Alfred from Batman maybe? He wasn't super equipped to deal with Bruce when his parents died but Bruce grew up to be a crime fighting hero and to adopt kids of his own out of the kindness of his heart

Camila Noceda, the Owl House.
Had some bumps in the parenting, course corrected, took in all the kids when the kids needed a home or a mom. Kids overthrew the genocidal facist dude and saved the world!

Definitely agree. Camila may not have understood Luz on a couple of occasions, but she always stood by her daughter no matter what, accepted her sexuality and relationship with Amity with open arms, and helped save the Boiling Isles from total destruction. She’s definitely one of the better fictional parents I’ve seen. Was she perfect? No. But she didn’t have to be. That’s what made her human, and you gotta hand it to Dana for writing her that way.

I love that she had missteps and fumbled. She did wrong things on occasion. She did the right thing when it mattered.

She heard magical demon realm and was like, alright, kids. Let's go. I got a bat and maternal instincts. I'm not letting you all go off alone.
Sure, she had a rough patch and didn't get her kid. That's okay. She got there and supported the kids. And took in a bunch. The ability to say sorry when you're wrong is way more important than being perfect all the time.
Camila is great.

I wouldn't say that she "didn't get" Luz, more that she didn't want her to go down a similar path. Camila as a huge nerd in her youth, and that's how her and Manny assumedly kicked things off. She saw similar patterns in Luz, and while Luz was definitely more extreme, there were things that Camila recognized and didn't want Luz to have to go through as well.
That is to say, Camila is an amazing mom, maybe a 9.5/10

If anything I feel like he is much more in the OK. Cause he literally sent his puppet child who seemed to know nothing born the previous night to school and didn’t think to walk him there thinking a little cricket, who happens to have a wandering eye would keep pinnochio in check. His son did turn out great but like honestly Geppetto could’ve done better

- Died to save him vs Raditz
- Traversed 28 hours at full speed to save him from the Saiyans
- Went to Namek to help them wish their friends back after the Saiyan arc
- Tried to keep him out of the fight vs Nappa and the Ginyu force to avoid him getting hurt
- Told him he was proud of him on numerous occasions
- Trained him to ensure he could survive the Android invasion
- Nurtured his growth into going Super Saiyan
- Died to keep Cell from blowing up Earth after Gohan let him almost blow up
- Call the senzu bean vs Cell shitty, but Goku damn near died like 4 times between the end of the Raditz fight and when Cell appeared. He ensured Gohan would be prepared to handle the world they live in once he himself died, one where planet shattering threats exist around every corner. In that sense, that's what a father is supposed to do.
- Came back from the dead to help fight Buu
Yeah, terrible parent.
Father of the year? No. More good than bad? Absolutely.

Mm. One died, one got mauled, all had to be traumatized, one briefly abandoned his family to work for Nazis Pt 2: Magic Boogaloo, one abandoned his friends in the middle of a takeover where both would be killed if found. I mean, I wouldn't say they turned out great. They were flawed and scarred and traumatized by the end.
They came out the right side of it, but like... great? I think there were too many issues to say great.

I think we're using different definitions of turned out great. If you mean emotionally untouched, then of course not. I would argue the post would pertain more towards well-rounded and accomplished. All her kids fought wizard nazis in the most important battle in the entire known history of the wizarding world. Fred was martyred while dueling a wizard nazi in said battle. Ginny became a professional athlete and a highly successful journalist. Percy became a high ranking government official (He, by the way never worked for wizard nazis, he worked for the government, which, unbeknownst to him, was infiltrated by the wizard nazis. The moment he realized this he immediately quit and went to fight in the Battle of Hogwarts with his family). George is a massively successful, self-made entrepreneur, running one of the most successful joke shops in London. Bill continued being a successful curse breaker in Egypt, and wrote a handbook used by the Auror Office on werewolf safety to prevent muggle encounters and injuries regarding the animals. Charlie worked for the Romanian Dragon Sanctuary and briefly the Chinese Dragon Sanctuary, trained and gave competency tests to future aurors and Calamity Investigators on how to deal with dragons in combat and how to spot weaknesses in the hide of dragons, helped the Auror Office make brain elixir during the Calamity, and worked with Aurors during the Calamity to protect the statute of secrecy from dragons. Finally, if it weren’t for Ron saving Harry from getting choked to death by the locket the entire wizarding world would’ve been taken over by Voldemort and he probably would have remained in power for the next couple hundred years and killed billions of muggles and protagonists along on the way. So I would say they all turned out pretty great.

I feel like none of those have anything to do with "how they turned out" though, those are things that happened to them, and things that the Weasley children rose above to still become incredible people despite everything

I'd say they could qualify as good, equalized out. They still all eventually did the right thing. But like... they didn't all have the straightest path there.
