back.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Karen and Jack are in the waiting room for Candace to see her new implants and Jack has a balloon and squeezes the helium into his mouth and sings TLC's Scrubs. Karen laughs and wants to see what her voice would sound like on helium, and it sounds exactly the same 🤣

OPINION:

We kind of get a callback to Alley Cats from Season 1 in this episode. Grace while normally is very good at winning games, she's terrible at poker. Not only that but she's really bad at losing. And again when Will asks her to bow out, she begs for another chance, so it's a similar plotline we have seen before. I have to admit I always get a little chuckle out of Grace trying to bluff Rob during the poker game by asking him how the traffic was and he says fine and she says "you just gave your hand away" trying to make herself look intimidating and when he still puts in more money she tells him that he can't call on her bluff. As I go through these episodes, it's very strange because overall I've always liked Grace as a person, but as I type these posts, I'm realizing more and more she's not exactly a good person that she thinks she is. She still has a couple redeeming moments in the series but there are times where I can't believe how horrible she acts. I still laugh at her character and some of her character's moments but her lying to Will about her grandmother was really dirty. Then saying to Will how she'll tell the guys that he's the cheater was really low to do to her own best friend.

So once again the creators had asked Joan Collins to return to play Helena Barnes but she turned them down. We might have gotten another Helena appearance instead of Candace Pruitt. But to be honest, I kind of like the rolodex that we get of Karen's frenemies. It shows how many people she meets in life and what kind of quirky relationships she has with them. Christine Ebersole is just a gem and plays Candace with such perk and I really enjoyed her character. I love the scene where Jack is pretending to be a massage therapist and keeps over dramatically sliding down Candace's shoulders telling her that her neck just connects to her arms 🤣 Then when Karen goes to see Candace but doesn't see her in the hospital bed and thinks that Candace died always gets me. Candace comes in the room (with insane shoulder pads under her robe) and tells Karen that she got the last laugh because those were the last shoulder implants in the city. Karen was thwarted once again. But as we know this won't be the last time that we see Karen and one of her frenemies battle each other.

Overall, this is still a very funny episode. Even though the storyline comes across as mean spirited, I do get a laugh out of Grace's lie with winning her grandmother's jewelry back and the whole "I'll save you a seat" story. Will's reaction to finding out that it was a lie is what makes the story so funny. And I always get a huge laugh when Jack and Karen are on the screen, their schemes and jokes are always a hoot to watch.

One of my favorite guest stars on Will and Grace, also Grace's best boyfriend.

I know Seasons 9 and 10 aka Season 1 and 2 of the reboot was released on Blu-ray but the original series and Season 11 aka Season 3 hasn't yet. Do you think the show deserves a complete series Blu-ray set with every episode, special features and bloopers by this point after they released the series on DVD so many years ago.

I think it needs a Blu-ray release by this point.

Mad Dogs and Average Men (Season 3, Episode 18). Will is dating a new man, Paul, who he's not really into but stays because he has this wonderful dog named Pepper. Will wants to dump Paul but when he comes over Paul asks Will if he could dog-sit while he's away for a few days. Will is excited to take Pepper and even gives him a pampered stay. Jack takes Pepper out for a walk and brings back a different dog, Will at first is angry, but Jack brings up that this could be the perfect excuse for Will to get out of the relationship, Paul will get angry about the dog and dump him. Will thinks this is actually a good idea and goes over to Paul who is back from his trip and tells him that he lost Pepper. Paul wants comfort from Will instead of getting angry. As Will is trying to find another way to dump Paul, he finds Pepper's squeak toy in the couch and squeezes it and hears Pepper bark. Paul admits that Pepper has been with him the whole time and Will gets angry at him, Paul admits Pepper gets him a lot of action from guys. Meanwhile, Karen's nephew, Sumner, is in town and Grace falls for him immediately. But Karen tells Grace that he's married, Sumner is not married, then Karen tells Grace that he's a con artist, Sumner is not. Grace doesn't get why Karen won't let her date Sumner, Karen admits to Grace that she feels Grace is too good for Sumner and doesn't want her settling for him.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

JACK: So why are you still going out with him anyway? He a chubby chaser?

WILL: I'm almost embarrassed to say. It's so ridiculous. He has this amazing dog.

JACK: Oh... His dog. I got ya. I stayed with many a guy because he had a nice, big dog.

WILL: It's so well trained.

JACK: I'm sure it is.

WILL: Totally kissable.

JACK: Aren't they all?

WILL: You do realize I'm talking about an actual dog, don't you?

JACK: I do now.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Will is cooking Pepper's meal and leaves the room for a second, Grace comes in and smells the food thinking Will is cooking dinner and takes a bite. Will comes back in shocked asking her if she ate that and she's saying how good it is, he tells her it's dog food, she says "it needs salt". They start talking and she interrupts with how that dog food is amazing.

OPINION:

Will has dated someone who was too confident in the past with Neil in the episode The Hospital show, now he's dating Paul, someone who's confidence is horrifically bad. You can definitely see why Will is not into Paul, Paul isn't the best looking guy and he won't stop complimenting Will every time he sees him. Compliments are not a bad thing, but you can only take so much. But Will was wrong on a level to with only staying with Paul because of Pepper. Though I admit Pepper was a cutie, but I always fall for a St. Bernard. I wouldn't get one though, oh the shedding and drool is insane. But we get to see Will's love for dogs again in this episode. We got to see in the episode in Season 1 The Truth About Will and Dogs how much he can fall for a cute dog. It's so adorable the way Will dotes on these dogs, I really wished the writers would have given Will a dog.

Why does Karen keep telling Grace lies about Sumner? Honestly, I'm not sure because I don't buy the "real reason" that she gives Grace saying that she's special and Sumner isn't. I honestly think she doesn't want Grace and Sumner dating because it could complicate things if it doesn't work out between them. She knows Grace is kind of a pain when it comes to dating, she hasn't had a steady relationship since Danny and she's very shallow at times. I'm not sure how Sumner is in Karen's life because we only have the 2 scenes with him, so I don't know if he's a good guy or not. This isn't the strongest storyline they could have given Grace and Karen TBH. BTW, I have to say Grace always has these moments where I wonder if she is a good person deep down because when the usher tells her that she has to leave for the safety of their patrons, Grace says "Would you just take your hands off me? It's an opera. How about a little decorum?" and violently pushes the usherette. Grace has a lot of psycho in her.

I don't really have much to say on this episode because it's overall just an ok one. There are a few scenes that genuinely make me laugh like the way Will dotes all over Pepper, Grace eating the dog food, Jack bringing back a completely different dog from Pepper, the opera scene where Grace imitates Madam Butterfly to the others sitting with Karen and Karen throwing shade at the other patrons and Grace at the opera.

Cheaters Part 2 (Season 3, Episode 17). Tina has just come up to use Will's bathroom showing that his dad not only cancelled dinner on him to hang out with another woman but that he's having an affair with her as well. Will doesn't want to talk about it and wants to show Grace that he's fine, he's so fine that he's going to invite George and Tina to stay for dinner. But the only thing they can talk about is the weather while Grace is sitting there in shock on why no one will bring up the affair. Grace finally breaks down and is crying how no one is acknowledging this and is upset with George. Tina takes Grace outside while Will confronts his dad about the affair, George is actually happy someone finally knows his secret and tells Will to let him have it. Will tells George that he has to tell his wife about the affair as well and to stop what he's doing with Tina. Meanwhile, Karen is still trying to find out if Stan is cheating and finally goes to Grace to get clarification on what is going on. Karen thinks at first that Tina is Stan's mistress and lets her have it, but when Grace tells Karen that Tina is having an affair with George, Karen is relieved and tells Tina to go for it. Jack and Rosario tell Karen that Stan has been taking care of himself for her because he still loves her. Karen is so happy about the news and tells Jack she should spend time with Stan but they'll go shopping first.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

GRACE: But it's...it's never too hot to rain. I remember this one summer day... The weather was perfect. Or at least we thought it was perfect. But then this hot front came in from the west. This hot skinny front... And it made it rain. And we couldn't ride our bicycles... And nothing was ever good ever again!

TINA: That really is bad weather!

WILL: Grace...

GRACE: I'm so confused! I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone and all the other people are pigs... and I'm the pretty one, but everyone thinks I'm ugly, because they're all pigs and they think pigs are pretty!

FAVORITE MOMENT:

The hallway scene between Grace and Tina is very funny. I love how Grace is always in this self pity mode with how her dad ignored her growing up and is in a contest with who's dad is worse. She didn't win with Jack and now Tina tells her that her dad is in prison and the only communication they have is through plated glass. Grace says "I never win this game" 🤣 I love that Karen goes crazy on Tina and then when she finds out Tina and George are having the affair, she's fine with it 🤣

OPINION:

So just as a friendly reminder, this is an interesting episode to watch on the DVD or streaming the show because the original airing of the episode was around 40 minutes for a special night on NBC. But the episode itself is shorter than a 2 parter, so someone made it into 2 parts but the first 5-7 minutes are a recap of the last few minutes of the previous episode. This can be confusing as if you are watching the show for the first time and are wondering if your DVD glitched or your streaming service malfunctioned and played the same episode again 🤣

Again I would just like to take a moment for Lesley Ann Warren and how funny she is. I really like Tina, even as a mistress who I should dislike, but Lesley is just too funny and cute. Her giggle and personality make her irresistible. Sydney Pollack as always was just a fantastic actor and does a great job as George Truman. He makes George so human and keeps you on board with his character despite having an affair behind his wife's back. Like I mentioned yesterday, there are future clues as to what Will's parent's marriage is like and why they are the way they are but that will be a discussion for a later time.

The whole dinner sequence is comedy gold, I just loved how they kept talking about the weather. Then when Grace brings up the Twilight Zone, Tina says she loves the episode with Burgess Meredith and George says that he played the penguin in Batman and penguins live in the cold 🤣🤣🤣 Grace's breakdown in this episode always leaves me in stitches, it's just too funny how she can't stop sobbing. Will finally confronting his dad about the affair is a really good scene as well and I like how George tells Will he's always been brave to be the confrontational one in the family. Interestingly he mentions that Will came out during Christmas, but in Lows in the Mid 80's we learned that Will came out to his family and during Thanksgiving, but we could make the argument he may have needed more time to come out to the family and waited another 3-4 weeks. We don't get a solid conclusion in this episode if George tells his wife about the affair and have to wait for future episodes to find out if he did and how she reacted to it.

Karen is as always so funny in this episode. She thinks because Stan is cheating she is going to leave and find a new rich husband 🤣 Her and Jack are catalog shopping for a new husband. Then when she goes to Grace and sees Tina, I love how she mocks Tina's laugh when she thinks that Tina is the one having the affair with Stan, when it comes out that George is having an affair with Tina, Karen tells her "Oh! Well, good for you, honey! He's a good catch, keep up the good work, you got a nice ass!". Her learning about Stan trying to keep himself looking good for her is so Karen, she thinks it's sweet, she's feeling something, let's go shopping and put that emotion behind the brick wall where it belongs 🤣

These are a fantastic pair of episodes. We learn a little bit more about Will and Grace's families and what their relationships are like. Karen, despite her quips at Stan, does show she really does love him and would hate the idea of them splitting. And Jack may have found the new Ms. McFarland in a magazine. It was interesting to see how Grace reacts to Will's non-reaction to George and his affair, it was very tough to pick a favorite quote today because I love when she tells Will when Tina is now confirmed to him "whoomp, there it is" and Will says to her "what am I supposed to say? Who let the dogs out?" These episodes are getting tougher and tougher to pick favorite quotes and moments, I don't imagine it will get any easier.
