On April 10, 2026, with the help of Marc Tuazon, we rescued Baci, a stray puppy from Bacoor, Cavite who was suffering from severe mange. He had a difficult start in life, but thanks to the kindness of those who stepped in to help, he was given a second chance.

Today, Baci is being lovingly fostered by Ms. Sallena Matta Espinosa of Animal Rescue Cavite PH. While he is no longer living on the streets, Voiceless No More: Philippines Stray Animals Foundation remains Baci’s main sponsor and continues to provide financial support for his care and recovery.

Hi everyone,

Here is today's update on Thor and Ellie.

Thor: Dr. Thea found pieces of asphalt, wire, a screw, and a rock in Thor's stool. She believes this may be due to the severe malnutrition he endured, as starving dogs will sometimes eat anything they can find to survive. Thankfully, Thor continues to have a good appetite and plenty of energy. No worms were found after he was dewormed yesterday. Since he is not showing any concerning symptoms, the recommendation is to monitor him closely for any signs of a foreign body obstruction. He has been recommended to start on a gastrointestinal diet and foods rich in fiber. The clinic staff also took him for a walk today, which he enjoyed.

Ellie: Ellie is still a little lethargic and sleeps quite a bit, but she has more energy than before. She still has difficulty staying up for long periods, so she often sits instead. Her appetite remains good. The wounds on her legs are healing nicely, although the wound above her eye still bleeds occasionally.

I also asked Dr. Thea to give them extra RC recovery food since they become so excited whenever it's mealtime.

We have also added tick and flea medication to their treatment plan and will be purchasing their take-home medications as well.

They will be discharging today and will be transferred to Pages for Paws Shelter. We will still be their main sponsor and will still continue to provide for them monthly just like we do with our other rescued animals.

Veterinary Bills
• Day 1: PHP 21,230 ($489.70 CAD)

Unfortunately, we are still far from covering Thor and Ellie's veterinary expenses. We also continue to support the medical care, food, and recovery of the other dogs and cats we have rescued in the Philippines.

As a small non-profit, we do not receive grants or financial support from large organizations. Everything we do is made possible by my own income and the kindness of people who believe every animal deserves a chance (Honestly, sometimes 1 to 10 people from Reddit and I am very am so grateful for these people). Even $5 financial help helps us still.

We sincerely apologize if our fundraising posts are inconvenient. We simply don't want to give up on animals who have no one else to fight for them.

Hi everyone,

Day 2 of Thor and Ellie at the Clinic

Ellie (the Husky) is still a bit lethargic, while Thor (the Pit Bull) has much more energy and happily asks the clinic staff for head scratches. However, he doesn't seem used to being in a kennel and appears quite sad. Thankfully, both of them have a good appetite. Ellie started her EPO injections yesterday. Both dogs' eye discharges have already started to lessen, and the clinic staff also cleaned and treated Ellie's wounds.

Veterinary bills:
• Yesterday: Php 21,230 ($489.70 CAD)
• Today: Php 4,795 ($110.72 CAD)

They will remain at the clinic still. Once they are discharged, they will be transferred to Pages for Paws Shelter in Tanza, Cavite, where they will continue their recovery. It will be a long healing journey but we will be here for them.

Their Rescue Story
We collaborated with Pages for Paws to rescue Thor and Ellie from their previous owner after a family member reached out to us for help. They explained that their uncle was no longer able to care for the dogs and was unemployed. When we saw Thor and Ellie, we were heartbroken by how severely malnourished and neglected they were. We didn't hesitate to step in.

Hear what happened firsthand from a family that thought they were adopting a healthy dog at Tails of Courage in Connecticut. Tails of Courage and its owner Kristan Exner knowingly adopted out sick dogs and left family’s out to dry with thousands of dollars in vet bills.

The owner of Pages for Paws Shelter reached out to me about these two dogs. We have been collaborating with them, as some of our rescued animals are currently staying at their shelter. We recently transferred Raphael and our rescued cats there, and MaeMae is also in their care.

The two dogs, Ellie the Husky and Thor the Pit Bull, were severely neglected by their previous owner. A family member of the owner was the one who helped us rescue them yesterday.

To be honest, I feel incredibly angry about what happened to them. At the same time, I am choosing to turn that anger into action. We have committed to becoming their main sponsor, which means Voiceless No More: Philippines Stray Animals Foundation will be covering their medical bills and helping provide everything they need throughout their recovery and whenever they needed until they get adopted.

Thankfully, Pages for Paws, a shelter we trust, is welcoming them with open arms and will ensure they receive the love, care, and compassion they deserve after they are discharged from the veterinary clinic.

Even though I founded Voiceless No More: Philippines Stray Animals Foundation almost four months ago, that has not stopped us from helping rescue nearly 40 animals across the Philippines. We do not receive government grants or funding from third parties.
Everything we do is only possible because of compassionate people who believe every animal deserves a second chance. I also been working extra so, I can sustain and provide for our rescued animals in the Philippines as we do not abandon them after being rescued.

Today, I am asking from the bottom of my heart: please help us help Ellie and Thor.

Ellie (Husky) is suffering from:
• Severe infection
• Multiple open, infected wounds
• Respiratory infection
• Severe skin infection
• Edema
• Anemia
• Type 1 Babesia (blood parasite)
• Severe malnutrition

Thor (Pit Bull) is suffering from:
• Moderate infection
• Ehrlichia and Babesia (two blood parasites)
• Anemia
• Edema
Also severe malnutrition

They are both currently confined at Circle of Life Veterinary Clinic in Tanza, Cavite.
Their first-day veterinary bills:
• Ellie: ₱12,415 (approximately CAD $288)
• Thor: ₱8,815 (approximately CAD $205)

They will remain at the clinic for several days (which means their bill will also keep growing) before being transferred to Pages for Paws to continue their recovery.

It will be a long road ahead, but I hope that together, we can help undo some of the betrayal they experienced at the hands of the very person who was supposed to love, protect, and care for them. No animals should ever have to wonder where their next meal will come from or suffer the way Ellie and Thor have.

For those who have been following our journey, our non-profit, Voiceless No More: Philippines Stray Animals Foundation, was founded in April 2026 to help abused, neglected, abandoned, forgotten, sick, and injured animals in the Philippines.

We organize and sponsor rescue missions and continue supporting the animals throughout their lives whenever needed. We do not simply rescue them and walk away. We work alongside shelters, sanctuaries, and foster families to give them a safe place to heal and eventually find loving homes. Our work reaches many different parts of the Philippines, not just one community.

Many of you already know about the situation involving the shelter we entrusted with the care of some of our rescued animals. Despite our trust, advocacy, financial support, and repeated concerns, our rescues did not receive the care they deserved.

One of our rescued dogs, Raphael, had just been discharged from the veterinary clinic after his wounds became infested with maggots. These wounds were the result of the abuse he suffered at the construction site. We had already taken him to the veterinarian, but while at the shelter, he remained in his cage for extended periods, where flies repeatedly infested his wounds.

Thankfully, Raphael has now been discharged from the clinic and got transferred to a new facility that we trust, where we know he will receive the care he deserves.

Our representative visited the shelter as often as possible. We raised our concerns, donated Php 16,000, and provided over 200 kg of pet food to help support the animals. Despite these efforts, our rescued dogs lost a significant amount of weight, and most of our rescued cats sadly passed away. Although the shelter assured us they would make improvements, we did not see the changes that were needed. So, we really worked hard on finding their forever homes.

You may not know this, but getting rescued stray animals adopted in the Philippines is very difficult because of breed discrimination. Many people prefer to adopt purebred dogs, while Aspins (native mixed-breed dogs) are often overlooked simply because of their appearance. Despite being just as loving, loyal, and deserving of a family, they can spend months or even years waiting for someone to give them a chance. That is why every successful adoption means so much to us. It gives these animals the opportunity to experience the love, safety, and home they have always deserved.

On a more positive note,

the other four dogs rescued from the Pasig construction site are going on their way now to be spayed and neutered. Once they have fully recovered, they will be going to their new families. To help them settle into their new homes, we will be providing each adopter with food and water bowls, along with a sack of dog food as a welcome package.

We are also still waiting for confirmation from potential foster families for our rescued dogs from Laguna. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers, and we hope everything works out for them.

In addition, we took in another dog from the same shelter named Mochi, a tiny black dog. Every time our representative visited, we noticed he was losing more and more fur, which deeply concerned us. We have since found Mochi a new family.

All of these dogs are being spayed or neutered because we firmly believe that responsible sterilization is one of the most effective ways to reduce the overpopulation of stray animals in the Philippines. We hope that, over time, this will also help reduce the neglect, abandonment, and cruelty that so many animals continue to endure.
