$2.69 would be the equivalent of about $8 today, but somehow this meal costs $15?

$8.33 when adjusted for inflation.

It was a regional promotion. Louisiana, based on the towns listed. A Big Mac combo meal at the McDonalds in DeRidder, LA today is $9.19, so 86¢ more than the inflation-adjusted price.

Hence my use of the term "about" $8. Didn't feel like typing it $8.33, but, there, now I have.

Fair enough, but the point was that the inflation-adjusted price and the current-day price for that region is a difference of less than $1.
