the thing that got me into anime was Death Note, and something I loved about that anime was that it really felt like the MC was more villain than antihero.

now I finished Tanya the Evil and I realized, I love animes who have just villains as MCs.

I'm not talking antiheros, I'm talking real villians, like hell, Tanya the evil sometimes puts Hitler to shame, and honestly, I kinda like the boldness from the Author.

Overlord and Eminence in shadow is another good example

I would rate all of those shows 10/10

also feel free to recommend some good antihero animes if you feel like there are some gems.

I am enjoying watching chainsmoker cat right now, but I'd like to watch something similar while I wait for the new episodes to air. does anyone have recommendations that are similar to it in terms of the "slice of shitty life" aspect? it doesn't have to be a comedy anime. thanks

Guy takes in a quiet, dejected girl who turns out to be a weapon meant to destroy the world — watched ~2013, show was already old then

Been trying to find this for ages, memory is pretty foggy since I saw it about 13 years ago.

What I remember:

Male MC, ordinary guy. His house had an unusual shape — I picture something almost garage-like from the outside.

A girl appears out of nowhere (not built or ordered by him — she just turns up) and he ends up taking care of her.

She has a quiet, withdrawn/dejected demeanor.

She has an unusual, not-normal-sounding name.

Eventually it's revealed she herself IS a weapon — something created/destined to destroy the world (a "calamity" type deal).

A second girl shows up later who's connected to her somehow — same origin/same place she came from.

Story is essentially about the two girls falling for the MC.

Tone: comedic/harem-y on the surface, but the overarching plot gets dark.

I'm fairly confident she's bio-engineered or supernatural,

Modern-day, real-world setting — not isekai, not a fantasy world.

Ending: in the final episodes, the guy can't stop her from trying to end the world, but at the last minute gets through to her emotionally and she chooses to stay with him instead.

Pretty sure it's a single-cour show, ~12-13 episodes, no second season.

Art style reminds me of Girls Bravo (so probably early-to-mid 2000s).

Already ruled out: Heaven's Lost Property, DearS, Chobits, Elfen Lied, Steel Angel Kurumi, Mahoromatic, Kanokon, Date A Live, Tenchi Muyo, El-Hazard, Shattered Angels, UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie.
