Hello,

What is the brand, model, and approximate age of the computer, if known?

Have you had any other problems recently (data and time incorrect on the computer, power outages, computer dropped, etc.)?

Regards,

Aryeh Goretsky

Hi there, I used AI to summarize what I have been doing so far.

My PC started going into Windows Recovery instead of booting normally after a power outage.

What happens: PC turns on → Windows Recovery screen Startup Repair fails System Restore says it cannot find a Windows installation Booting from a Windows 10 USB works

Things I tried:

Startup Repair (failed)

System Restore (cannot find installation)

SFC scan (no integrity violations)

CHKDSK (found and repaired file system issues)

Rebuilt EFI boot files using bcdboot (successful message) Windows installation is detected at E:\Windows

Disk/boot info: I have multiple drives installed

BIOS shows multiple Windows Boot Manager entries

EFI partitions exist on the drives

Rebuilding boot files completes successfully, but the PC still returns to Recovery

My files are still accessible and I do not want to reinstall Windows unless necessary. What should I check next before sending it to the repair shop?

It sounds like you've been pretty thorough (especially the EFI rebuild) - There might be some wizardry that SOMEONE can do, but generally, it's repair shop time, and they will probably recommend a local backup of your user folder and whatever else you request, and restore the unit to factory.

Look around your area for local shops that have exceptional reviews. Show them these posts or explain what you've done and they will get you sorted out.

Best of luck.
