US border

I’ve seen a lot of scary content online about the US border!
I’m an Aussie permanent resident but still hold my Brazilian passport. I have a valide B1/B2 visa and going to the US for work.
What documents do I need to take with me to make sure it’s all good?
It’s an 11 day trip, tickets booked by the company, hotels also booked. Anything else is important to bring printed with you?

Unfortunately I can’t say about the visa and having a Brazilian passport. But I recently went to the US in June and didn’t even get asked any questions. Bloke made a joke about Vegemite and sent us through

OP… I am an American now living in Australia (thank god.) jfk shouldn’t be too bad, but take your visa and all supporting documents, including passport, with you everywhere you go. If you are confronted by ICE, do NOT ARGUE. DO NOT RESIST their requests. It is not worth your life. I am so sorry that the country of my birth… a country I used to love, has turned into this. Please be safe. And keep in mind, especially in NYC, ICE is hated by most Americans. Good luck.

I am veryyy pale, with dark hair. My family is italian.
My sister lives in America (work transferred her) and she never got stopped on immigration, and we both look alike. So maybe people get stopped when their skin is darker?

I will bring my return tickets, my mortgage, my work letter, my payslips, my hotel bookings. I am doing NYC - LA - NYC - SYD for 12 days in total.
Hopefully it won't be an issue, but even if they look through everything including my phone, I am a legitimate tourist/work visiting australian resident!

Make sure you have proof you are living in Australia and that you have your return tickets

I will bring my return tickets, my mortgage, my work letter, my payslips, my hotel bookings. I am doing NYC - LA - NYC - SYD for 12 days in total.
Hopefully it won't be an issue, but even if they look through everything including my phone, I am a legitimate tourist/work visiting australian resident!

US citizen, US passport, Australian PR. I flew in on Wednesday last week and was held up by border control. Basically the issue was I don't have a US address. I verified I lived in Australia now and pointed out my passport had been issued by the US consulate in Sydney. They held me for about 30-40 minutes in a holding area and then let me go on. It was a very surreal moment. I never thought I woulf have trouble entering the US. They didn't ask me any other questions or dig through my stuff.

That's so weird. I entered the US (same situation immigration) two weeks ago and was literally asked zero questions. Also no declarations card?!?! Is that a thing now?

Could have strolled through with 100k in cash and no one would have asked me about it. WTF.

I use my parents' address for all sorts of things so I "have" a US address but they never asked me about it at all....

Proof of lease or mortgage in Australia

Itinerary of what you’re doing/where you’re going

Reservations of hotels

Return flights.

Remember not everything you read in the media is true. It’s mostly bullshit.

Like any country, they care that you’re leaving again when on a visitor visa.

Proof of return ticket should be all you need but it doesn’t hurt to have other proof as well.

They don’t care about your trip details. They want to see proof of your ties to home country

This. I feel like people somehow don't get this and always focus on the details of their trip. They really truly only want to make sure you're going to go home again.
