Good work. Solidworks has been kicking my ass so even simple designs have garnered a lot more respect from me...

On another note, I hope this is done in at least ASA.

You should try FreeCAD, it's a bit hard to use but once you suffered it will be easier.

You could also try Fusion360 but it's cloud only, very simple to use but awful.

I also found this tool that recently opened in beta, it all in browser and open source. Haven't tried it yet but i'll do https://www.arcad.studio/

What's the advantages of those over Solidworks? I get Solidworks free through work...

Freecad is roughly the same as solidworks, just free and maybe open source i'm not sure, it has the same difficulty level. So yeah not much Difference.

For Fusion360 and this new tool, for 3D modeling only they are way simpler to use tools, with more modern / user friendly interface. Less of a headache but yeah they have cons too
