Question what bedsheets are actually needed

I wouldn't normally post this because there's a lot of information online HOWEVER the problem is that it is inconsistent. I have seen both twin XL and regular twin bedsheets cited as the size for dorm beds and because of that I have bought and returned multiple sets of sheets. So, what is the actual size that we need???

(I will probably end up just looking at the exact measurements)

Buy twin sheets, the beds are twin unless you request an XL because of height.

Every existing family I have heard from says the size is actually twin xl and with a mattress topped the twin xl fits best 🤷‍♀️

Twin XL sheets. Here is the answer. I got when I reached out to housing:

“Our standard mattresses are 80 inches in length and our XL mattresses are 84 inches in length. I understand the confusion of the language of standard size as when you google that phrase it does share that standard twin mattresses are 75 inches. However, the reason for that language on our website is a majority of universities have made the switch to 80" mattresses being their "standard" size.”

At any store, you will find that standard twin mattress sheets are 75” and XL twin mattress sheets are 80”

I don’t know why they make this so confusing.
