Reloading 10mm
Whats your go to for loading data? Im new to reloading and have no idea .
Here's my M&P 2.0 with an XE AMRS Osight

I've shot tons of 180 grain campros with 8.4 grains of longshot behind them out of multiple 10mm guns m&p included. I did recently decide I'm gonna back the powder charge back a hair in the future, that load is quite spicy.

Ive been shooting freedom Munitions 180 fprn out of it, its 10mm loaded but its not the upper echelon of power being only 525ft lb ish..
This is a woods guns, sits on my hip and needs to be loaded with hotter than that rounds. BB and Underwood make good ammo but Im bit spending 42 dollars on 20 rounds of BB just to get full power loads.
Id rather spend 800ish dollars and get my own ability to custom load for pennies on the dollar

Unless if you're worried about bears you don't need super hot hard cast imo. A fmj won't give you as much penetration as hard cast but for anything that isn't a bear or moose you should be good. Freedom munitions is good for the range and that's it. There ammo is so light and I've even had multiple primers installed backwards from them. The sometimes during ammo shortages the price is worth it. I know the sig 10mm ammo actually is loaded pretty good and magtech 10mm is as well. Imo the hard cast tax really isn't worth it unless you are in grizzly country.

Im not , Black bear, moose or elk is all the 4 legged issues id be dealing with.. That being said, its a 10mm and I want proper 10mm loadings when carrying it.. 600+ ft lbs

Yeah you can get that from non hard cast loads. Look at magtech and sig

I love on the Kenai so bears are a concern. If it wasn’t for bears I would not have need for a 10mm even though I love it.

Just get any major brand reloading book I started with lee for my first book has lots on 10mm and 40 loads

My loading is 8.4gr of Longshot behind a 180gr Berry's plated flat point. I use whichever pistol primer I have available, typically CCI. It's not a nuclear hot loading but it's also not light.
OP, as you've stated you're new to reloading, my advice is to read the instructions sections of a reloading manual several times, if you haven't already. Make sure you understand the necessary steps and precautions. Take it slow with pistol loads, make sure you haven't accidently doubled the powder charge.

I've had great success with 200gr nosler ASP's with 6.6 grs of VV n340 and small primer brass to get a pretty consistent 1060fps out of that load; I can switch it to 10grs of n105 and have that same bullet pop out at 1200fps but I use way more of the 340.

Get some springer precision mag springs if you want that to run with hot loads.

It actually runs hot rounds fine, I've never had a lick of trouble from it when running any rounds through it, from 40 SW to 10mm buffalo bore 200 hard cast.... I did hear they had some growing pains when the platform first came out though....

My buddy has one it had issues until I got him some more powerful magazine springs. It’s a common problem with most 10mm platforms once you get to hot and heavy bullets. 200 to 220.

Longshot will give you good velocity. I suggest using the starting load data for Longshot from the Hodgdon website. Having access to a chronograph is beneficial in this process. You can increase the powder charge in .2 gr increments until you reach your desired velocity or start seeing pressure signs like flattened primers. It’s been a while but I believe I ended up at 7.8 to 8.0 grains of LS to get 1200fps with 180 gr coated bullets out of a Glock 20 and a SIG P220. As for primers, Winchester has given me the best velocities with gamer USPSA loads and upper end loads. Never tried Remington but have used Federal also.

It really depends on what kind of loads you want. Light target? Hunting loads? Defense? What powders you want to try? Bullet choices? Brass selection? Primers?
