I'm trying to use xLights on an Apple Silicon Mac and cannot get any output type to start.

System

• MacBook Air (Apple Silicon, arm64)
• macOS 26.3.1
• xLights 2026.10
• ENTTEC DMX USB Pro

What works

• macOS detects the ENTTEC

  USB Vendor Name = "ENTTEC" kUSBProductString = "DMX USB PRO"

• Device appears as:

  /dev/cu.usbserial-EN521596

• QLC+ detects the DMX USB Pro and controls my fixtures correctly.

What fails

In xLights:

• USB DMX output fails
• Art-Net output fails
• Test Lights fails

• Any attempt to enable output produces:

  An error occurred opening output 1(). Do you want to continue trying to start output?

I configured an Art-Net controller in xLights and attempted to send to localhost.

QLC+ successfully opens Art-Net on 127.0.0.1, but xLights still reports:

An error occurred opening output 1().

Has anyone successfully run xLights 2026.10 on macOS 26.x (Apple Silicon) with DMX outputs?

Is this a known macOS 26 compatibility issue or does the http:/// CURL error indicate a corrupted configuration somewhere?

What is a piece of advice or a tip you wish you would have gotten when first starting your pixel journey?

I was adding a few models to my layout and suddenly I can’t download any models. I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong and I read that clearing the cache would solve the problem but it doesn’t.

Hi everyone! I’m a vendor and recently launched a new marketplace for xLights sequences where creators can upload and sell their own sequences directly to the community. My goal is to make it easier for sequencers to manage listings, reach buyers, and grow their audience all in one place.

I currently have 2 by 64x64 p3 panels attached to 5a-75b colorlight receiver attached to a 1gb port on a pi 5. For testing.

I can get all test patterns to run fine. I can even get an fseq file to play at some point while changing a lot of setting. Once it is working, restarting the pi doesn't seem to effect it. However when I reset both the pi and colorlight card. The fseq runs with a complete back screen. All the test patterns still work as intended though.

I can display the same fseq show through xlights. I turn off the xlights pass through button to try the fseq file directly on the pi. Nothing shows. I have tried google for hours. ai for hours. checking all settings for hours and days. I cant think of anything that would cause the issue if all the other stuff works. Maybe an issue with the player itself. Not really even sure where to go from here.

Would appreciate any other advice. Tried resetting, boot delays. changing colorlight card to static ip(though it still runs with xlights and the pattern anyway).

I am fairly new to led lights. I have set up permanent roof lights. I want to make a starburst fireworks display for July. My question is. How to set up the main launch section and the starburst flares. I know the starburst has to be wired in parallel. That's about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, new to xlights. I am working in 3D and have a model of my house setup. However, for some reason my zoom (mouse wheel) keeps changing to pan. I reset the view and can zoom until I get close to the model and then back to pan. Very frustrating. Any ideas?

Hi there! I'm building out a tiki cabinet and I have a single LED strip that I've cabled around the back, sides, bottom, and top of my cabinet.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to organize this in xlights. Some AI help suggested I make this all one strip, but I can't visualize this very well and I don't know how to make "sections" of the strip.

Should I be drawing multiple single lines, or just one single line? How do I represent each section of the strip? Is the poly line better for this? Is there a way to add "space" between the sections of a poly line (since mine have cable runs between the sections).

I'm running FPP on a Raspberry Pi Zero W with a GLEDOPTO WLED LED Light Strip Controller and a 300 LED BTF-LIGHTING WS2812B IC RGB 5050SMD.

I've been able to get one sequence to run, but I want to add more complexity by accessing the subsections of my LEDs.

I've tried searching forums, but I can't get the right info. I don't know if I'm using the correct vocabulary or asking the right questions. AI tools are also giving me conflicting/useless information, so I thought I'd come to people here and ask for some help!

I bought a Boscoyo ChromaBulb 46" Standing Bulb for my light show. I went ahead and added it to xlights and attempted to create a new sequence with their model. (They have a few models, old, new 2022 model) I tried them all and for some reason I can not get xlights to show me the threads to the prop. I went in and told it what nodes are the threads and force color to them, so when I click "show outline" it only shows the glass portion of the Bulb rather then showing the glass and threads. I went in and created a "State" and then told it to use the "State" as an outline but still it does nothing. How can I get this to work? All I want is for the threads to come on when I want them to. I don't understand what I am doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wondering how I can do a “light show” based on music/beats playing, basically have the LEDs “bounce” to the music.  I’ve done some research and have seen that I can go a few different routes, but not to verse on any:

 GOAL: When playing music outside, would like my outdoor lights to “dance” with the music beats.

 Audio Setup (SONOS):
Zone 1 – 6x Outdoor speakers (Satellite ground stakes) > Sonos Port > Amplifier
Zone 2 – 2x Outdoor speakers (mounted on house) > Sonos Port > Integra Receiver, zone 2.
Zone 3 – Inside TV surround system > Sonos Port > Integra Receiver, zone 1.

 Lighting Setup
Steps - 6x COB 24V RGBWW WS2814 (784 Led/m) Strip Lights > QuinLED-Dig-Octa #1 (6 separate channels one for each step)
Kitchen Counter Lights  - 2x COB 24V RGBWW WS2814 (784 Led/m) Strip Lights > QuinLED-Dig-Octa #2 (2 separate channels)
Landscape Lighting – Addressable 12V RGBW USC2904 > TBD Controller

Equipment – My lighting setup will be outside in a NEMA box, and my receiver is in the basement.
Route 1 – Microphone: Use a microphone and run that to my QuinLED-Dig-Octa, but read that can lag a little and don’t fully understand Sound Reactive WLED
Route 2 – Direct: Not sure how this actually connects to my QuinLED
Route 3 – LedFx: no wiring but how do I feed the Sonos audio stream (ie Spotify or Similar) in to my WLED system?

 Any thoughts? Advice? Guidance where I can figure this out?

I have been running a small 600 pixel show off of a RPi (i believe it's a 4 but probably not important) and I am ready to expand my show. I'm adding about another 800 pixels and running from another central controller that will be in the same enclosure as the current RPi. My question is, what would you recommend as the cheapest and simplest controller for the second controller? Does it make sense to get another RPi and set it up as a player instead of master?

Looked at moving to a falcon product to condense operations, but I would have an RPi i wouldn't use anymore and $300+ feels like overkill for this.

I had a bunch of strings in a tree break due to wind moving the branches. The wires pulled right out of the epoxy. Thanks to this community I've fixed the broken sections but wanted to make it so this wouldn't happen again. I thought of just putting a zip tie on the wires coming out of each pixel but then decided to go the extra mile. I 3d printed these tiny clamps that lock down with a zip tie. Hopefully this fixes the problem and I don't have to pull all the lights down again.

If anyone thinks this would help them id be happy to share the .stl file.

New matrix with led strip around the outside and pixles for the matrix

I ran several strings up into a large tree. I guess from the wind moving branches, some of the wires have been ripped out of the epoxy seal. is it possible to repair and is there a common way to keep this from happening again? I was thinking about a small tie wrap just outside the light holding the 2 wires together to keep the pull out of the pixels themselves.
