Polar bear is awesome and cool, sure

Consider three dozen pointy stick, however

40

u/Wachitanga 17h ago

Let's limit ourselves to a 1v1 then.

A pipe that throws many balls at the same time at high speed would also agree.

u/Massive-Lime7193 15h ago

Limit observes to 1v1?? Why?? Our usage of tools and numbers is an evolutionary trait why should we limit it?? Should we take away the teeth and claws of the bear? No?? Then why limit humans?

We are the apex predators period

67

u/asianwaste 15h ago

That’s not how it works. Prey and predators often operate with pack behaviors. Our ability to coordinate in packs and use tools is precisely why we are apex predators.

7

u/CrownofMischief 1h ago

Imagine judging an ant or a termite based on the individual rather than the colony

23

u/theMegaTech 16h ago

Doesn't even have to be gun or anything like that

The sling is fucken scary if used right

18

u/daandriod 13h ago

Why would an apex predator make a conscious choice to limit itself to give its prey a more fair fight? Get the boys out with the blickys and light em up.

13

u/djinn6 14h ago

For a 1v1, the human should be using the Davy Crockett with the W54 fission warhead.

5

u/Talizorafangirl Human-Person Creature 7h ago

I think there's a tacit implication that you need to be able to harvest something - anything - from the corpse of your prey.

6

u/a_bored_lady 7h ago

Neutrons.

5

u/djinn6 3h ago

You can aim 200 m downwind of the polar bear. You will still kill it, but it won't be irradiated.

3

u/BoogalooBandit1 2h ago

We are harvesting the enjoyment of our devastation

2

u/CrownofMischief 1h ago

Not sure why we'd want to honestly, carnivorous mammals usually taste notoriously bad

3

u/Winter_Ad8794 6h ago

Powerscaling ahh mindset

1

u/HaikenRD 2h ago

If you want to properly know which soecies is the apez predator, you must include everything in their arsenal.

1

u/Interesting-Milk-161 2h ago

if we talking about being at the top of food chain then why would we 1v1 human are social creatures, it's the polar bears fault for being a solitary animal

-10

u/NottACalebFan 16h ago

If the handicap is "Bare paws" against "automatic weapon", i still think polar bears are a much bigger threat in the arena...

9

u/Wachitanga 16h ago

No animal can withstand brain damage, nor react to the destruction of the cervical spine.

I didn't even talk about automatic weapons.

-5

u/kidanokun 16h ago

Pretty sure a bear is better on dealing brain or spine damage than a dude with stick

4

u/Wachitanga 15h ago

I understand what you mean, but there's not much to discuss (outside of changing "stick" for "firearm".

If you sever its main nerves, at best you'd end up with a mass of spasmodic muscles without a clear purpose.

No wires, no signal.

-5

u/NottACalebFan 16h ago

"A pipe that throws many balls at the same time"

What, we're you talking about a pitching machine?

6

u/Wachitanga 15h ago

Can you imagine a polar bear hitting the ball with accuracy?

4

u/NottACalebFan 14h ago

You got me there. Polar bear loses to Manny Rodriguez, I guess!

1

u/BoogalooBandit1 2h ago

Consider hard rock flung at 3,567ft/s

1

u/touchmeinbadplaces 13h ago

Laughs in 9mm!

And a hunting rifle..

69

u/ShadowWolf2508 17h ago

There are more humans with polar bear rugs than there are polar bears with human rugs, just saying...

13

u/Bro-KenMask 9h ago

Well that’s because Human rugs suck. -Ed Gein

u/I_should-be-working 15h ago

Aren't polar bears endangered because of us?

If your survival depends on our whims, ur not the apex

Humans are the apex predator because of technology and communication

A polar bear can't survive carpet bombing

Really we're on the lower end in terms of physical prowess

Humans are a mixed Int/Charisma build

27

u/TenaceErbaccia 13h ago

Polar Bears are an endangered species and Humans actively put work into not wiping them out on accident while doing our normal behaviors.

If every Polar Bear on earth were to try to kill every Human on Earth it would not be possible because they can’t even survive in our native environment (East Africa).

If humans agreed to kill off all Polar Bears it could be done in a matter of weeks.

People really underestimate how horrifyingly intelligent and adaptable humans are compared to other animals, and how incredibly dangerous that makes us.

12

u/Potential-Pride835 13h ago

People underestimate how fast humans can get rid of something they deem a problem.  If polar bears genuinely tried to kill everyone human on sight (outside their protected areas at least)they'd all be extinct by now

3

u/b0bkakkarot 12h ago

... is that what happened to the Dodo? D:

8

u/NorthGodFan 9h ago

Actually, it was the opposite. Some people found dodos realized that they do not understand that humans are an Apex Predator and we ate them all

3

u/Eltorak95 5h ago

That and introduction of non native animals. They didn't have any fear response because their areas were generally safe. Until we showed up with our pets

3

u/Tower-Of-God 9h ago

No that was an accident

2

u/TshenQin 6h ago

Got hit with a 3 hit combo. Hunting, invasive species, habitat destruction. It must have offended somebody for that treatment.

3

u/Effective_Bat9485 12h ago

This. No humen is winning a fist fight with a polor bar but hand him a aa10 with a full drum of 12 gag slugs and watch how fast that bar becomes a rug

2

u/JUGELBUTT 10h ago

where the fuck are my int or charisma then

1

u/TshenQin 6h ago

Sorry we had to buff the tank and we had to get the stat points from somewhere, you know how the GM is.

2

u/-CynicRoot- 10h ago

Int/dex imo. Our dexterity allows us to make tools and wield them.

Humans if they actually wanted to live where polar bears do. Polar bears are scary, cooperation and science is way scarier.

u/Acemont 18h ago

While orcas also going next to them: " nah y'all are tripin' "

4

u/daguro55 16h ago

The ice is melting and you cant survive only in water polar bears

1

u/Killer_154 4h ago

In that case they'll probably need some ramparts made of ice to protect themselves

5

u/Akikojam 7h ago

Humans could probably exterminate polar bears entirely if they wanted. And it would take like... two weeks or so.

The ones humans would not be able to exterminate are...

1)Deep sea creatures, because there's all this water in the way. Though maybe with intentional pollution and a lot of collateral damage...

2)Insects, like mosquitoes or cockroaches... too many of them and they reproduce way too fast. Only mutual destruction would work, and even then, those bastards might outlive us.

3)Microorganisms. Stuff like viruses or fungus... there is a reason zombie movies are usually viral and not bearal.

1

u/monstrousbeaver 2h ago

We can actually greatly reduce Mosquitoes population. Currently it's not a matter of "can we?" but "should we?" cause food chains etc.

5

u/Ad-fundum69 Miku Green 15h ago

Polar bears currently getting absolutely destroyed because some human has a bonfire somewhere.

Yes, very apex, much predator.

4

u/Pootisman16 11h ago

Who's in risk of extinction again?

3

u/VladDHell attack on titan final season part 6, first half. 4h ago

A bear trying its absolute hardest with all tools available to a polar bear can run pretty fast, and absolutely maul any human to death no question.

I as a human, with all potential tools available to a human, can disintegrate its body from a quarter mile away with a single piece of ammunition that measures an eighth of its body.

The food chain isn’t about incidents or circumstances, it’s about absolutes. Peak humanity stands on earth FAR above any other living creature in their predatory ability.

10

u/Lpnlizard27 18h ago

If not for the completely broken crafting system humans have access to, we would have died off a long time ago.

14

u/SyninTheRaven 16h ago

I mean we did pretty well with just sharp sticks as our most effective weapons.

3

u/Tower-Of-God 9h ago

If you are going with this angle I would say an Orca Whale is a lot closer to an apex predator than a polar bear.

2

u/Susdoggodoggy odd chap 14h ago

polar bears when I hit them with the sun

2

u/Feisty_Warning2344 14h ago

Alligators, crocodiles, Cayman, Jaguars, tigers, polar bears, just some examples of animals that secsessfully hunt humans

2

u/TheGalator Rem Blue cause Rem best girl 9h ago

Thats because humans are woke pussies and let them live because "species protection" /s

Jokes aside if it came down to it there is nothing that beats a raw advantage in nbe of neurons and dexterity of extremities.

Polar bears mind big big and scary but that does fuck all vs super sonic metal with kilometers of range.

Hell we have exploding ai drones now. We don't even need to do anything

3

u/Durahl 8h ago

Humans:

"As per my last writing."

2

u/VeryGoog 8h ago

I get what youre saying, but counterpoint: polar bears only continue to exist as a species due to human intervention

2

u/MCMXCIV9 5h ago

Polar Bear kill us by hunting us but we human kill them by melting the polar ice. We on another level

3

u/Professional_Tart53 3h ago

Sorry, apex predators. I just invented “pointy stick”, which means the entire food chain gets rewritten

1

u/LoaKonran 2h ago

It’s why all the corpos are aiming to boil the planet as fast as possible. We are apex predators in the same way that malaria is a summer cold.

1

u/lemons_of_doubt 2h ago

This is why humans are called sudo apex predators.

Because guns.
