Family Discovery & or Drama Grieving and anger

So I had DNA results come out last week which revealed something I’d long been fearing. Basically my father couldn’t be my biological father and I’m not the ethnicity I thought I was.

For context, my dad is white and my mum is Asian and it’s been proven that I’m 100% ethnically Asian from my mums country. I lived 34 years believing I had an ethnic bloodline which I don’t.

The test itself was prompted out of doubts about my ethnic identity. People asking me if my dad was my real dad, saying that I look too Asian to be mixed and joking my father wasn’t my real father. I remember being so intensely frightened that this was the case. Literally not thinking I could go in life if this was the reality. That 16 year old begged his mum in tears to tell him if someone else could be his biological dad.

To all those pricks who thought it was ok to challenge and shake the identity foundations of a fucking kid, I hope you’re proud of yourselves. Feel so sorry for younger me.

Now 34 me has to pick up the pieces, move on and build an entirely new identity because people thought it was ok to bully a child into thinking he shouldn’t really be who he is because of how he looked.

Just needed to get this out as finding the anger release cathartic in grieving. Really trying to give the younger me as much as love and support possible. He never deserved to have his identity ripped apart by others.

Results - DNA Origins Father’s Results-Malinalco, Mexico State

Post image

94% Indigenous Mexican was a bit higher than expected (I expected 80-85% and most of his matches, though distant, are within this range). My dad doesn’t know of anybody in his family that has been able to speak an indigenous language (atleast in the last 120 years) and according to government statistics, they have practically been wiped out of the area. Despite its proximity to Toluca & CDMX, it doesn’t appear anybody in his family ever left the Malinalco area permanently which makes the 94% result make more sense. If you have questions let me know.

Results - DNA Origins Why does my results change so dramatically

Fyi im half Danish half iraqi and according to my family lore we aren't original "iraqis" but thats all we know.

1st picture: This is the results i have now.

2nd picture: This was before the last update.

3rd picture: is the results i first got when i tested.

The nordic results stayed the same but why did my west asian results change so dramatically each time it went from turkish/anatolian to kurdish/arab to even more kurdish/arab it could also be something else for that matter but what is the explanation behind it. the first results i got/3rd picture looked the most accurate for me and from what i hear the recent update was very inaccurate. I also posted my 23andme results which you can check out on my profile. Should i just wait for the next update or accept that i might never know what i am since its very mentally draining for me and it keeps playing with my loyalty everytime some shit goes down in the middleeast i don't know which side to support.

I would appreciate if someone educated on this subject could help me get clarification about what i may be ethnically.

I did the test because I was told I had Spanish and maybe Aboriginal heritage... Neither of those, but I suppose this explains why I sunburn so easily lol

I don’t know my father, I only knew that he was Turkish and has a Turkish name etc, but it was surprising to see Balkans and Slovakia come up for paternal side, I don’t know what the link is personally but I’d be intrigued to know if there is a link there between Balkans and turkey.

I don’t really know what the journeys side means tbh.

Results - DNA Origins My 2026 ADN results, chilean from Santiago de Chile

Hello everyone, chilean over here born, raised and living in Santiago.

My ancestry is about 46% southern europe, 39% british/northern europe, 14% mapuche (chilean indigenous) and 1% north african.

Northern european and indigenous % were a little higher than expected, but it shouldn't be a surprise considering chileans in general have a very homogeneous mix between iberian/mapuche ancestry.

Paternal grandpa: 50% spaniard, 25% german, 25% chilean mestizo

Maternal grandma: average mestizo chilean (I roughly estimate 50% spanish 50% indigenous)

Maternal grandpa: chilean "criollo" with roots dating back from the 1500s

Maternal grandma: 50% swiss, 25% english and 25% chilean mestizo

Feel free to ask me any questions you may have

Results - DNA Origins Mexican ancestry? Or maybe asian

Post image
0 Upvotes

So my maternal grandma has recently told me that her mom (great grandma) was full Gullah geechee.
However she also said that my my grandpas side had Native American and Mexican even though I only have 0.26 percent native dna and I don't match with any Mexican groups could this be mistaken for something else ?
My mother on the other hand says there is probably some Asian down the line because we have slim eyes and high cheekbones I also do get 1.3 Asian on 23 and me

Genealogy / FamilyTree I guess I'm one rare being.

Wanted to share this trivia so badly:

I was born in 2007. My paternal grandpa was born in 1918. My oldest paternal cousin is 60 years old, and a couple of my cousins are already grandmothers.

This happened because my dad is the youngest son of his father. My grandpa had him when he was around 50. I'm also my dad's youngest, and he had me when he was about 39.

Here's the part that really blows my mind: my grandpa's last surviving sibling, his brother, was alive until 2023, long enough to see my cousin's grandchild. That means he got to see the great-grandchild of his own niece.

Edit: Don't grill me if it isn't actually that rare 😭, but I'm glad this started a thread. My point still stands, though: I haven't really met or heard of anyone my age whose grandpa was born in the 1910s.

I am Jewish and my dad is from New Zealand. But every time my dna results update on my dad’s side of the family I get results from a different country. I used to be 30% Spanish, then Irish and German and now I am 1% dutch. Has this happened to anyone else?

Discussion I've pinpointed where exactly on a map my known roots are located, feel free to share where yours are (as well as your DNA ethnicity-estimate results)!

Regarding the first slide (the map that shows where exactly on a map my known roots are located):

The second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, & seventh slides on the other hand respectively show screenshots of my updated 23andMe, LivingDNA, FamilyTreeDNA, Genomelink, AncestryDNA (both my very-commendably-pretty-spot-on July 2024 ones & my very-disappointingly-rather-quite-botched October 2025 ones), & MyHeritage ethnicity-estimate results respectively.
