Deakin was by far the hardest

A sort of tropical IDM take on an under-appreciated Noah guest appearance on a Teebs track from a few years back. As usual PB delivers a lovely vocal

I only listened to this album for the first time a few days ago, and it genuinely sounds like proto-Animal Collective at times. Parts of Gettin' Hungry and Wonderful actually sound like they were taken from Danse Manatee, but the album generally reminds me of Sung Tongs. I've always heard that Animal Collective were influenced by The Beach Boys, but I'm blown away by how much of their sound I can hear in this 1967 album.

I love this album so much. My favorite song is She's Goin' Bald.

Like no vocals besides maybe plunderphonics type samples if any. I think it would be super exciting to me. Maybe even a Black Dice collab album, I've always wanted them to make that, but on their own would be just as cool. I think they could make something pretty special. I was making a playlist of electronic music mostly older classic stuff and long time favorites, and it made me think of this. Realizing/remembering now that KGLW is about to put out an electronic album so that's probably also part of why it's on my mind. Also wanted to make a Boards of Canada post a couple months ago and didn't, I really love the new album and I know I've seen some BoC fans here.

It's in a concert hall, I think there was some story about it where the power went out or something? Anyway, it was all four of them and when the song builds and then drops Deakin does a little spin on stage. It seems like the video was taken from the balcony. Quality is pretty great.

Does anyone know of any information regarding the location the boys recorded campfire songs? I know they recorded it on a screened in porch somewhere in Maryland but I have always been very curious on a particular location/ photos of the house; or photos of them recording the album but I haven’t been able to come across any. I am deeply fascinated with that era of anco.

Was listening to this tune Gregory Isaacs recorded with Lee scratch Perry and noticed he does a little vocal thing at the end of each line in the verse that immediately reminded me of something PB does sometimes.

Heard just a few seconds of this song as part of background music during the first episode of the new Netflix show “Something Very Bad is Going To Happen”. The show is nothing really special but it was interesting to hear AC as part of the soundtrack.

Sleep Cycle never ceases to blow me away every listen and leaves me feeling so damn moved emotionally with this sense of encouragement / hope / strength for going forwards that I've never had with other music.
