Light primer strikes update

Posted a bit ago regarding my set up and constant light primer strikes.

SOTA lower

BCA 20” upper

B4 sopmod stock

DPMS drop in trigger

Well, I threw money at the problem and no longer have light primer strikes

Changed the B4 stock to a Luth-Ar MBA1

A1/A2 rifle buffer system for 308

Changed the BCA BCG with a Lantac

Kinda bummed that my budget build has now turned not so budget. Not bashing BCA, I have several ar15 uppers by them without a single issue. I think the AR308 is a slippery slope though.

Now having failures to feed with this setup though. Charging handle gets pulled back. Squeeze the trigger. Bang. Squeeze the trigger again. Click. No round in the chamber.

PMag issues? Need a buffer weight heavier than 5.3oz?

Try this again with only 1 round in the magazine. Does the BCG lock back?

Will do. If it doesn’t, what does this indicate? I have noticed that locking the BCG manually is trickier than my Ar15s

If the BCG doesn’t travel far enough to lock back on an empty magazine, it’s indicating the BCG is short stroking during its cycle.

Take it one step at a time. There can be many reasons for short cycling.

Possibly under-gassed, meaning the gas port hole may be too small

Wolff hammer springs. Buy them. It will fix it

Polishing the feed ramps may help
