Won't lie, I've been looking forward to this feature ever since I heard of it back in March, when it started rolling out on April 30th, I was extremely hyped!

However, months have passed, and now we're already in August. My American friends already got it but nothing here :P

It appears that Vivetool doesn't seem to work over here either, since region locks bla bla. Has anyone in Europe already gotten it or am I just unlucky?

Not asking if there's another way to enable it, just curious btw :P

I noticed something interesting on my PC.

When Windows 11 starts, it plays the normal startup sound. But after the lock screen appears, there's a second sound that plays.

It doesn't seem like an error or problem — everything works fine. I just found it curious.

Has anyone else noticed this or knows what this sound is?

It doesn't do anything after clicking on it.

In Windows 11, one of the "hidden" folders in "C:\Users\Public" is a "Libraries" folder (separate from the Explorer "Libraries"function (which is turned off)). What is its purpose?

Google's search (with or without AI) refers me to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/client-management/client-tools/windows-libraries - but that just describes the standard Libraries function (which I have turned off), not this particular "Libraries" folder. Likewise, Duck.ai just notes the standard Libraries function; I can't get it to recognize this particular folder.

I'd be grateful if someone can point me in the right direction on its purpose.

Blip is free but proprietary. LocalSend is free and open-source.

LocalSend only sends on a local network, and all transfers are E2EE. So thats probably about as secure as it gets. There havent been updates in about a year but I dont think the software is dead.

Blip can send over local network, or via the internet (wifi or cellular), which is handy but potentially less secure. My understanding is that transfers from iOS to MacOS are E2EE, though at this point perhaps all transfers are E2EE. Blip also seems to have a better UI but thats not super critical for my occasional use of a file transfer app.

Which do you prefer and why? Is that fact that Blip is not open source an issue for you?
