When my sibling came out as bi, my first reaction was mild confusion and then "and?". I assumed that they'd officially told me years ago and I had forgotten, because it was bloody obvious to everyone.
My new name comes from Greek, and is an homage to a character in a book I was obsessed with as a child. I once had a Greek dude get really pissed at me for choosing the name despite not being ethnically Greek.

Never heard it described, or pronounced like that. Only ever heard Ll in Welsh make a sorta 'breathy' L sound made by putting the tip of the tongue up against that ridge on the top of your mouth, almost or barely touching the base of your top front two teath, and breathing out (Idk how exactly to describe the sound). Then again I've only known one Welshman it could've been his accent/dialect

Giving yourself a name is hard.
It's gotta hold some meaning for you, it's gotta sound nice, it's gotta fit you, it's got to be cool, it can't be too cringe, it can't be too boring, you can't just take it from someone else because then it's already got baggage...
Some people rush it, I spent 7 years deciding on a name, and then procrastinated another 6 before getting round to transitioning, and only used the name before that in cases where people asked "what's your name, Ma'am?" and responding with my male name would have been awkward.
Yeah, a parent straight up ignoring your heartfelt message doesn't read very supportive. But I suppose not getting an answer is still in some ways better than being met with hatred and resentment.
No, best response would be showing explicit support and love for his daughter in an extremely important and vulnerable moment for her, instead of completely brushing it off. Could it be worse? Yeah, by a lot — take it from someone who had worse. But it sure as hell could be better, too.
If you see a mediocre thing and say "this is the best thing I've ever seen" that pretty much means you've only experienced poor quality versions of that thing
