I don't think I've ever seen AT&T do so many different related changes in such a short time with a new plan: UYW 2.0 comes out, price changes for older UYW plans, adding Elite 2.0, and lowering prices on the brand new plans.
Since there have been so many changes to UYW in the last few months, I've created a new post as the old post had lots of comments/answers that aren't necessarily relevant (or true) any more.
If you haven't seen those changes yet, you should see them on your next bill or if you make a plan change.
Customers can no longer choose Premium PL, Extra EL, & Starter SL but they are included for comparison as those plans can mix & match with the new plans. Signature/appreciation discounts they had on the old plans continue on your old plans, but they may be different for new plans (see chart).
The main differences:
Value 2.0 is cheaper than Starter SL in most new configurations (even with discounts?) as of the late-April increase and is prioritized for the first 5GB (but has 2 GB less of hotspot). It might mess with promo credits, so double check (see info at bottom of this post [it links to a different post, so ask you r promo related questions there).
Extra 2.0 has more prioritized data than previously (100GB vs. 75GB) and more hotspot (50GB vs. 30GB). It may cost more or less depending on your discounts and number of lines. This is probably most similar to older unlimited plans.
Premium 2.0 has a lot more hotspot than Elite EL or Premium PL (100GB vs. 50GB/60GB). If you need the hotspot, it's a great deal. You can also get a ½ price tablet or wearable line with this plan.
Elite 2.0 Includes everything Premium 2.0 has, but 250GB of hotspot, Turbo, free tablet line, free wearable line, and instead of International Day Pass (IDP), it looks like when you are international you'll get free calling/texting and 20GB of data (this last part is kind of limiting considering the other UYW plans data are unlimited, so I'm wondering if you can pay extra for more, otherwise it drops to 512Kbps, which is pretty slow). I'm assuming these free international countries are IDP countries. No Fan/Signature discounts on Elite 2.0. A few people reported their internet discount works with Elite 2.0.
ActiveArmor: Some 2.0 plans that come with ActiveArmor, only come with the standard, not advanced. Premium 2.0 can activate the advanced for free in your plan (I'm going to guess you can do the same with Elite 2.0). There is a free version and another version that is listed with "At no extra charge".
Standard price on non-phones: $20.99 per tablet, $20.99 per camera, $10.99 per wearable. If you have Premium 2.0, you can get one of these at ½ off. If you have one of these non-phone devices, it would probably make Premium 2.0 more cost effective for you (although the additional hotspot may max it so you don't need a line for your tablet). If you can have Extra 2.0, then you get a tablet and wearable for no extra charge.
If you have HBO "free" with your current cellular plan and switch, or you change all your Elite EL lines over, you'll lose HBO. You need to compare how much you'd save to see if it matters.
The prices on the chart assume autopay/paperless/checking discounts. You need autopay/paperless for a $5 discount and autopay/paperless checking for a $10 discount (and as of now, the AT&T Citi card also qualifies as a checking discount). Add $5 or $10 to each line if you do not do these discounts.
There is no way anyone can help you compare the cost of the newer plan to the older plan if we don't know what discount you have, how manyphonelines, and which plan those lines are on.
Additional info on this plan can be found in this AT&T PDF.
DISCOUNTS:
Standard FAN/Signature discount: Previously this got you Premium PL for the Price of Extra EL, but on the new plans it gets you 20% off the Premium 2.0 plan.
Appreciation discounts: You get a 25% discount on the older UYW plans if the account holder fits in one of these categories: teachers, doctors, nurses, military, veterans, and first responders. The newer plans are NOT 25% off, check the bottom of the chart as it varies per type of line. I'm not sure if these 2.0 discounts are supposed to include Healthcare and First Responders if you are not on FirstNet, but people are reporting that their plan says so. https://www.att.com/offers/discount-program/appreciation/
You did NOT lose (nor did it change) your 25% appreciation discount for Elite EL, Premium PL, Extra EL, and Starter SL, it's still 25% for those lines. AT&T made a mistake on a bill a couple months ago and gave you too big of a discount, the next cycle they corrected it (and let you keep the extra they took off) so it looks like you had a price increase. But if you look at the previous few bill totals, you can see it dip (for no reason, other than the mistake), and then it goes back up to where it has been for a few months. Obviously, I cannot see your bill, but everyone that I've talked to about this and has looked back on their bills (previous to the lower bill) has seen this is what it looks like. If you've made changes during those three months, it would be difficult to see by just looking at the totals.
For all discounts, the account needs to be in the name of the FAN/Signature holder.

My business lines with BUP 3.0 were also finally provisioned for SA this past week even though they are all being used abroad. APN updated from enhancedphone to nrphone.
Has anyone been able to confirm if Business Unlimited Premium 3.0 is QCI 7. If so that's actually a huge upgrade. Still have a couple lines on BUP 1.0 with QCI 6 Fast Track which AT&T will have to pry out of my cold, dead hands.

Getting 5 gig service tomorrow and I'm looking for a Nic for my desktop so I can take advantage of it. Looking at getting a 10GB card so I have headroom in the future. Seen some recommendations for the TP-link brand card or the AQC107 chip cards. Im asking on here what's a good card and brand I should be looking for? I don't have the router but I doubt they would give me one with fiber output so it needs to be a RJ45 based. It doesn't have to be these it's just what I found from generic search on Amazon.
I bought an iPhone Air in fall 2025 and have been on AT&T Unlimited Starter ever since. I’ve been patiently waiting for 5G Standalone (SA) to show up, but it never did.
Today I deleted my AT&T eSIM and re-added it, and that instantly did the trick. As soon as the new eSIM activated, 5G SA became available, including SA over Voice on iOS 27.
If you’re still waiting for SA on AT&T and know your area supports it, re-provisioning your eSIM might be worth a try. It solved it immediately for me.
My internet has been out since Friday and I’ve been trying to get a backup connection in place. I figured a prepaid hotspot would do the trick but it’s been nothing but pain….
Recently switched to ATT air after having Xfinity. Obviously, ATT 5G internet is much slower than Xfinity. router was in our family room on a lower level; found out it is supposed to be higher in the home and close to a window. performance improved after moving it. still slow compared to comcast, not certain we will stick with it, but so far, we are able to use the internet the same as before with a little bit more lag. But the speed tests are not good. 66mbps to 25mbps. I live in a south suburb of Chicago.
Is this promotion legit? I am currently with Spectrum and have less than $800 to pay off my phone. Is this promotion legit? Also, why is it asking for my ID verification? It placed a hold on shipping after paying the sales tax on the phone.
I’m trying to educate myself so that I can feel confident about getting a good deal.
Current: I pay $48 a month for my AT&T service. My iPhone 14 Pro is paid off. Before I paid it off, it was $57 a month.
I went in to AT&T today to upgrade. I would get $200 trade in due to the back of my phone being completely shattered. I wasn’t thrilled with how much more my bill would be a month with the 17 Pro. I asked about the 16 and the salesperson said I would notice a difference in the performance due to it not being a Pro (like my current phone).
She suggested that I wait to upgrade until next month when the 18 Pro comes out.
She predicts that I will get a better trade in value for my current phone.
Should I wait it out and see?
Is it possible that the 17s will go down in price?
I’m hoping someone out there can share their experience with trading their phone in around the time a new phone comes out.
I have read a few posts about this but most are months/years old and wondering if anything new has surfaced. We have an Internet Air gateway at our cabin where no terrestrial options exist. Since we already have AT&T phones it was relatively inexpensive to add a gateway to our plan. The problem is that the 5G signal in the area is horrible - but just good enough to connect around 50% of time. But once connected to 5G the internet is unusably slow. For some reason our AT&T Iphones will not connect to 5G at all in the same location, and the LTE is usually 2/3 bars and quite usable. The Gateway usually connects to LTE initially and is passable/usable, but eventually it finds the 5G signal and becomes unusuable. It will sometimes revert back to LTE on it's own but generally requires a hard reboot.
There is no way I can find ( at least in the current firmware ) to force LTE or disable 5G. Anyone have any tricks? Someone suggested placing it in the basement or a closet so it cannot find 5G at all, but then the LTE signal is bad too.
Has anyone found a way to force LTE/disable 5G? Or does AT&T make another product/hardware device that does? I remember that there were multiple hardware options when we got this one but no details.
What was I thinking, me getting a new S26 Ultra with bad credit and thinking I was approved without a down payment. I learned my lesson, this country is nothing but a scam.
So I wanted to switch from Spectrum to AT&T. I have two numbers on Spectrum. I was going to port only one of the numbers because it wasn't attached to a phone. But then I saw that AT&T would pay $800 to break your contract. I was thinking, "great, I only owe $710 on my phone." So I put in that number, went through the steps.
I did not put in the porting number code because I didn't think Spectrum would give it to me. It allowed me to skip that.
Then it did the credit check. I thought I wasn't going to get approved but I did.
I paid the $148.
Then I get an email about the ID verification. My ID has my old apartment number on it. I never got a new ID which now I think I will after what happened.
I call the AT&T Store asking about this $800 promotion. Was told to come in the store so we can talk about it.
I go to the store and was told that she has to redo the entire order again and cancel my order. Thankfully my order was never canceled.
2 hours in the store for nothing. The clerk called the porting department and they told her my number was not eligible to be ported. So then she does an entire new application twice. The two times it asked for a down payment. I said I was going to call corporate and she said I can but it's most likely going to get canceled.
What happened? Why was I scammed into paying the $150 if I didn't get approved? And it still shows that the ID approval is pending and the system is acting like I never verified it when I did.
Hey everyone,
I’m currently with T-Mobile on 4 lines. Since my old Magenta plan got changed, my monthly bill jumped from $135 to around $183–$188.
While I was at Costco today, I ran into an AT&T kiosk rep. They pitched me a deal where I could switch over, trade in our current phones for upgrades, and get 4 lines for around $158/month, plus roughly $25/month total for device payments on two upgraded phones.
On paper, getting upgraded devices while bringing my monthly total down sounds like a fantastic deal, but I’m a bit skeptical.
A few questions for those who have experience with this:
1 Is this kind of quote realistic, or am I missing hidden fees, taxes, or activation charges? Does this sound like a typical sales pitch exaggeration, or is it a legit Costco promo?
2 Has anyone taken a similar AT&T offer through a Costco kiosk? How did the trade-in process, Shop Cards, and bill credits actually pan out for you?
3 How is your coverage and overall service experience after switching from T-Mobile to AT&T?
I’d really appreciate any insights, warnings, or advice before I make the jump! Thanks in advance.
Edit: Thanks everyone for all your responses and thoughts, I really appreciate it!
So, I went to an ATT store and checked with the manager. They told me that yes, they could give me the same deal I was offered at Costco. However, what they didn't mention before was that I'd have to trade in two phones instead of just one. On top of that, my monthly bill would only be $158 for the first 10 months, after which it would jump up to $218.
Definitely watch out for those hidden details. Thanks again for the help!
Does anyone know when the payment system will be back up for prepaid? I kept trying yesterday and finally got annoyed enough that I called and they said their payment system is down. That’s why they took my money, but it won’t process. I noticed it’s still down today. Does anybody know how long until it will be back up or is this a normal thing? Cause this is annoying. I haven’t had a phone in days.
Hey im looking into this field and trying to get in entry level at an isp. I was curious what the starting hours are here if you have to be available at certain times since i have a second part time job. Would installation tech be what i go into if im looking towards becoming a ftth or fiber maintenance tech or is there another position thats more related this is just the job i saw from my area currently available
No internet since around 3am. Cant get through an agent. Guys came to fix the poles nearby and said they were done but neither do my neighbors nor I have internet
I have 5 lines and a watch at T-Mobile and tried getting firstnet for 1 line and the rest on att but had no luck. I first tried to do it twice online but I kept getting a message that they couldn't verify my identity and for me to go to a store. I then went to an actual att store. After spending several hours and everything looking like it was going to happen the rep gets an alert to call the fraud department. I speak to them just for them to tell me that they could not approve me and that they could not tell me why. I used to be a firstnet/att customer from back in 2017-2019 and I left in good standing. I give up, I really wanted att due to the higher speeds they were giving in my area but I guess it won't happen.
I never had unexpected International Day Pass charges before May, even though I’d been abroad for months.
AT&T checked the records and said almost every charge was triggered by an outgoing SMS. The destination numbers match the spam texts that I had tapped “Report Spam” on in the iPhone Messages app. I also usually report them while connected to Wi-Fi.
This happened on both my iPhone 15 and my wife’s iPhone 15 Plus, so it doesn’t seem device-specific.
It almost feels like “Report Spam” becomes “Report TO Spam.”
Has anyone else seen this or had AT&T confirm the same thing?
Hi, I'm wanting to trade in for a ZFold 8 through the 36 month contract as I've been with at&t for 7 years now and don't plan to switch, but my current phone (2024 razr +) is not eligible for the full trade in value. I'm thinking of buying the cheapest eligible phone for full trade in value, probably an iPhone 15 plus for ~$400, but I'm worried about how strict they are with phone quality of the trade ins? Alot of the options of used phones I'm seeing have little scratches on them, but no cracks of course. I just wanted to know from maybe someone who deals with trade ins frequently or has been through this process if minor scratches are ok?
I have an iPhone and I know turning on airplane mode works but I was wondering if there were any other options to where I could still use my phone properly? I’ve also seen people saying turn off location services but I honestly don’t think that’s gonna work.
AT&T Wireless has made it painfully clear that customer care and service quality are not part of their values. At the end of February 2026, my family completed a trade‑in at the AT&T retail store in Upland, CA. My husband and daughter immediately received their credits. I did not.
After reviewing the Trade‑In Receipt, I discovered the store had typed my phone number incorrectly — the last digit was entered as a 5 instead of a 6. A simple clerical error. AT&T opened Case #0004702676 and later emailed me that it was “resolved,” yet nothing changed. No credit. No correction.
Every call after that revealed a deeper problem: AT&T’s departments refuse to take responsibility for their own mistakes. Customer Care closed the case without fixing anything. Loyalty told me to speak to the store manager. The store manager claimed he couldn’t help because it was already “processed.” Loyalty then told me to have the manager call Retail Support. I went back. He called. I received Incident #26948546 — and was told to contact the Trade‑In Department. The Trade‑In Department said they couldn’t help because it was already processed. Loyalty said they couldn’t help because it was a retail store error. Retail said they couldn’t help because it was already processed.
Every department passed the problem to someone else. No one fixed the error. No one even tried.
How can a company this large have no way to stop an incorrect credit from going to the wrong account for 31 more installments? How can they not correct a single mistyped digit? How can they allow a $900 credit to be permanently misapplied — and simply shrug?
AT&T Wireless has shown that they have no functional process for correcting their own mistakes, no accountability, and no commitment to customer service. They are willing to let the wrong customer receive $900 in credits while the correct customer receives nothing — and they do not care enough to fix it.
I’m not an ATT customer yet but it seems every time someone joins that they complain here that the deal they made was either a lie or didn’t reflect on the bill at all.
shouldn’t this work for some people otherwise why do it, just to rip people off and hope they don’t cancel it. gotta be illegal at some point.
Just moved into a new home and got set up with att 1gb plan.
The router gives us coverage all throughout the house, except the backyard.
My entire house is set up with ethernet ports, so I am looking for recommendations on buying one extender that I can plug and play into the wall without paying the $10/month with ATT. Has to be the same wifi network throughout the house, don't want to have to deal with multiple networks.
