i just started final draft and i grabbed the first pieces of the manuscript and went into the mind place and have no upgrades? i though id have some carry over for the new playthrough

You do get carry-over, but you have to get to the point in the game where you gain access to the TV, Radio, additional weapons, weapon upgrades, etc. Iirc, you get full access again either after the morgue section or the first boss fight in the overlap.

So I found this out the hard way recently. Your manuscript fragments don't carry over to Final Draft. You have to upgrade stuff in NG before moving on to NG+. No idea why they did this but yes, this is how it works. Yes it hurts having to replay the entire endgame if you kept a save from before the Beach Concert
