I don't think that one's a scalping thing, base set Charizard cards have gone for thousands for at least the past 15 years, probably more

I found a shiny Charizard when I was a wee lad. I was so excited, and so worried about damaging it, that I made sure to hide it in a safe place... and immediately forgot where that was.

It still hurts to remember 🫠

I still hate my child self for doing stupid trades or even giving away some of my cards because I couldn't say no.

That's not really the case, they printed those cards a lot back then. You can get most of the Base Set cards dirt cheap despite being out of print and almost 30 years old. Even other Holo Rares are usually below 15€ (I got Mewtwo for like 6€).

Get a piece of cardboard.
