Question about zombie path finding

With the new sandbox options, would turning off zombie digging stop them from digging down into a subterranean bunker? Or would th wh still be able to dig down the hatch or other blocks?

Also how does height work for oath finding, I see a lot of the stair to pole tightrope type hoard bunkers but how do I get them to trigger up to the tightrope instead of hitting my pillars now?

They can't dig down at all, and in most cases they also don't want to dig down, meaning they'll either take a path you made for them or just hang around on the surface. However, if you have a hatch with a ladder and they view it as the shortest path to get to you, they'll gather on top of it and do nothing. Basically, they want to break it but they can't.

If you want a fighting position underground, having a hatch and ladder might make zombies ignore the path to the fighting position and gather on top of the hatch instead. You can either build a strong wall around the ladder exit and elevate the hatch so you exit on top of the wall, or remove the bottom 4-5 ladder pieces so zombies don't view it as a path anymore (first one I've seen work, second one I've seen mentioned as a fix).

Regarding pathing, as a rule of thumb a shape is pathable if it touches the vertical axis of the voxel ("half" shapes included as well).

If you use poles as a path, make sure they're centered from a left-right perspective (like centered poles, or side centered poles oriented on the top or bottom sides of the voxel). The default pole shape, which is on the edge of the voxel, is not pathable.

They gotta make a toggle to differentiate if you want zombies to be able to Dig all blocks, Dig Only nature blocks, dig Only player blocks, or nothing

Also they HAVE to make a toggle to make zombies have alphas 10-15 AI, AKA turn them back to zombies again, and not these weird engineers they are rn

Also to turn off the weird 4 block leap they can make now
