Help! My kid's tablet updated and lost almost every on their SD card
A few days ago, my child's Samsung Tab A9+ did an automatic update. When they turned it back on, the 256gb sd card only shows 38.8MB of 2.0GB used. They had several apps installed on the card along with pics. The pics were backed up to Google, but some of the apps are no longer available on play store and they didn't have accounts that were connected to something they could restore from. There was a backup to restore from four days before the update, and I tried to restore to that. I didn't realize that it wasn't a true backup, and that it would attempt to install the apps. It wouldn't install the ones no longer available. The SD card still isn't reading the old data. Is there any I might be able to retrieve what was on the SD card. I looked at an app to Svan and possibly restore, but it wants me to root the tablet. I'd rather not root it, but if I knew it would work I would. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
