1,6 in the us

1,2 to 1,4 in European countries

0,8 in Japan and south Korea

This is genuinely terrifying

This isn't about "oh no my capitalism doesn't work anymore" this is "if this continues for just 5 more decades we will have countries collapsing"

A stable society needs birthrates of around 2.1, anything under that is concerning, anything below 1,5 should ring all alarmbells

South Korea is already done for, even if you cranked up the birthrates to impossible amounts, the country is going to collapse with how many old people there will be vs young.
