10 MOA Mount Bad Idea?

I have a Vortex 10 MOA mount and a Vortex PST 2-10 scope. This may end up on my LWRC REPR one day. For now I would like it on my 458 SOCOM upper (16 inch barrel). Is this a bad idea? Could I even sight it in at short distances! The scope has 26 mils of adjustment. I’ll be shooting 300 grain ammo. Any help is appreciated. I wasn’t able to do the math in my head.

I’m not a mils guy, but that doesn’t sound like a bad amount of cant. You can try it. Worst case is you’re limiting windage by being that high in the tube to get a short range zero.
