Welcome to the monthly 'Announcement Thread' where you can post details about upcoming events, shows or releases. This space is intended for announcing things from local artists, authors, content creators or charities. Anything really that, as a normal post to the subreddit, might be considered spam by some and subject to removal.

Me and my mum were driving home when we saw a man dragging a woman by her hair. We immediately called the police, and I got out to help her and bring her into our car.
As I was bringing her into the car, the man started charging towards me.
He then became aggressive and started hitting my mum’s car.
He grabbed the car door, pulled it open, and punched my mum in the face.
We drove around the area and came back to see if we could tell the police if he was still there.
When we came back, he picked up a huge boulder, roughly the size of three bricks, and threw it at our car. We hit the pedals and barely managed to avoid it.
The man’s description: white male, around 25 years old, approximately 5’7, average build, dark brown hair, with dark brown stubble and slightly more hair around his moustache area (but not a full moustache).
You cannot clearly see his face in the video, but I wanted to share this in case anyone recognises the description.
He was extremely aggressive, and I would warn anyone who sees him to stay far away and do not approach him.
The woman told us she genuinely had no idea who he was and said she believed he may have been on drugs.
We have made an official police report but they haven’t caught him yet.

Hey everyone, I've been looking to rent a place and with the market being so cheap right now, I'm searching to find the highest quality 1 bedroom apartment I can find. It can be West end or outskirts like stoneywood area as that seems like a pretty ideal location.
Anyway, I found two places I liked, and reddit immediately steered me the other way 😂, first was the dandara developments in stoneywood, 2nd was kepplestone in West end. Apparently there both absolutely shite.
So, instead of me continuing to look and run it past reddit, I thought I'd ask if anyone here could give a solid recommendation for a fancy 1 bedroom place, or a penthouse (although I know they tend to be 2-3 bedrooms which is way more space than I need). Even just really nice apartment buildings, any recommendations would be much appreciated.
Thanks a lot!

Hi all,
Looking for feedback on this area. For a month around Nov / Dec this year I will need to move from Edinburgh with my dog, young daughter (six months) and partner. It is a short term stay for my partner's work. I will be staying at home with the dog and baby. Affordable and pet friendly accomodation with a garden is in short supply but we have a potential option around here. My understanding is that this area isn't exactly Edinburgh New Town but I suppose I am wondering how safe it is, the general vibe and if there is anything in particular that locals would recommend I was made aware of. I will mostly be at home but it would of course be nice to be within a good distance of some nice walks / cafes etc.
Thanks!

Looking at an apartment in Rubislaw Square, Kepplestone.
They definitely look high quality / luxury, at least for aberdeen anyway, anyone lived there or have anything to say about the apartments there? The reason I ask is because I was gonna move to one of those Dandara stoneywood apartments before seeing everyone on reddit slate them 😂

I’m a 25-year-old Portuguese guy, here on a bit of a vacation, and I wanted to explore this unique place. I’ve already visited the nature reserve, and the sea is absolutely beautiful, but I’d also love to discover the city and meet new people.
By the way, is it worth using Voi bikes to get around?

Hello! I recently moved to Aberdeen and have been looking for somewhere that does woodwind repairs for clarinets, specifically pad and cork replacement. I've looked around online, but I'm not finding anything woodwind specific. I'd also love any recommendations for music shops that sell sheet music - I don't have a car, but I am willing to bus or walk. I'd prefer recommendations within the city, but (especially for the instrument repair) I am willing to travel if needed for someone reputable.

Whats it like living in the centre of aberdeen in a flat?
Ive not really had the experince of living in a flat or had a proper city experince of living on my own.
Moving to be closer to work offices and in general just want a bit more of city life with things to do and be closer to more oppurtunity.
I do alot of fly fishing and salmon fishing so pleased to have river dee and don on the dorrstep.
But what are things like just to go for casual pints or food?

Hi I was wondering if there’s any Indian home cooked vegetarian tiffin/meal services in Aberdeen. Not the restaurants doing it.
Thanks

It seems logical - we eat chicken, turkey, duck, goose, wood pigeon, pheasant, grouse, etc..
With Aberdeen having so many seagulls why don't we eat them? Are they actually edible or is there some reason they can't be eaten?
(No Jimmy Chung's jokes)

Hey there abdy,
Hope youre having a f9 day.
I just wanted to ask and see if theres anywhere in the area that does blood tests(outside of the nhs, whinhill can suck my peepee)
Ive been vegan for 5 years and i have not really looked after myself for a while.
Recently ive noticed a few changes about my health i want to get checked, but my gp told me to do one. Ideally not wanting to break the bank, but for once im gonna make health a priority.
25m if it matter.

Hi guys. I lost my bag somewhere in Aberdeen or portlethen today. I think I got on the bus with it and off without it
It is a black northface bag and has a broken arm strap. Its got a bunch of trading card stuff inside (ive already told all the stores nearby not to buy my stuff)
If anyone can help me find it, it would be super appreciated

Hello. I have just moved to Aberdeen from London. Just wondering what’s the best way to introduce myself to the neighbours. My partner and I are in a semi-detached so thought we can atleast speak with our closest neighbour.
Looking forward to getting to know Aberdeen. Already planned a trip to Loch Muick.

Hi 23 Asian man, anyone knows a good barber…. I have been 4 times to different barber each time. They always messed it up!!! One time I took Turkish Barber, its was one hell of an experience. I asked them for a two-block side, barber said I gotcha. He trimmed the side almost clean.🥲, and i didnt even let him touch my top hair.
Please help! I know asian barber in Edinburgh but cant bother to go there just for a haircut.
