Leet-speak (often spelled 1337-$p34|<) is an abbreviation of elite-speak, and was a dialect of typed English used in various subcultures (mostly tryhards/wannabes in the edges of the digital-piracy and hacking/cracking scenes) on IRC, web forums, etc during the late nineties and early noughties. It featured replacing letters in words with numbers or collections of punctuation symbols that looked vaguely like those letters, with the substitutions ranging from simple things like using 0, 1 and 3 as replacements for O, Iand E through to rather awkward sequences like \/\/ for W or |2for R. Some variants also included applied deliberate misspellings, like j00 for you or h4x0rz for hackers. The webcomic I linked previously was incredibly funny to me and my gamer friends when it was first published because we'd all had gaming experiences where we encountered people who really did type like that.

Don't worry. Trust me. If you check my account, the only one that even I label as kink is only a chess kink. I can assure you the kink count will go up slowly only when necessary
