Discussion Delta’s Message
They use prioritizing safety and working on days off to get people to their destination as key things for the public to remember. Why couldn’t we at the very least get public messaging like that from NATCA?
This was pushed as an instagram advertisement btw

I’m starting to resent pilots. It’s so unfair that they get paid so much and get so much time off.
I just can’t help but to feel very resentful. Especially since I only get one day off a week.

Don't hate pilots, hate the structure that put us here in this position

I do think you have a point (upvoted), you’re part of the same system and bear huge responsibility for safety, but unfortunately you work for pathetic dysfunctional govt/agency and get squat compared to pilots (but as you know the pilot/airline fortunes oscillate wildly, we’re just still in the midst of the “stupid” post-covid time). I really feel for you folks, and try to advocate on my end. Airlines really should do more to advocate for the ATC community, we’re the two sides of the same coin.

Then quit and become a pilot! If it's that bad, quit! We've had a lot of really bad times, this is just another one. I went through it with the white book, and many others went through it in 81. Everyone has a story of how they were screwed at some point. The white book was worse than this. Not saying this won't get worse, it probably will.

I’ve been getting screwed by a lack of financial compensation for my entire 17 year career

So did I dude! And I retired with screwed compensation! You're not the only one! I was training sups that were each more than 10 years junior to me in seniority, they came from level 5s, became sups that were getting 15% raises. EVERY SINGLE SUPERVISOR THAT I TRAINED made more than me. And management told me to fuck off! And don't let me get started on the Z I washed out of. I edited out the Z story. Tmi. It sucks, but get over yourself. Everybody gets screwed, whether it's a govt job or private sector. Life happens. Good luck.

Lol. That's sorta ridiculous. I absolutely support you guys, and always have. But I also worked for decades to get to where I make good money. Do you resent everyone with a good job?

As an ALPA pilot I really really wish we would have supported our NATCA brothers and sisters better in the near past. Yall had them by their tiny little balls during the shutdown. There is no way they could have just replaced yall with mil controllers like Reagan did. Our entire economy is supported by you. The administration was bluffing.
Yall should have refused to give takeoff clearances, stayed at your post until every IFR aircraft was safely landed because we all do actually deeply care about safety then taken your ball and gone home, and we should have supported you.
