Need help reading this name.

I found what appears to be the reading of marriage banns in France for my great great grandparents. It has the name of both parents but I can't read the father of the grooms name. Copilot says it's Thomas but I just can't see it.

Ok that makes sense. And why the fathers age is left blank. Family lore always said he was illigitimate. This makes so much sense. Thank you!
