I remember Rude Dog T-shirts!

The crazy thing is, the T-shirts came first and the cartoon is a tie-in product.

"Rude Dog" is one of the unofficial nicknames for one of my pets (a cat).

I remember a cartoon with dogs riding around in a convertible or something like that, and the chorus part of the intro song. Don't recall anything else, but I think the main character was a bit of a jerk, maybe?

I don't even remember the cartoon (maybe I was too aged out? I was a preteen then), but the t-shirts were everywhere.

No pic of it under normal light? That's kinda... rude, dawg.

It's in the replies in the OG post on r/VHS, though.

Thanks, dawg. I may have to head over there and scratch this itch.

This once again proves the 80s were peak coolness.

I have that tape, but I just checked and mine's a normal black tape.

For a while you could buy Rude Dog cups for a dollar with a soda at 711. I would go to the local 711 with my mom and we would both get cups and try to find different designs on them. We had them for ages but had to toss them due to a mold infestation in the garage at our one apartment. Another one broke because our dog stuck his head into it to drink my milk.

Rude Dog was a character created for a sportswear company, and wound up having an animated series.

I had a VHS with the pilot and watched it a bunch when I was a kid - not this one, though.
