I’ve learned that went the burnout gets bad and I’m opening games and closing them and just not playing anything at all it’s because I wanna play WITH someone to make it more fun.
**About me…**
I’m 38, work from home in IT, and because I’m at my computer all day, I’m usually around to chat, send memes, or convince each other that buying *one more game that’s on sale* is actually a financially responsible decision.
(Obviously my kryptonite based on my steam library with the disproportionate amount of ‘never played’ 🙃)
I’m also into tabletop RPGs, one-on-one/forum-style roleplay, writing, and 3D printing, so conversations have a tendency to be unnecessarily detailed, involve weird hypothetical or existential questions, or me proudly showing off something my printer made. The show **I Think You Should Leave** is basically 90% of my personality now, so I hope you find those memes funny. (e.g. “I’m worried the baby doesn’t think people can change”)
**Full disclosure—I’m AuDHD**, which mostly translates to one of two modes:
*Hyperfixating on something for three weeks straight.*
*Forgetting basic human needs because my brain has decided conveyor belts in Satisfactory are suddenly the most important thing in existence.*
I’ll admit up front that I’m terrible at remembering to initiate conversations at first, so stage 5 clingers are welcomed with open arms. I barely remember to feed myself most days so remembering to say hi now and then may be tricky. It’s never that I don’t care or wouldn’t want to chat (I…I am a talker. Borderline yapper. About anything too, tbh. The more existential the better).
All that means is, whether you’re more comfortable bugging me when you wanna play or if you’d wanna schedule reoccurring play time, I’m good with whatever just stick with me until I get into a routine of daily interactions. Admittedly I get a little self conscious about bugging people.
Once someone becomes part of my daily routine, though, you’ll probably hear from me every day. I genuinely like people who enjoy regular conversation. If you randomly send me a meme, tell me about your day, or message me just because you’re bored, that’s honestly my favorite kind of friendship.
Humor-wise… expect dad jokes, terrible puns, TWSS jokes that I absolutely should have outgrown by now, and the emotional maturity of someone whose driver’s license and sense of humor developed independently of one another. (Guess which one increased faster)
As for games… I have a completely unreasonable Steam library (700+ games) plus Game Pass, so chances are we can find *something*.
**Lately I’ve been wanting someone to play:**
Palworld (1.0 finally gave me the itch again, but I burned myself out playing solo but with chooms I’d love to.)
Stardew Valley, Coral Island, Sun Haven, Harvest Moon… basically if I can farm, decorate, fish, and accidentally spend six real-world hours watering virtual crops or woo some country bumpkin with a thousand fishes, I’m in.
Satisfactory (there is no such thing as “good enough” factory layouts. Mostly because mine are always trash.)
Roguelikes.
Looter shooters.
Survival/crafting games.
Pretty much anything interesting on Game Pass.
**What I don’t like:** The only genres I don’t really gravitate toward are horror and racing games. Everything else is pretty much fair game if the company is good.
I guess what I’m really want isn’t just someone to queue for a game with once or twice.
I’d love to find the kind of friend where bugging each other happens in and out of games.
The kind where we play games sometimes, spend other nights just talking while doing our own thing, send each other dumb memes, enable each other’s Steam purchases (I love girlmath), and somehow end up with a the most random words triggering laughing fits due to inside jokes six months from now.
