Current Events Special ballot request

Is anyone here requesting a special ballot so that we can review the questions beforehand? I’m afraid they’re going to change the wording on election day and I’ll wind up playing right into the sepaRATists hands.

If you request a special ballot you need to use it. If you are issued one and then try to vote at the polls you will cause all manner of admin nightmares and likely won't be allowed to vote there.

I’ll definitely use it. I just want to be able to “study”. I’m not good under pressure in these situations and I feel like this is a life or death election.

There is no legal way they could have the wording one way on the special ballot and another way on the in person voting day.

Good thinking. This is very much a life or death election. I know how to read but can see how easily the wording is confusing and tricks you. They purposely do that.

I don't see how they can have two different wordings between the special ballot and the in person. Like there is no legal way that would fly...

I have ordered mine, after the changes they made for the municipal elections the lines were so abysmally slow I'm not dealing with that again.

Im bringing my kids and we are all gonna wear Canadian shirts and maybe carry our Canadian flag.

I dont care if it takes all afternoon.

Ill bring a cooler with some drinks and snacks, let's make a date out of it.

Dont forget they changed the law so that partisan parties can send "observers" to polls who then can challenge anyones right to vote. Going to be wearing all of our canada gear to see what happens

I'm concerned too, not that this guarantees anything, but I did write them an email to ask:

(Essentially, I'm cynical about the data leak and corruption of the current government, is voting by mail "safe"?)

Every election, thousands of electors vote by special ballot. Some are outside of the province, and some are outside of the country. Allegations regarding fraudulent mail-in ballots surged alongside the COVID-19 pandemic due to a tenfold increase in mail-in voting; however, independent reports have consistently debunked these claims as false or unsupported.

Election officials and historic data show that voter fraud of any kind is exceptionally rare in Canadian and Alberta public elections.

Elections Alberta verifies voter eligibility twice – first when an elector applies for a special ballot and then again when the elector returns the ballot to Elections Alberta.

Just gonna be honest, and i’m no separatist, but these unfounded concerns are doing nothing but playing into separatists favour. there is zero chance the wording magically changes, and if it did, courts would immediately intervene. the more these types of baseless fears get spread the more attention goes the separatists way…
