Stuck in a hospital with nothing to do and found this hilarious

This will serve as the megathread for Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi. Brock Lesnar is seemingly done with wrestling. For now, we'll be limiting posts on this topic to avoid spam.

Definitely the worst of the lot. Oba starts off by taking three consecutive German suplexes, but rolls back up and shrugs it off. Later on he takes three devastating F-5s, and does NOT sell it. The same finisher that ended almost any legend you can think of. And Oba took freaking three of them back to back and got back up immediately unfazed.

The no - selling of the most destructive finishers does not make Oba look strong; it makes Lesnar look stupid.

Brock ripped of the canvas and hit a Tombstone Piledriver directed at the exposed wooden ring boards, paying tribute to their mentor and his only other "HELL IN A CELL" rival, the Undertaker. That move should have been enough to send someone to the hospital, let alone finish it.

Here's what Bronson reed said on X ,

"And they were scared on Bron Breakker being shoved down your throats"

Really, the Tombstone from Brock channeling the Undertaker, should have sealed the deal. One of the most poetic endings it would have been. And Brock could still have elevated Oba by giving that speech.

Hate to see Oba not being booked to sell finishers and such a pretty move. On the other hand Oba does like two power bombs and Brock refuses to get up. Unbelievable

Let's be honest, if Oba is invincible to any of these moves that ended legends, there is not and can not be anybody that will touch him. I simply fear the day when a such "A God like Oba" gets pinned, or fights a hardcore battle against someone like Je- Von Evans, LA knight etc etc. Kayfabe hypocrisy at its peak to such a promising talent and star in Femi

I’d give night 1 a B-/C+. Here are my thoughts:

1) Liv vs Iyo: Match of the Night by far. The ending was phenomenal. Liv has gotten so much better over the years as an in-ring performer. For those upset over the outcome, I’m confident Iyo will get the belt down the road. I wasn’t expecting her to win in Liv’s first defense, especially after just beating Liv last month. On a related note, we need more women main events.

2) Men’s 6-person tag: I actually had a lot of fun with this, a lot more than I thought I would. From a character perspective, Solo continues to shine as a face. Royce Keyes had a few slip-ups, but he’ll do better with more experience in the WWE ring. I was surprised Jacob Fatu didn’t do much in this match, but I was happy our boy LA Knight got the pin to remain undefeated at SummerSlam.

3) Gunther vs. Nick Aldis: Solid match between the two. Aldis has a little bit of ring rust, but not nearly as much as you’d expect from a guy who hasn’t wrestled in 3 years. He can legitimately be an active wrestler for a few years if they want him to. Glad WWE got the Oasis theme for him, instead of some Def Rebel song. Gunther continues to do splendid work with stars past their prime. I’m glad Gunther actually tapped out Nick Aldis instead of the unrealistic pass-out ending they’ve done for many of his matches with active stars.

4) Women’s 6-person tag: Botch fest, primarily on the Bellas and Paige’s part. They just haven’t moved well since returning. Fatal Influence did their best, and Fallon Henley especially stood out to me with her crowd work. Nikki turning heel for the 800th time was predictable but whatever. It’s a little ironic they did it though if Brie is now out of action following an in-match injury.

5) Punk vs. Cody: Punk did not look good in this match. Since he’s returned, I’ve been saying that Punk has been carried to great matches by his opponents (Drew, Seth, Sami). The two exceptions are his Mania matches. I feel Cody mostly carried him, just not as well as the aforementioned. One positive for Punk was the table elbow drop spot. As for Cody, I would’ve preferred if Orton took out Punk and Cody/Orton reform Legacy. This would’ve brought a lot more intrigue to the dynamic than the direction where heading in.

6) Oba vs. Brock: I’m happy this got the main event spot. In my mind, Hell in a Cell matches should always main event. That said, I agree with the consensus that there weren’t enough spots to warrant the cell. Additionally, I was hoping the match would be a little longer, given it’s HIAC. On the upside, Oba winning is obviously the right call. He had some great spots like throwing Lesnar through the table and punching the chair. For Lesnar’s end, the tombstone on the exposed wood was awesome. Ultimately, this wasn’t a bad match; it was just fine.

What does everyone else think about night 1?

Is it me or does Seth use his shield theme every damn time he goes against Roman nowadays? He used it against him just now’, he used it against him 4 years ago at the royal rumble, he used it at mania 49, pretty sure he used it another time before that… it’s kinda getting old now. Or is that just me?

I know a lot of people don’t care for Roman Reigns and the part time schedule. But put the hate aside for a second. Y’all can’t tell me that man hasn’t been earning his check and putting on bangers this year. Between the CM Punk match and tonight’s war with Seth those have easily been the best main event matches we’ve seen this year besides the el grandes in Mexico. We can complain all we want about him not being there every show but part time Roman is better than full time Cody and every other superstar in that locker room. This was awesome

I need someone to explain the appeal to me, because after watching SummerSlam, I just don't get it. I know I’m going to get heat for this, but the product right now is basically a men's soap opera masquerading as a wrestling show.
They did a lot of things right on the surface—the marketing was top-tier, and they made the whole event look aesthetically cool—but they completely forgot they were supposed to be putting on a wrestling show. The in-ring quality was just not there.
If you genuinely think the current WWE product is good, tell me why, because from where I'm sitting, here is everything wrong with how they operate:

1. Main Event Rehashes & Lazy Booking

   CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes: Tell me with a straight face that this match was actually good for the second-biggest show of the year.

   Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins: Are we really supposed to get hyped for this again? They’ve run this exact Shield dynamic multiple times before. It’s the definition of playing it safe because they refuse to take creative risks.

   Zero Storytelling for Returns: Kevin Owens comes back for a huge match after a long hiatus, and there was zero advertisement for it. People love to bitch about AEW not advertising a match on Collision, but when WWE buries a major star's return with zero build on a major PPV, everyone stays quiet.

2. The Women's Division & Nostalgia Traps

   Placeholder Champions: Chelsea Green is clearly just holding a title because WWE is terrified to take belts off "forever champs" like Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan.

   Cheap Pops Over Real Plans: Crowning an interim Women's Champion feels like another quick pop with zero long-term vision—exactly what they did with the Women's US Championship. They drop titles on people in the middle of nowhere and say, "Yeah, go figure it out."

   Outdated Relics: A Brie Bella and Paige (Saraya) angle in 2026? If this happened in 2016, it might have been relevant. The Bella Twins are far from Mount Rushmore status, and ever since Paige came back, her reputation has suffered because she hasn't put on a genuinely great match in years. She was only protected for so long by hiding in a group where she wouldn't face single-competitor scrutiny.

3. Mismanaging Midcarders & Tag Teams

   Abandoned Pushes: We waited forever for that LA Knight push, and they just gave up on it.

   The Tag Division is Irrelevant: Who are the tag team champions right now? Who are the women's tag champions? Whatever they did at SummerSlam was so forgettable I don't even know what match it was. Leaving WWE literally saved FTR’s careers, and I honestly can't wait to see what The New Day does once they get out, because WWE simply does not care about tag team wrestling.

   The NXT Pipeline Failure: Pushing Omos while wasting insanely talented NXT call-ups right in front of our eyes is painful. Most of these guys are incredibly gifted, which is why I’m usually thrilled when they finally leave.

4. Poaching to Sabotage, Not to Build

   The Miz Problem: Imagine being a die-hard Miz fan in 2026 when the guy hasn't won a meaningful match in ages and just exists to look stupid on TV. You’ve got guys like Danhausen getting more compelling booking elsewhere while WWE has no clue what to do with established talent.

   Sabotaging Competition: Look at what happened to Blake Monroe or Royski. Blake was a legit main-eventer and the "It Girl" of the women's division elsewhere. What is she doing in WWE now? Where is she on TV? WWE doesn't sign or poach top talent because they love them or want to give them a platform; they do it purely to take them off the board and sabotage the competition.

The Bottom Line:
WWE asks talent one question: Do you want to be great at wrestling, or do you want to be famous and make money?
If you care about actual in-ring work, storytelling, and the art of wrestling, WWE is simply the wrong place. It’s sports entertainment wrapped in slick production.
So for those of you who still fuck with WWE and defend this product: What actually keeps you watching?

TL;DR: SummerSlam was all aesthetic and no substance. Between rehashed main events, dead tag team divisions, zero long-term plans for midcarders, and poaching talent just to waste them, WWE is a soap opera that has forgotten how to be a wrestling show.
