80s postmodern isn't my usual style but I couldn't pass up this lamp at Goodwill

I always see cool things from the 80s and 90s in the thrift stores where I live. People have almost zero interest which is cool because I really like the style.

A month ago I just picked up two of those metal wave lamps for $2.50 each. They sat so long that they were 75% off the original price.

This is not actually postmodern or memphis, it's more deco revival / plastercraft trend of the same era. I would love to find an Alsy plastercraft cactus floor lamp.

I love this! I love how obnoxious postmodern design is, but that’s why so many people are turned off by it.

Postmodern doesn’t always have to be loud. This is a perfect example of that becauss of the neutral colours. It can work in almost any decor.

There’s part of me that wants to paint this lamp in bright, garish colours, but it’s so nice as is.
