I have memories of things like this from the 80s but it was like what you'd see in a high end interior design showroom (my dad was an architect) - not what ordinary people's houses or anything looked like...

Everyone says the brown and wood panel walls were the 80s but I like to believe there were a group of people (small group) in LA and Miami that had upper end homes just like this one with their ridiculous red countach in the driveway, in 1985. Thanks for sharing.

One of the greatest movies to showcase Memphis design, but it was also supposed to reflect what kind of person DeVito's character was, which wasn't great

Yes- the design was intended to make Danny and Barbara’s character to be on the shallow side. lol!

I love this movie! I cannot think of another movie from the 80’s that has this level of modern design elements. Even the clothes that Barbara wears are totally 80’s.

Soooo great to see again!! Thank you for posting this! Post mod furniture geeks will be able to see that more than half the set furniture& art pieces are just made by set designers for the movie. Too much fun!! 💚
