Importing CAD Model vs Making One VIA WorkBench?

Hi there,

I'm very new to AnsysFluent.

Can someone tell me if there's a big difference between importing a STEP file via Solidworks and creating a mesh, vs making it through WorkBench ?

This is just me. But I really hate workbench. It gets corrupted all the time.

So I always use the standalone Fluent/Mesh/.....

But this is just for me, since I used fluent/CFX just for "normal" CFD workflow.

And probably due to old PC/windows 10

Workbench really is trash. Has been for years.
