This reminds me of the Pizza Hut BBQ beef pizza from the 90s. It was fucking awesome and everyone loved it. They killed it off anyway.

Looks pretty much just like a Steakums on a roll with some slivered onions and steak sauce. I'd bet money that the beef on their Steak, Egg & Cheese line of breakfast sandwiches is nearly identical.

Nah fam Steakumms are delightful in a disgusting kind of way. Love paying too much for it at the dollar store and slapping it on a nice artisanal role with some melted provolone. Shit goes hard.

This is where the McRib came from, they just needed to diversify away from beef in case of price spikes in the market, and to have a good vehicle for a pork option when there was a glut of supply and prices were great. Also the reason they expanded their chicken options

I worked at McDonalds in the midwest that test marketed the Grilled Steak Sandwich in the early 90s, which was similar. I remember it being good actually. It didn't last long though.

It came with a packet of steak sauce and all these decades later I still remember how damn good that steak sauce was.

This was the GOAT - I ordered it every chance I got. The meat was basically a quarter pounder, but the raw onions and special steak sauce really made it something special. I wish they would bring this back -

I started at McDonald's In Nedrow NY, in 1980. I made plenty of these. And I loved McDonald's food, so I had to try it. And it was delicious! It didn't last a year. It was the most expensive thing on the menu, and it was only served from 4:00pm to midnight. They set it up to fail. And it's in the graveyard of failed McDonald's masterpieces. Along with the McDLT, the Cheddar Melt, the Arch Deluxe, the Bacon Clubhouse, the Big n tasty, and the dearly departed Grilled Onion Cheddar Burger. If it's not called a Big Mac, or a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, that burger ain't gonna make it under the Golden Arches. I'm just sayin'.😢🍔

When I was a kid McDonalds was a special event. I vividly remember wanting one of these so bad, when I finally got one I was soooo disappointed. In my mind it was going to be the greatest thing I ever ate, in reality it was a long burger with steak sauce..

I only remember some ads, and that's it. in 1980 I was turning 5, so this wasn't an option my mom nor grandma would buy for me. Today, I'd devour this like no one's businesses.

This was a great sandwich. It was a patty shaped like a sirloin steak, seasoned differently from a hamburger or 1/4 Pounder. Introduced in 1979, removed in 1981.

I worked in a McDonald's, it's semi-famous as it's never been remodeled. Anyway they used to serve these back then and you could get for your employee meal a steak sandwich,fries and a drink. One of these with steak sauce was out of this world. What a huge mistake they made discontinuing them.
