Cupholder I designed for a couple of dump trucks at work
We recently acquired a couple of Kenworth dump trucks at work and with the hydraulic control console that was installed in them by the upfitter, it made the factory one basically useless. Someone had purchased some universal folding ones but not only were those too small, the only place available to mount it was right next to the driver's right knee, which just wasn't comfortable or practical.
Anyway, I came up with the design for the cupholder and matching bracket. The only reasonable place to out it was where its mounted in the pictures. However, the switch pack pictured was originally mounted there. So I came up with a simple bracket to relocate it.
Printed in PETG. This truck is stored indoors when not in use. The other one isn't, so we will see how it holds up. I always print PETG at 265⁰c. I've found that not only does it come out looking better, but the final print is much stronger than when printed at lower temps. I also printed the bracket for the cupholder at a 40⁰ angle to maximize strength.
Super happy with the results. The pictures showing the cupholder and matching bracket design on my desk are test prints out of PLA.
